  • For those looking for the movie version:

    watch?v=lkPZXPJl-8I

this guy did an awesome job of blending the reprise info the previously heard version from the reveal.

  • I wish they made one without the beat in the background, like in the movie.

  • the beginning sounds very JMJ lol

  • Moroder....= MY GOD! :)

  • If they do remake this movie, would they remake the 2 and 3?

  • 3 people work for the Nothing.

  • que sonido tan caracteristico de las peliculas de los 80. me encanta

  • Daft Punk should redo this soundtrack just like they did for Tron. :)

  • Thumbs up if you think this music would have been great in a video game.

Chrono Trigger for the SNES comes to mind.

  • and on the front row its senna and alain prost, just behind them its gerhard berger and nannini...michele alboretto and nigel mansell on row 6 and bringing up the rear is rene arnoux in the ligier

  • How I miss the 80's

  • @Teletran35 Me too man!!...Me too!!!

  • One of the best themes from one of the best movies

thanks dude ive been looking everywhere for this song

  • Ill give the second film this:at least it isn't as bad as number 3

  • @LenaDelovely i dont think the present remake will do much damage to the memory to be honest. there was a miniseries made a few years ago, that did precious little damage to the memory to the original memory. and there was also the neverending story 2 and 3. number 2 was pretty bad, and the third movie was so disastrous that it both killed the franchise, and the careers of all involved, except jack black, and freddie jones. and the original came out of that mess clean as a whistle

  • Here it is! - I was looking for this theme everywhere1 SO that's what this song was called...

  • This piece makes me want to see Senna, Prost, Piquet and Mansell do battle in 1000 hp turbo cars.

  • @LenaDelovely i must agree!what's with hollywood making remakes of all the good 80's movies and makin them turrible???

  • @GSS1Sirius you have the slow version? Please...

  • @MariPizzo11 this is the only version that had a soundtrack release.the slow version can only be found in the movie.

  • @100rocksinaboxx Yes, I know! I saw the movie. I just wish the version on youtube...

  • @MariPizzo11 its on youtube its the movie version

  • This orchestral piece is amazing.

  • ABSOLUTELY EPIC!!!!

  • Ok, this is not the music I know. This is NOT Doldinger.

  • Epic 80's music and movie!!

  • oohhhh that its amazing theme, good job Mr Doldinger and of course thank you for post it.

  • omg can i plz have this song????

  • They say a remake of Neverending Story is being made. While it could benefit from the story being more like the book, if they decide to swap out the original themes by Doldinger and Moroder, they will have to have a VERY talented composer who would have to work VERY hard just to come close to par with the original soundtrack. just my opinion.

  • I agree with each and every sentence in this statement. I loved this movie as a child, however when I read the book, it is lightyears ahead of being than this movie. That said, I still enjoy watching the movie because of nostalgia factr I'm glad Warner will give this book the respect it deserves. If only Michael Ende were still alive to see it...

  • I totally agree, I think they should get the original composer to do the remake I dont think anyone else could come close to these melodies. they should let wolfgang Peterson direct too.

  • @pie453 I totally agree, I grew up watching movies like this, if they change things to make it more like the book, no problem, they'd better balance out the actors better, I can't stand how they got rid of the original Atreyu...

  • @pie453 Agree with you. comparing the book and the film: I loved the book better, but the film's musical score by Doldinger was incomparable.

  • @pie453 I just saw this movie after many years, and yes, I think it needs a remake. But also that the music will be a challenge: Giorgio Moroder got something very important: a theme with a lot of melody needs a lot of rythm not to sound like another Titanic/Schindler's List-like theme. So here's some advice for those remakers: prepare your violins and everything, but don't forget your drums and synths.

  • @pie453 You got that right!

  • @pie453 I say re-record a new, faithful rendition of this theme with a touch of epicness added to it.

Impresses today's audiences while brings warm feelings to the nostalgic folk. Imagine hearing this again with the cinema sound.

  • @pie453 I agree that the music is critical. It will be tough to get it right. A big challenge however is that this music is very much in line with the 80's. If this came out now...mmm I don't know. It will need updating, but very carefully. Keep the same arrangements, with MINOR tweaks, and less synth is how they would have to do it. Here's hoping, whatever happens, that its a beautiful film of wonder again.

  • @jdtwk123 Some movies don't need to be remade. A new NES, though, a continuation of the story or simply a movie based along the same events... aka a kid finds the book, goes to Fantasia, ect... that might be better than a straight remake.

  • i saw a BBC F1 video. they used it 4 their starting grid theme in the '80s-'90s...

  • @Harvey142009 dito

  • @Harvey142009 That is quite an neverending story too....

  • what's it called cuz I cant find it

  • this WAS one of the origenals, it simply wasn't used!!!!

  • Oh my dear God in heaven what is this crap! This is NOT what we ehard in the theatres or the videos! Too much trying to remix! What about the original symphonic score? Where can we get that! What is the album name?

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, where IS the original symphonic theme? I can't find it anywhere.

  • @PluckyRagdoll Yeah it wasn't used because it sounded too techno-ish for the movie...I've been trying to find it too

  • @cdowell1976 LOLOLOLOL you crack me up laughing

  • @cdowell1976 LOL this is the real version of Ivory Tower :) Neverending story mixed things up a bit to make it a bit more quiet and unique. And this isnt "crap"... This is great :D

  • @MelRules911 I've read this is just a synth-pop version of the Moroder theme done with Limahl's help. The Doldinger version is more orchestral with some choral "ahhh-ahhhing" from what I remember, and isn't like this at all. This here was used in a trailer for the film and never in any existing version of the movie.

  • Yupp =) This movies great and who cares if the music is a BIT differ from the peice in the movie because it still gives you the same feeling of imagination =)

  • True and I do admit I like this quite a bit, at least on its own. It's very bouncy and fun to listen to, not bad at all. I just prefer the movie version since I grew up with it, is all. But as I said this isn't really that bad. :)

  • great this song i used it to motive my players the SN SPORT - MOCHE - PERU

  • Awesome song, very 80's for sure!

  • thk for posting,so good theme,

  • Ah, I like this song. :) Does anyone know where you can find the original sound as played in the movie? The soundtrack contains a modified version...

  • Unfortunately it doesn't exist except for in the movie. They've never released it =(

  • @doryenc

The instrumental version of Power To Believe from Planes, Trains & Automobiles = missing from the soundtrack. Loved By The Sun from the film Legend = missing from most soundtracks, and even the DVD of the film (unless you live in the US). All the great music from Ferris Bueller's Day Off = never even released as a soundtrack. The best score from Neverending Story = missing from the soundtrack. What IS it with classic 80's films playing hard-to-get with their music???

  • @garethac81 - So true.

  • Check my videos. I've uploaded the track as it sounds in the movie.

I'd be willing to upload it as a downloadable music file if someone gave me a few pointers on how to do so.

  • GREAT PLEASE upload more tracks from doldingers work as a film composer or a member of PASSPORT,thanks again!

  • Thank U so much for posting!!!! This music makes me feel good.
