  • This is the most helpful tutorial video I have ever seen. :D

  • at my minecraft doesnt work :(

  • @MrCaptainnova1 Try what i've recommended for other comments or try the text tutorial in the description.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • my minecraft wont open...

  • @TheStufftodo Double check your plist, your java preferences, you java application stub, and that you have the java system update.

  • You need to have a partnership with youtube, like tyistech

  • i cant find the javavm.framework ordner! help me pls :P

  • @MrLUcI13 Go to finder, in the top bar click 'go' > 'go to folder...' and then type /System/Library/Frameworks Then you can navigate to JavaVm.framework and go from there!

  • Just thought you should know, I did this 5 times from start to finish... and it didn't work...

  • @SystemFreaKk13 You're making some error repeatedly then... It's working for the thousands of people who have seen this. Are you on leopard or later? Do you have the update? Did you check your java preferences? There is a link to a text tutorial in the description that's entitled "Those who are having problems go here" or something like that. It ma be easier to follow.

  • @TeamZonedOut I'm doing it right repeatedly, I have the update, the textedit looked exactly how you changed it already, so i didn't have to type or edit anything, and in my preferences 64-bit is at the top. BUT!!!! What the hell is leopard?

  • @SystemFreaKk13 As in the version of your operating system. Panther, tiger, leopard, snow leopard or lion? Either way, since you have 64 bit java there, it looks like you will need to look at the more detailed text tutorial in the description. It's the link with the title "those having problems"

  • @TeamZonedOut I have no idea how to find what version my operating system is... I can tell you that I'm running MacOS X Version 10.6.8, but how 10.6.8 translates into a jungle cat I have no fuckin clue...

I will, nevertheless, try the text tutorial in the description and see what happens.

What isnt working, isn't that the Error message in Minecraft is still showing up, but instead, the message DOES NOT show up, but Minecraft continues to lag and run slower on "Far" despite the message being gone

  • @TeamZonedOut Went through the detailed instructions, thrice, no good. No more "You should run 64-bit" messages, but if I stand up on a hill and look around the lag is unbelievable even if it does load the sandbox at a further distance...

  • @SystemFreaKk13 Well since the message is gone you are running 64 bit. This does not mean won't lag, though. Just because you put 64 bit in there doesn't mean you can play on far no problem. I can't play on far even with 64 bit and all these performance mods out there, just because my hardware is what's limiting me. You can try some of my other performance tutorials, but for now you've accomplished what this tutorial was for - getting 64 bit :D

  • Argh! Can you make a windows tutorial?

  • @Legoman1ish I'm not too sure how to do it in windows, but i'm about 70% sure that it is just a matter of going to java.com and downloading the 64 bit version of java :)

  • Your Java tutorial worked for me. Many thanks.

  • dose this video apply to mac os x mountain lion?

  • @XxiChrisX As far as I know, mountain lion does not change anything about java (so it has 64 bit). Just follow the instructions and it definitely should work :)

  • i cant open minecraft at all

  • @thealex2200 In the description is a text tutorial, entitled "those who are having problems go here" or something like that. It may be easier to follow than the video If you would like to just remove the changes you've made, delete minecraft, and redownlaod it. You won't lose your saves as long as you just delete minecraft. Make backups if you want to be safe.

  • Thank you! Work great for me. :)

  • ..... Mac...

  • HELP! I CANT FIND FIREWORKS FOLDER!!! PLZ RESPOND!!!

  • @markozova Well i don't know where the fireworks folder is either XD but I do know where the frameworks folder is. Open a finder window, click on Macintosh HD on the right then:

    System>Library>Frameworks>JavaVM.framework>Versions>A>Resources>MacOS

Note you must go to macintosh hd then system then library. If you go to library through your user, it won't be there (Which is probably where you are now)

  • @TeamZonedOut Thaks! sorry..

there's only one problem... nothing changed? why? i have latest version of 64 java and all that stuff...

  • @markozova Triple check your plist, It is very very very easy to make a small typo, such as missing a bracket. Also did you set your java preferences correctly?

  • macs are for fags

  • @Ignore14 pcs are for kids, complaining about how they dont have a better computer ;)

  • @TacosRInsane are you kidding me? i'm running a gtx 580 with a 2600k processor overclocked 4.5ghz, it'll drown your mac in it's own shit.

  • @Ignore14 Nice!

  • @Ignore14 Yes and im pretty sure that my 12 core mac pro with 2 6 core intel xeon @2.93 ghz with 16gb of RAM and my two radeon HD 5870's would make your look like a fucking skid mark...

  • @GiorgioDubstep you built your own mac? I didn't even know that was possible. Cool, enjoy your shitty operating system and limited software use, faggot.

  • for windows>?

  • Did everything exactly, still have the message. :(

  • @EskayGFX Double check your plist for typos, those are common. Also did you gt he latest java update (links in description) finally did you replace java application stub? If you want to start over redowoad minecraft and it will have a fresh plist in it for you

  • Thanks so much!!!

  • uh, it didnt work for me. i did everything you did, but im still getting the stupid message when i put on far rendering

  • using mac? GAY!.....

  • @Kriller1987 Macs are awsome... Dont says no. Google use them, all big server companys use them,,,

  • @oep308 they are the furthest thing from 'awsome' they suck soo bad mac cant make a gaming computer worth buying!....

  • @Kriller1987 One thing, there not gaming computers... Sorry, going to use my proffesional video editing software that the TV use.

  • @Kriller1987 Huh. I didn't know the type of computer you use has anything to do with your sexual orientation. Grow up kid.

  • @TeamZonedOut or u could just shove another cock in ur mouth faggot.....

  • THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU

    <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • You are Awesome!!!!!! Thanks so much =D

  • thanks dude I love you as a friend of course :D

  • works great :D Thanks!

  • Thanks!!! finally a guy that does not hava an irritating voice :D

    And minecraft works :D:D:D:D

  • minecraft doesnt open anymore

  • @Ari3t You've made a mistake. Did you update your java? (link in description) Are you running leopard or later? Did you replace your java application stub? Did you set your java preferences? Did you check for typos in your plist? I Would love to help, check your console for errors when you launch up minecraft. I need as much information you can get me (System specs, etc) Send me a pm if you wish for further assistance :)

  • @TeamZonedOut the way the plist was edited was incorrect i watched another video and it all worked out in the end

  • @TeamZonedOut Hey! I tried this tutorial but it didnt work. Minecraft will not open any more. I thing i made a mistake with the JavaApplicationStub. Is their any way i can reset so i can start again?

  • @ObeyJoseph Yes, redownload minecraft from the website, and simply drag it into your applications folder. this will overwrite the app and you will still have your saves. DO NOT UNINSTALL MINECRAFT, overwrite it, or else you will lose your saves

  • @TeamZonedOut So now i just do what you do in the tutorial again?

  • @ObeyJoseph Yes, just take your time and be sure you have all updates installed

  • @Ari3t is the stub thing that happened to me too :)

  • Thank you heaps man. YOU ARE A LEGEND

  • Thanks soo much! This helped A LOT..i've been needing to get it to a 64 bit and all of the tutorials flew buy the steps too quickly for me to handle, but your tutorial was prefect! thanks<3

  • It fucking worked! :D

  • Jesus Christ fucking macsssss

  • 23 people are hardcore gamers with absouluttely no life, because they use windows...

  • not a must see if its for a mac...

  • @3SoccerPlayer3 it's a must see for mac users ;)

  • @TeamZonedOut why dnt you freaking put mac in the title insted of being misleading

  • @MSgtBooth1212 It's not misleading if the thumbnail for the video looks exactly like a Mac desktop...

  • Worked!!! Thanks and i subbed :)

  • Mac? Buy a REAL computer!

  • @r3mix3d26 lol macs came out first :p

and pc's is a fail copy, unless your talking about games.

  • @Gamer1188 PC beats Mac at games and Windows came first....

  • @r3mix3d26 thats why pc's are WAY better gaming computers.

  • Thanks so much, i have had this problem for ages and you have helped a lot.

  • HOLY HELL this is truly a dayto remembered. Some one who actually got it right...TOTALLY ROCK IM SUBBED 4 Life

  • THANK YOU!!!!!

  • I REPLACED THE WRONG APPLICATION STUB PLEASE HELP ME!!

  • @iPlayTutorials just reinstall your Java.. no big deal.

  • BIG UP! Thank you so much!

  • what did u do please get back to me my minecraft doesnt open anymore and i cant find it anywhere help :(

  • @MrJaedonhelloween If you want my help I need you to send me a private message in EXTREME detail about what version of Mac OSX you are running, how the problem came to be and any other details you think I need to know. I can tell you right now you did something seriously wrong becaue your minecraft shouldn't have moved what so ever.

  • OMG THANK YOU minecraft is running WAY more smoothly. And the far thing works without the message. THANKS THANKS THANK YOU

  • "for windows users I'm sorry".... man %^&k you!

  • @Gopeleto 64 bit should automatically use 64 bit if it available, so there is no need to "activate" it. There are tons of support topics on the minecraft forums if you need help.

  • @TeamZonedOut man fuck you

    i fucking swear

put fucking MAC in the fucking title

    mother fucker

  • you could have at least copy and pasted the cod into the description :(

  • java the hutt

  • would this work with a cracked mc

  • didn't work

  • @TheGeorgeCarney I would like to help you find your error, but "didn't work" isn't specific at all.

  • I have a 32 bit computer/ does it work with 64 bit Java do you think?

  • @EvoLuTionFloodz Most likely not

  • How do I get the 64 bit java into the Java preferences????

  • I also can't find Macintosh HD

  • PLEASE HELP. I have a Mac Snow Leopard that is v10.6.8 will the 10.6 update work?

  • @AT4makeTANKgoBOOM Lots of questions I see ;) 1) To find macintosh HD go to finder and in the top bar click: Go>Go to folder...> and search "/Macintosh HD" (no quotes)

    2) The 10.6 update should work, it won't let you install it if it doesn't (same with all apple updates that you get from their site)

    3) Java 64 will appear in the java preferences after the update is applied, because the update adds 64 bit java on your mac

  • @TeamZonedOut

Thanks! I fixed my first two problems but the 64 bit still wont show up. I downloaded it but how do I apply it.

  • @AT4makeTANKgoBOOM you should have downloaded a dmg, run it and install. Then restart. It should show up after that!

  • @TeamZonedOut

It still doesn't show up ;(

  • @AT4makeTANKgoBOOM I'm not too sure then, you'll need to contact apple about this if you are willing to go through the hassle.

  • U HAHHAH AASB DSHJGDGDKJJGFWJHDJHB HND F VNV JBFBFJDUDNUDUXN MACTARD

  • Thanks a lot for the detailed walk through of how to do this. After literally reading/watching 3 others and still failing, I finally came across yours in a desperate final attempt.

Turns out I had the array line AFTER the new X64 line which messed up the entire file.

    Again, thanks. Thumbs up

  • I have seen a few places with the same instructions and I am certain I have done everything right, but it still says that i am running 32 bit in minecraft. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

  • It works, thanks man u r d best

  • Don't worry - i found out that with lion, the OS hides MacintoshHD. its all good though, i found it and followed your video through. Thank you so much for posting this, it was very helpful :). Cheers mate

  • Very helpful video mate, but I'm sorry to say i couldn't find 'Macintosh HD' in my finder... i have a macbook air, would that be the problem? i did everything you said to up to that, but when i go on mine craft, it still says to upgrade to 64 bit java... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

  • I did this and when I try to open Minecraft it says, You can't open the application "Minecraft" because it is not supported on this architecture. I'm almost definite I did everything right

  • @TheNickdog573 What mac do you have? I just did some quick research and the best explanation is that your operating system may be too old. So when you did this, you never updated to 64 bit java or your computer is too old to have 64 bit installed. Let me know what OS you're on and I'll be able to help more.

  • I'm still lagging...

  • @xDJM4SHx I never said it would work for everyone. It may be your machine is too old. Try other methods such as optifine or spoutcraft. You could also have a faulty graphics card. Mine broke after a my first week of minecraft and apple fixed it under warranty XD

  • @TeamZonedOut i have this years macbook pro and i only lagoon far render distance

  • @xDJM4SHx Well everyone does, only high end computers won't, which you won't find on a macbook pro unfortunately. Do you have opengl turned on? Or another way to get far would be to turn off smooth lighting or fancy graphics, which is why I use normal because I can't go without smooth lighting!

  • @TeamZonedOut i don't know what opengl is but ohwell ill just play on normal render distance

  • @xDJM4SHx

Try setting the Graphics to Fast

    Smooth lighting: On

    Gui Scale: normal

    Preformance : MaxFPS

And then go to task manager , right click on Minecraft , click on view process or seomthing like that , then right click on what should be Javaw or ssomething, then go to priority , set to High

  • @MrFearlesskiller Well your making a fool of yourself and wasting your time. The reason there are now indows tutorials is due to the fact that windows will automatically use 64 bit if it is available.y suggestion to you is to go to the oracle website and download 64 bit for your windows version.

  • fucking mac we want windows

  • Lion Link Dosnt WOrk :(

  • @SuperMinecraftBrosMC It does work, just clicked it, what country are you in? I think the link only works for US, so you'll have to google "Java for OSX Lion Update 1"

  • @TeamZonedOut I live in Aus ill try that. Altho i think i already have it installed. Anyway Thx for the help with SpoutCraft do you have a vid on how to install Minecraft Mods?

    Thx again

  • @SuperMinecraftBrosMC Yes I do, but it is fairly old (but still works the same!). You can look at it here: (put youtube url here) /watch?v=Y8_Ir5Iy8gU

  • Will this work for Minecraft 1.0.0.? And also once I did this tutorial my Minecraft would not start up so I deleted it & reinstalled. BTW I have the latest MacBook Pro.

  • @fr33willie Yes it does work for minecraft 1.0.0, and it didn't start up because you missed something, made a typo or don't have the java update installed. Go to the link in the description for a written tutorial to check if your plist has any typos.

  • Comment removed

  • @fr33willie Oh Pick me! Pick me! Alright, you NEED to update the java application stub as I indicated in the video, so an alternate way to get to the frameworks folder shown in the video would be: Go to finder, then in the toolbar click Go>Go to Folder... and then type (without parenthesis) "/Macintosh HD/System/Library/Frameworks" the press return and follow the video from there. Let me know if you need any more help

  • @TeamZonedOut Allright i got it, It all works now ! Thanks bro, great tutorial

  • Why all installtation videos are only for mac

  • @sekra2 Because 64 bit is automagically used on windows if it is installed....

  • Okay, so with the amounts of mods I have, I have multiple minecraft folders in Users>[my name]>Library>Application Support. I also sometimes use spoutcraft. Will this add 64-bit to all of them?

  • @TheKingKookie it will for everything except spoutcraft. That mod uses a seperate app support and plist, and i'm not sure how to enable it. You probably won't need it after this though, my fps shot up 20 fps easily

  • @iShowYouGamesAndTech Yeah, you need to open the bottom of it and dust it out with compressed air. Make sure to do it from about 12 inches away so there is no moisture contact. I did that to mine and it doesn't get nearly as hot.

  • @iShowYouGamesAndTech No Problem!

  • Thank You :D

  • @andrew2000rubiks Glad it helped!

  • So will this reduce lag when playing MineCraft?

Nice, i have yet to fined Java 64 bit though. Could you give a download link assuming it's not something you buy? Please reply, thank you. :)

  • @38supernova I'm updating the description now with the links, and yes it will reduce lag, some more than others. Oh and the update is free :) Make sure you run a software update first though! and follow the instructions on apples page

  • @TeamZonedOut Thanks for the help. :)

  • @TeamZonedOut Thanks for the help!

  • I wish I had a 64-bit Java instead of 32-bit Java

    32-bits these days.

  • @LetsPlayMinecraft553 What version are you on? if you are on leopard (snow leopard maybe?) or later you can grab an update to get 64 bit. Link is in description

  • I'm view 6666

  • @EndrioFelipe1 SOMEBODY QUICK! LOOK AT MY VIDEO! lol

  • you only must download and install java 64

    than it works

  • @darthdavid241199 You can download it and install it, but minecraft will still use java 32 until you tell it to. Java 32 isn't erased when 64 is installed, to maintain compatibility.

  • have any tips if I did this and now minecraft won't open??

  • @thejoet193 check the description for the link to help.

  • NVM... I made a stupid little typo >_<. worked great THANKS!!!!!

  • When I follow these instructions to the T it tells me I can't open the application because it may be damaged or incomplete.... anyone else having the same problem?!

  • @NoVanity1 me. i did everything in the vid, and now it wont open. HEEEELLLP!

  • @thejoet193

Triple check everything mate. I had to recheck my info.plist a good 4 or 5 times. If a single character is off (if the spaces) then it won't work.

  • Mac FTW t(-.-t)

  • SWEET!! You are awesome. Now if someone could help me make a mac minecraft server with as much step by step detail as you just did, I might finally be able to utilize minecraft to its fullest! Thank you so much

  • @BULLSHIT1173 Hmm.. I thought I had one, well I guess I might have to make one... What do you think, bukkit? Or Vanilla?

  • snow leopard or higher just saying

  • @xMIn3CrAftx nope. Java update 10 for Mac OS X 10.5 fixes this. support.apple.com/kb/DL1359?viewlocale=en_US

  • @xMIn3CrAftx Oh and if you would like further assisrtance in setting this up on 10.5, please check the link in the description and scroll down on the forum page to the section entitled "Force Java 6 and 64 Bit" under the "Launcher" Section. Hopes this helps.

  • thanks a lot man, i still get the message about 32 bit but it runs very smooth on far anyway

  • @Chiliplease Thats interesting, but glad to know it helped!

  • you rock!

  • Thank you sooooooooo much!!!!

  • I did what you said, it doesn't tell me that i need 64 bit java but it still drops frames like a bitch when i run on Far.

  • @MrTomHirst What is your system? (ghz, ram) I think it may just be a slow computer or you might not have sufficient memory allocated.

  • @TeamZonedOut I doubt it, its a 21.5" iMac it less than i year old, its got 4gb of memory? my head is blagged

  • @MrTomHirst less than a year old? It's your graphics card then. I've read around and those AMD's are giving tons of imac users hell. There is very little you can do unless you're in the mood to buy a new comp already. I would suggest you search the support forums and get the optifine mod. Shame considering you have an i5 or i7 processor...

  • Wow, my minecraft wont even open now ! i did EVERYTHING you said and did it right !

  • @pointFANBOY SAME

  • @RoLuTV If minecraft didn't open then you didn't follow what I said. If you did don't you think it would have opened like it did for me and everyone else? Check for typos, check your java preferences, check for updates to comp, make sure you're on leopard and up, and if all else fails check the description for a link to help! Let me know how it goes and I'll try my best to assist you.

  • Why won't my minecraft use 64 bit even though i have both a 64 bit OS and 64 bit Java

  • Can you do Windows?
