  • Fail sorry

  • Tb your awesome theory insight full

  • Unbelievable about the devs getting *everything* stolen. Either it's a lie or stupidly irresponsible or both. Off to reddit to check out that thread...

  • I wonder how difficult it is to continually talk to yourself while playing a game without spacing off and forgetting to commentate.

  • So right about Skyrim and the stuff about complexity and depth. Why don't people realise this stuff beforehand?

  • It's ironic that you should mention the possibility of your house catching fire and losing your data in the fire seeing as my house actually caught fire on the 17th and I lost my pc in the fire x)

  • tries to watch episode 32 of the terraria play through.....oh wait. *glares*

  • TB, the Project Zomboid developers aren't the only one who forgets to back up.... :p

  • Creep denying is competitive like denying your tower, IF its almost destroyed why not destroy it so they don´t get money for it ? LIKE doesn´t it sound dumb that you actually get XP if someone else kills the enemy creep ? or you get XP at all just for killing some creep ? I mean cmon LoL is so casual so "user" friendly it´s annoying how people who play LoL are against, Dota ,Dota2 and HoN the skill ceiling in these games are so MUCH higher then in LoL and that´s why most "casual" gamers play it.

  • @Baleur Yep, but I don't think it's the dev's fault so much as the publishers'; the publishers push for a finished & polished console release because that's where the money is, which is fine if they give the devs time to do the same with the PC release...which they often don't, because they refuse to delay the console launch for a PC release. I agree; the "oh, we'll just patch it" attitude is infuriating. Charging full price for essentially a damaged/unusable product is not good business. -_-

  • LMAO at "Scrolls"

  • Comment removed

  • People in dota, who don't deny creeps, usually play around similar ranked players, who don't deny them either. (in dota2 matchmaking makes sure of it) So its like playing LoL. If the mechanic is there, let people use it who want to. Those who think its stupid, don't have to do it :)

  • Well they arnt really paying for the alpha they paid for a game that was finished and they got the alpha as a "gift" : /

  • I am... upset.

There is not enough QQ in the comment's about creep denying.

  • love the end theme music sooo much

  • IMHO Elder Scrolls series went a bit too far with the merging of skills..

I do get why they got rid of swimming skill, athletics etc. BUT I'm still wondering on why the hell did they get rid of Hand to Hand skill?!?

For me, It's always been one of my favorite skills of all time, as you were able to roleplay classes such as Monks and other pacifist characters.

AND they have got rid of some cool mechanics like season changes, boat/house/horse owning, time limits and real-like combat mechanics.

  • @ZxIroNxZ hey, 10 bucks is 10 bucks, thats like 6 days worth of KD :D

  • JUST SAY NO TO CREEP DENYING!!!!

    W000T !!!!!

  • 'Professionals have standards'

    - TF2 Sniper

    'Having standards is professional'

    -Total Biscuit

  • "Oh sorry I've just entered some kind of trademark infringement by saying the world scrolls. Hooly crap getting sued by Bethesda. brb." Oh TB, I love your videos!

  • @Westycoot i laughed a lot when he said that.

  • I love you TB, but your "anti creep denying" stand is... awful. Fuck you. Creep denying is bloody brilliant.

    Loves and kisses. xx

  • This is posted on my birthday ;D

  • YAY I FEATURED ME <3, IN HIS MAILBOX!! Thanks for the feedback TB you have changed my perspective. After the info you bombarded me with I tend to agree with you. :)

    -Camzore

  • is this guy actually trolling me about dota 2?

  • I have 2 extra physically hard drives installed just for backup. And I have one external for another. This is just for my personal stuff. XD Who doesn't back up their own crap that they care about.

  • fuck you littlewoods its only October!!!

  • What game is this?

  • @feldevourer This is why we have descriptions.

  • creeps*

  • As a dota player of 7 years, creep denying makes it so more skilled players can effectivly control a lane, if your better you should have more control, look at lik first person shooters where you deny yourself your right it makes no sense story or sense wise but it adds elements to the game, that gives the greater player control, Plus LoL is meant to be noob friendly which is why it was left out which is why competetive lol is a lulzworthy oxymoron.

  • @TiThor3 this. So true.

  • @TiThor3 I agree on your post for most part.

But just because you cant deny minions in lol dont make it more noob friendly. It just makes it more focus on more interaction to stop the enemy player from farming in other maners. Lol is more team fight depended so THATS were the good vs the bad players are often sorted out in lol.

I love and have played both games very much so dont take this like im a super lol fanboy. I just dont like when people take lol so noob friendly.

  • @Lirzan Its a fact that the more mechanics you take out the easier it gets, if we took strikes out of baseball the game would be a lot more noob friendly. But Lol itself isnt more team fight orriented in the slightest, maybe dominon is but thats cause its like lol but without the creeps, also the free to play model is meant to be noob friendly look what happened in tf2 people banned freeners cause they said they where too noobie.

  • @TiThor3 "Its a fact that the more mechanics you take out the easier it gets"

no, it isnt. Go has a single mechanic. However, Unlike chess, they have never been able to make a computer that can convincingly beat a human player. Despite the fact that chess has many more mechanics.

  • @boorman ....Then its just one really hard mechanic. Also most ai Is just using math, some math such as spatial sense are nearly impossible for computers of todays calibur, however humans can do it fantastically cause thats something we have. This is now a conversation about how the human brain still trumps computers in areas.

  • @TiThor3 actually, its an incredibly easy mechanic. The difficulty comes when the many options of using it open up.

the idea that the NUMBER of mechanics is a defining aspect of how difficult a game is,or how much skill is needed to play it, is a myth. always has been.

this becomes obvious as soon as you think about how many games over the years have put mechanics into their games that made things easier.

  • The next Scrolls game... GAAAAH, copyright infringement!! Lol, thats why I love you, TB.

  • tf2 sniper huh?

ya know whats funny about when tf2 whent free to play installed it and haven't been able to use it and there was a shred of data that didn't download

    until now

    SON OF A BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH!!

  • Just how much hate for your own product does it show when you don't even bother backing it up?

  • "...creep denying in DotA, a terrible mechanic!"

    AAAAAWWWWWW

    YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!

  • ... and now im curious about yesterday's deleted video xD

  • can anyone else hear weird voices in the backgorund to this vid ?

  • *active slow-clap processor*

    I love you, TB!

  • 11:40 and this is why I love him

  • thanks tb for uploading such hi quality content i always look foward to your vid thank

  • Oh no you didnt just diss dota

  • @MAATIR yepp he did

  • I loved the 'professional's have standards' TF2 reference ;)

  • BLACK MAGIC!!! I KNEW TB WAS FROM HOGWARTS!

  • I agree about Skyrim, if they can make the RPG part more transparent and less time looking at menus it will be better. There will still be plenty of menus and stats when you need to have a look. I think Vice City sets a standard for being seamless, you hardly had to look at any menus

  • The Zombiod team needs to get there shit organized. Keep back ups, use drop box, maybe a PR class or two for them.

  • i dont think its stupid to be able to kill your own creeps if ur opponents gain something by killing them.

  • I miss Azaroth daily :(

But this is awesome too ;3

  • lololol I saw the DotA bashing comming a mile away

  • Getting me riled up with Deny-rant: Accomplished!

Just because you do not like something, doesn't mean it doesn't add depth to the game >.>

  • I think, as is quite often the case, you're not just being cynical but you're being fairly unreasonable. It seems to me that Binky is not trying to defend the lack of a backup in that blog post but simply Lemmy's Twitter outburst. The team has already apologised profusely for neglecting to backup in the form of various blog posts in various places, they have not and will not however apologise for how horrible some members of the community have been in lashing out against them. Yourself included.

  • Question 1 (Zomboid) - 0:45

    Question 2 (Elder Scrolls) - 10:10

Question 3 (N/A) - Only two questions, sorry chaps.

  • In Morrowind I couldn't cast heal successfully because my skill level was too low, and I couldn't get a higher skill level because skill only increased with successful spellcasting. Retarded.

In Oblivion I could cast whatever I wanted as long as I had the skill level and mana for it. That's not too bad, but I hate mana systems with a passion.

In Skyrim there is no fucking mana! HUZZAAAH!

  • but that givs you xp and aoul stones 16:15

  • Comment removed

  • Backing up is too much effort...

  • I'm sorry but removing elements like athletics and acrobatics takes away character options, we can no longer jump higher or run faster, how does this make it a better game? And how does reducing the amount of armor customization make it a better game?

  • Removing denying from DotA is the same as removing benefits (gold) from killing creep, heroes and towers. Because if i can not stop you from gathering resources and you can not stop me from doing it there is no need to have resources since we both will have the same amount. Making gold irrelevant.

  • @skosdi Ever heard of zoning?

Forcing your enemy to either get the gold and experience from that one minion or take tons of damage from you.

It adds a whole shitload more tactic to the game, makes it far less of a farmfest, and removes failed denies.

    Boom

  • @WlatPziupp you are aware that that principle applies even if we have denies? Also that only applies to melee heroes since a range will not have decide on either and can farm without regret.

  • @skosdi Yes they do.

  • @WlatPziupp ever heard of creep agro?

  • "&wadsworth=1" Doesn't apply. Wadsqorth contasnt never apply's with TB :P

  • oh god TB going to get sued... he used scroll in his vid....

  • Think is I didn't have any problem with TES leveling system in either Morrowind or Oblivion. I think the question was more directed at the fact that it'll attract the 'COD' variety of gamers, call it elitism if you want but a football fan would be angry at an idiot who started yapping on about something he didn't know about football just the same as we would get angry at an idiot yapping on about gaming when they know nothing about it, or are in fact not a gamer.

  • you know its serious when someone writes a whole paragraph-_-

  • holy crap tb knows his stuff, really impressed with his knowledge on morrowind levelling system, it was kinda dumb now i think about it haha, being a warrior and picking all mage abilities was extremely counter intuitive.

  • I Love dota and i play a lot of hon and loving them both, i can agree that creep deniing is dumb, but its pretty fun when you get used to it, it makes the game a lot better if you ask me, but ye its a really dumb thing to kill your own unit ^^

  • Hang on TB, it says on your youtube channel page that you are not not funny nor do you strive to be funny.

  • You just reminded me of the horrible hotkey system for skills back in Dota.

  • And here I thought that software development would at least use SOME sort of source code version control. That's the first thing I learned :)

Off-site backups are a must for any company.

  • Yeah, It's stupid to make me kill members of my own team and say that makes the game harder and that justifies it...

  • I agree completely that creep denying was an incredibly dumb mechanic in dota. It's one of the reasons why I don't like HoN and why I love LoL. I was so happy when they remade Gangplank and removed that aspect of his gameplay.

  • @Outerspaceman21 TBH creep denying has one thing going for it: you can control where the creepwave is. That is extremely beneficial. As it stands now if you are pusher top you push the wave to the enemy tower and bluepill, if you are a defensive you try to tank creeps outside towerrange and get as many cs in towerrange as possible. The problem starts when the lanes are even and the waves just bounce around and leave you no chance to bluepill for a ward. So you get ganked or lose tower.

  • But otherwise I agree and I'm a LoL fan too:)

  • I like you TB hell I even love you BUT MESS WITH MY DAMN CREEP DENYING AND ILL SHOW YOU A SADFACE.GIF!!! lol

  • Regarding Skyrim everything I have seen so far has been major improvements. The only thing I’m worried about is the attribute system; I hated the fallout 3 & new vegas attribute system, you specialise in one or two things and are useless at the rest. I really hope they don’t use the same system in Skyrim.

  • @TherianthropeAndrewH they dont, everything is focused more on your skills and attributes are completely removed, when you level up you instead increase your health, magicka or stamina, and then choose a perk.

    No attributes whatsoever

  • The DotA creeps are stupid anyways :) I don't mind denying at all, even if it doesn't make sense.

  • BAHAHAH THE DOTA 2 COMMENT HAHAHAHHA! zomg genius, I for one love dota and think it's amazing but everyone has their opinions =) <3

  • i thought TB doesnt look at comments....

  • Getting sued by Bethesday by BRB. Made me ROFL so hard.

  • All the shitcunt dota players agree with TB because they got denied by a pro, faggots.

  • I do 100% agree with Tb on the denying. Its dumb, and annoying to unskilled players, while its also something to exploit by the pros to make learning the game difficult.

Dota 2 is very draggy and seriously, i am thinking of trying LoL because its a refined experience.

  • This is the only youtube channel that make me proud to subscribe.

    Thanks, TB.

  • I kinda would have liked to see a WTF of Costume Quest...

  • Brining back the Cynical in Cynical Brit.

  • Reminded me of my IT teacher: "If it's not backed up 3 times it doesn't exist!" :D

  • do you take multiple takes of a video?

  • Oh my god... Right before the professionalism rant I thought "Look mate, Professionals have Standards". What do I hear 10 seconds later? "The Tf2 sniper agrees with me on that one"

    MIND FUCK

  • since you dont give a damn about 10 bucks, can i have 10 bucks?

  • @Th3M3t4lM4n You need it that badly?

  • @riveraluciano thanks

  • when are u doing the wtf is of nuclear dawn

  • Creep denying serves a specific purpose.

It helps to prevent passive playstyles, and adds depth to an otherwise 'flat' early laning phase. Denying is a good mechanic that allows a skilled player to eek out an advantage and establish dominance over the opponent. It is a mechanic that revolves around competitive play, in a highly competitive game.

Players that enjoy competing, also enjoy creep denying for the specific purpose it serves and because it allows them to manipulate game flow.

  • @nazi8per +1 creep denying is function that although complicates the game, makes perfect sense and separates the players that know what they're doing to the ones that don't. It's perposeful killing of your own units, making sure they get every hit off they can before taking them out to prevent your opponent from getting stronger.

  • being sued by bethesda brb...

    lol

  • i agree with dore914 a junk box would be intresting you dont have to be the funniest guy on the planet TB ir mught be fun to see you be bad lol i dont think it would be any worse then those lets plays you see from amatuers trying to be funny

  • I THOUGHT HE WAS PLAYING A TOWER DEFENSE GAME! MIND = BLOWN :O

  • i have no idea what was going on in nuclear dawn lol

  • @Baleur You can choose skills, just not at the beginning of the game, you "choose" the skills by using them more and with guardian stones and other new features in Skryim. Watch the gameplay trailer, it makes a lot more sense.

  • Comment removed

  • 2nd email is a guy trying to suck up.

  • Bethesda "You just got sued, buddy"

    Notch "Why?"

Bethesda"You named your game Scrolls. we copyrighted The Elder Scrolls. You are an idiot for naming your game a copyrighted name, and are being sued."

    Notch "wtf?"

  • @TheKillerCereal Notch won bro.

  • @ricksyrisks so? Its still a stupid reason to file a lawsuit

  • it wasnt funny in any way ??? but your channel says you dont pretend that your a funny person TB? :P (yes im one of the minority who actually read you channel page in surch for awnsers to questions)

  • Well, tbh imo everyone needs to watch what they say. In youtube video maker case it doesn't hurt that much if the maker calls some viewers with names for example in other medias. But in the end, if the maker calls every viewer with names in the actual products (videos) they won't stay for long even if the products are otherwise great (unless the whole calling ppl with names is part of the style and viewers love it).

Agreed with TB. Indie devs cannot afford to call their customers with names.

  • I think TB missed the mark with binky's blog, Binky is saying that they aren't going to be polite because they dont want to not that indies are unproffessional, but thats just me

  • 11:40 lol

  • Comment removed

  • I just read that blog post. Yikes.

  • Comment removed

  • You may find it rediculous but It makes just as much sense as last hitting creeps does, the idea is to prevent the enemy to get the last hit by taking the last hit from them.

It's honestly not that hard to understand if you think about how the last hitting works in these kinds of games.

  • ... i think he meant "as [you] already know"

you cant read deal w/ it

  • in oblivion i think leveling being fixed is a good thing, wether you believe it or not i made lvl 20-21 in just 30 being a caster, just hold block and spamming a self cast spell of a skill and it flys by

  • You lost me at "denying is ridiculous." Ridding your opponents of experience is counterintuitive? So I guess dying in an optimal spot for your teammate to recap your AK47 instead of handing it over to the enemy team in CounterStrike is counterintuitive as well? Derp.

  • @Iced1992 WOOOOSH.

  • heh, all these filthy posts by dota players just goes to show what nasty little basement dwellers play this game. we can all rest easy knowing they lives consist of quiet nerdy ostracized desperation.

  • "As you know the game,"

    ....I lost....

  • haha getting sued by bethesda BRB i lol'd! Mojang all the way!

  • buttsecks?

  • WHERE IS OUR LEAGUE OF LEGEND SKIN REVIEWS?!?!?!?!?

  • Light armor, Medium Armor, Heavy Armor, Armor noise reduction... remember that BULLSHIT in morrwind... Oh whats this, some armor, oh damn i only have those two armor skills, so this is useless! YAY!

  • @udienowisay Yeah, I also like how they turned Blade and Blunt into 1 hand and 2 hand, because it was stupid as hell. Oh I've found this amazing enchanted axe! But since I am not trained in swinging an axe around I'll just toss it away! It's not like swinging a sword or an axe around makes a big difference.

  • @udienowisay LOL I totallyh forgot about that bs, some of the mechanics were very absurd in Morrowind, but still overall I did <3 the game.

  • @99bulldog me too, one of the best games of al time :D

  • CaptainBinky sounds like a complete tool and seems to forget that if he's being paid for something then he's a professional, and that certain standards are expected by his customers. I'd rather drop $60 to a company that delivered a solid product than one that took $10, pocketed it and told me to f**k off.

  • AHAHAHAHA I LOVE YOU TB! I JUST HEARD YOU SAY CREEP DENYING

  • Only MMOs are dumbed down?! Yeah, okay there, nice to ignore most former PC games that are now on consoles and how they've been simplified. Once developers realized they can sell more on consoles, the trend towards simplifying games for a greater audience and an easier control scheme began.

  • @ThisVideoAnnoyedMe He never said that! He said it was the most important for MMOs!

  • I accepted it was bad, it was a bad video.

    bad video bad! lol

  • @Totaldotbot i think its pretty obvious why i would. some questions i care nothing about. like league of legends/HoN controversy so i skip thru them. but im skipping slowly cause i dont want to miss the next questions.

  • @MariosGuy Since i watch every question It's not quite obvious to me.

  • how many people looked down at comments when TB made the dota comment about denying

  • @fishman983 I don't with all honesty the only time I see a means in killing your own minions is if by doing so you gained heath or got a power up in some fashion because that is an ability you might have.

  • @PaleMexican just want you to know. doooooooooooooooooont give a shit! nor do i wish to get into this conversation because its as retarded as argueing what game system is better.

  • I would hire TB to design my game.

  • @Amainville93 The older ones as in the text ones? Or do you mean like... Morrowind? Cause no, that didn't have very impressive action style gameplay. Don't get me wrong, the series has never been bad, but gameplay-wise it's never been action fun. I'd much more prefer a KH or Dark/Demon Souls style action RPG when it comes to the action gameplay. Elder Scrolls has great worlds, exploring, story, and does have character management that's pretty good.

  • @Vicioussama When I said "the older ones did" I meant they required more brainpower to make an extremely effective character. Everything else you said I agree with. Still, I'm pretty sure Skyrim will fix the fact that the combat is rather lackluster. Blocking requires timing, and you have more options thanks to the fact that you can now dual-wield, as well as a more in-depth perks system. According to GameInformer, each skill has perks that are shaped like star constellations, non-linear upgrade

  • @Amainville93 Ah ok, I was thinking brainpower as in when you're actually in the fights and the, you know, action part of the RPG :P so little brain power and I'm very hopeful Skyrim will fix that. If it is, awesome. The other (less of a concern really) problem I had with older elder scrolls was the unblinking eyes. Oh god were those weird.

  • @Vicioussama Yeah, the NPCs looked like robots, even in Oblivion. Luckily, Skyrim seems to have fixed all of that. In terms of brainpower involved in combat, I know fighting dragons will be difficult, thanks to the fact that they can fly. Also, what I read in GameInformer said that, when the guy made his first character, when he happened upon a pack of wolves, they actually split up and flanked him. Hopefully other enemies use those sorts of tactics as well.

  • @Amainville93 the brief footage I've seen of Skyrim NPCs didn't seem to fix it, but I'll see for myself with the game comes out. And wolves flanking? Awesome. If most (not all, some can be stupid) of the enemies in that game are smart or challenging for whatever reason I'll be a happy gamer.

  • @Vicioussama In regard to the NPCs, I can safely say it's probably better than Oblivion. The whole "freeze time and focus on face" thing was ridiculous.

  • @Amainville93 there were a few things about oblivion that were ridiculous :\ I REALLY hope that they don't have monsters level with you in the same way as Oblivion or FF8. I'd prefer not at all. That kinda system is dumb as balls in an RPG. Basically makes levels pointless.

  • @Vicioussama They do level with you, but only in isolated cases. When a quest points you to the cave or dungeon (usually one of the ones that the game makes for you, not the plot-sensitive ones, I think), when you arrive at said dungeon, the enemies there will be populated and made to your level. However, they stay at the level they spawned at forever. You see rats when you go int he first time, they'll stay rats forever, and not morph into minotaurs or some nonsense.

  • @Amainville93 hmm, not sure how I feel about that yet, guess when I play it we'll see. I just tend to hate the "level with you" mechanic thrown into RPGs. It seems like a lazy way to try and keep it challenging and actually discourages leveling. Especially in the case of FF8 where the optimal way to play is to NOT level :|

  • @MonkeyWithKnives you mad I speak the truth, bro? Seriously, the gameplay has ALWAYS been easy. As action RPG goes, there are better (gameplay-wise). Kingdom Hearts, the first Gothic game in the series (where you could actually control the swing of your sword and do combos), Dark and Demon Souls (though some claim that's an action game with RPG elements, I disagree, gameplay-wise it's very much an action RPG with a higher emphasis on action).

  • Hmm, a little thought for TB, why not create a "Junk Box" type channel where you can just dump all the stuff you don't think is good enough for this channel, instead of deleting it. Im guess quiet a lot of people wouldn't be too bothered about that "bad quality" as you put it.

  • @Dore914 because then no one would watch it, why would they watch something over really bad quality over his better stuff, it would be more of a "tb's worst moments" channel, and that would make him look bad, and he is wayy better then that, and i believe everyone here would agree with that (of course not everyone agrees, but hey, a simple man can hope) :)

  • @Dore914 he could call it TotalJunk :D

  • lol tb rage

  • I agree 100% about needlessly complex mechanics. It's exactly what turned me off to Oblivion. However I might be willing to give Skyrim a chance with this news.

    Also DOTA. Depth. Lolwut?

  • my goodness he is so right about oblivion, i spen years getting my merchantile, speechcraft, and other random boring and lame skills up to make myself ultra powerful..... it made it less fun.

  • LOL he said scrolls

  • i don't really watch the gameplay mailbox videos, I just set my iPod down next to me in bed and just listen to tb's rants. million times better than radio

  • @nags555 good to see im not the only one who does that

  • totalbiscuit for president 2012

  • @zotaxlooopy i agree
