  • I could listen to this music all day. Thanks for your video!

  • you make great reviews and your lp:s are just as good!

  • Wow, the music is really distracting during the dialogue. You'd think they would turn it down just a bit.

  • @superdeeduper51 The game actually does lower the music somewhat when someone speaks. You can also lower the music level separately from the voices, but I didn't do that. So it's more my fault in that regard then the game's... I just love the music so much I guess haha.

  • I like how you say Prezzies.

  • @ShogunGin0 Haha, thanks.

  • kickass! been waiting for this one. thanks seb!

  • @OxbowisaMstie Thank you for checking it out!

  • This versions is really superior to the DOS version. Awesome!

  • @MrVenom1974 Yeah, apart from the CD access times being quite long, this is the superior version for sure :).

  • @HalfBlindGamer It this a rare game - based on CD-i standards, of course ;-) or is it really common?

  • @MrVenom1974 It's a fairly late game in the system's life, which makes it somewhat uncommon. Being one of the better games however, many people picked it up, so it's quite common to see it in a stack of games for CD-i. It's not sought after much, so it's also pretty cheap. Usually it can easily be had for well under 10 bucks. The MS-DOS version might be more common, but tends to go for higher prices.

  • Thanks

  • Is the soundtrack on ebay do you know ?

  • @timeteam1982 You might be able to find it on eBay, not sure. I know of two online shops that carry it though:

    synsoniqDOTcom

    shooting-starDOTcom (French)

  • Prince adam oh no its he man . I watching this for hints cuz hope to re play it soon

  • Where do you vote for the games

  • @timeteam1982 On my channel page I've got a moderator module up that let's you vote on (thumbs up/down) suggestions or offer new ones.

  • HOLY SHIT MY CHILDHOOD GAME

  • @bradzboy You sir, had a fine childhood, or well, at least that part was fine :D

  • I remember when graphics like these were impressive. I didn't have a PC as a kid, but a buddy of mine back then did. Man the games he was playing blew away my SNES in the graphics department.

  • @Jprime777 Oh yeah, you could have some cool games with impressive graphics. They did often lack in the gameplay department though. Good example of that that jumps to mind right away is Mega Race, man that game was bizarre! It looked really sweet too on PC, but gameplay was pretty shallow. But screw it, it was still awesome :D

We didn't have a computer at home, but at school we had plenty. Most of my MS-DOS memories come from there, school was awesome lol.

  • WOW! this looks really fantastic Seb! I like the name of the guardian, Fug? haha, crazy name. Wild that you sometimes have to talk to characters many times before getting those presents, well, at least with the monk. This was great and the music was nice like you said Seb.

  • @lukemorse1 Haha, cool Luke, and yeah that name (Thug) is a big odd... and they did that on purpose, I swear! You'll see later on :)

  • Oh GOD Seb, thanks for taking the CD-i version! I'd much rather wait for a good presentation than take the bad presentation for shorter loading times :D

Also, i never got to play this game, so it's really interesting... The time basically just flew out of the window when i watched it =D

  • @Bonemiath Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it and hope you'll enjoy the following parts as well :) When just going through the game again, I must admit I prefer the DOS version, since the loading times can drive me up the walls. But the audio/video presentation is A LOT better in the CD-i version, can't deny that.

  • That pterodactyl is kinda trippy. but funny as heck!

  • @1337Lucky Hah, yeah, we'll be seeing lots of him too throughout the game haha.

  • I'll have to admit, the music is really nice and the game looks interesting to play.

  • @cguevara12 The game is good in pulling you in, there are more interesting games when it comes to actual gameplay, but the music and setting are really good in this one.

  • @HalfBlindGamer - It was like being a character in a film, which was a pretty new experience at the time for people who grew up with Megaman and such.

  • the cdi version looks so fuckin good O_O

  • @MrBroken030 Sure does, very crisp graphics compared to the other versions!

  • Oh man I so forgot about this game but the soundtrack really brought things back to me. Quite enjoyed this game back in the day despite its flaws.

  • @markvergeer It is an amazing game with a fantastic soundtrack. It sure has it's flaws when it comes to actual gameplay, but it really manages to suck you into its world, got to admire it for that!

  • A very interesting looking game, make no mistake! I shall definitely look forward to future parts of this one! :D

8:24 - "meet Fuck!" lol, that's what it sounded like, anyway! XD

Ooh, you're getting an upscaler. I might have to send you a PM about that should it work out well for you, Seb. :)

  • @AtsumaKarin Haha, I knew someone would bring that up! But I can't help it! It's like the dev's named him Thug on purpose, I swear! You'll see why later on...

It's a very cheap upscaler, since I don't have the funds for anything fancy, so I'm not expecting too much, but I've got to think of something soon since this old card is dieing out soon. It becomes harder and hard to tape everything in such a way that the signal is bearable haha.

  • Wow, this game looks pretty good. Nice graphics for the time, excellent music, decent voice acting...my main problem, though, is the pauses between dialogue.

  • @MastermewtwoALPHA The pauses are very frustrating indeed. The MS-DOS version doesn't have them at all, there you just click and they start talking. But the sound quality takes a real dip in that one (not only the music, the voices sound compressed too). From what I've heard, the 3DO version fall somewhere in between. Not looking as nice as the CD-i version, but having slightly better load times in some spots.

  • I remember being blown away by this game when I played it on DOS back in the day. It's a really interesting game as far as the storyline, though I remember having a hard time with a lot of the puzzles.

  • @usunoro It's an awesome game, easily one of my favourites on CD-i. I never really had much trouble with figuring out what to do to be honest, but the open ended nature of the game is kind of confusing. Generally speaking though, the game does do a good job of pointing you in the right direction I think.

  • @HalfBlindGamer Probably had more to do with me being like 12, and I've never been good at adventure games than the game itself being hard :P

  • @usunoro err.. 12 at the time

  • @usunoro Hehe, yeah I can totally understand that. First time I played FF7 I couldn't even defeat the first boss and gave up lol. Funny though, some other games I was much better at when I was younger.

This game does have some spots where you need to try some things on your own which don't seem to obvious, I can think of one part that could get a lot of people stuck now that I think about it. Overall, it's much easier and more plentiful with hints then most adventure games though.
