i was at this game and it wasn't just the swedish goalie diving it was the whole team......completely shameful.....It was funny too cause Swedish fans were so cocky that year saying they were going to smoke Canada, and how they were the best team....after they got smoked they started whining and complaining about the reffing.. They had a good team that year with MSP, Hedmen, Karlsson, and Markstrom ect., but they lost focus, Concentrated too much on diving, and didn't capitalize on powerplays.
The first one was a dive, the next two were Dive-strom leaving the crease like that to draw penalties purposefully, because he knew his team had no chance against Canada playing a fair game, seriously, in the NHL a goalie would NEVER go out that far if an opposing player was coming in like that. If the referee would have done his job and called an unsportsmanlike, Canada wouldn't have been so frustrated. Sweden should have been barred from international play for a long time after this.

i was at this game and it wasn't just the swedish goalie diving it was the whole team......completely shameful.....It was funny too cause Swedish fans were so cocky that year saying they were going to smoke Canada, and how they were the best team....after they got smoked they started whining and complaining about the reffing.. They had a good team that year with MSP, Hedmen, Karlsson, and Markstrom ect., but they lost focus, Concentrated too much on diving, and didn't capitalize on powerplays.

The first one was a dive, the next two were Dive-strom leaving the crease like that to draw penalties purposefully, because he knew his team had no chance against Canada playing a fair game, seriously, in the NHL a goalie would NEVER go out that far if an opposing player was coming in like that. If the referee would have done his job and called an unsportsmanlike, Canada wouldn't have been so frustrated. Sweden should have been barred from international play for a long time after this.
