When the operator depresses a pedal (or handle, on rare occasion), the pilot bearing is forced into lever-type mechanism (spring loaded), releasing the plate from gripping the disk to the flywheel, thus allowing gear changes. Automatics annoy me, but if thats what I've got, that's what I've got. PS. If you think I cheated by looking it up, I didn't. Trust me.

People have no idea how serious hypoglycemia is. This guy (and kids) are lucky. It can happen quickly. You get disoriented and then pass out (usually seizures and other things happen too). Can't blame the guy too much as I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but diabetics must check their sugar every time they get behind the wheel.

Good job to the kid. Good job to the officer. And good job that other drivers didn't overreact and just assume he was a drunk.
