Uh I remeber my mom showing me his house when I lived there in Gary about 6 years ago. Him and my dad would have been the same age if he were still alive. Him and my dad went to the same school back in the day, wish I did lol but I wasnt born back then. Anyways, miss you MJ-RIP
I went to this house the day after he died on the way from Chicago to MI for a family reunion, There were a lot of TV crews there, and about 250 people, and this was about 9.30 AM, I will post video I took that day soon
thenudo; I want to tell you that this video is one of the best I ever seen (about independent videos). Congratulations, This is creative and a true video. I admire that you've traveled to visit Jackson `s house.
The Jackson family owns not only the house, but the whole block lol. There is even talks about opening it up for inside touring. The police tape is actually an area of the house they are working on and they don't want fans in that area. Yes - the woman in the car is strange - but she was a childhood friend of Jackson. Her car btw - is plastered with pics of her and him throughout his career. Pretty cool to look at :)
I have seen that house a million times on tv through the years but never realized really how tiny it really is to have housed that big family....I grew up on Michael`s music, I still have all my Jackson 5 and Michael`s vinyl albums...He truly as the song says "Gone Too Soon....R.I.P MJ
Thanks Lesli! No it is vacant. The Jackson's own it. The Jackson's own the whole block. There has been talks in the Jackson family to open it up for touring which would be cool.
Tony - this was really lovely - I've always loved MJ too - since he was knee high to a grasshopper with the Jackson Five...lived in Detroit during the heydays of Motown & all their music is in my blood.
MEE TOO! :) Always have loved MJ...probably second to my all-time fave - Freddie Mercury. I still have my MJ collection from when I was a kid. I was going to incorporate it into the vid but was too lazy to drag it out of storage lol.
Tony, you make the best videos. I guess I never realized how small his house was. I assumed with all of his brothers and sisters that it would have been bigger.
Nice tribute for MJ. He was truely an unmatched talent.
I am tickled that now my children and their friends listen to MJ daily and think he is simply the best. To bad it took him passing for this generation to see him for what he was.
Thanks!! ;) I think so too!! Sadly - sometimes it takes the passing of someone truly talented for the generations to see. My all-time fave Freddie Mercury...same thing. :(
I agree...he never had a childhood really...it was nice that...for a brief moment...he was able to live his childhood at neverland. Too bad money hungary parents had to ruin it with BS allegations!!
Tony, that was Awesome! Thanks for sharing that with us. I learned something new today I didnt know that we were that close to all that history! HUGS xoxoox
uhm excuse me, you forgot the 90's. That was MJ time to me :)

I can't help but wonder who owns that house now and what their feelings about the merchandise stands, etc., surrounding it.
They'd better be okay with it, right?
And dig the police tape in front. Wow.
The woman in the car... not sure what to make of that, although her message sounds like a healthy one.
