@KeivReynolds no they are certainly not from Ireland but their heritgae maybe...They are from Massachusettes and New Hampsire....They were huge back in Boston when i was a teen in 96
while this band sings a lot about irish ideals i dont think you have to be irish to take somethng from their lyrics, its all about uniting and brotherhood, and i was weird about them being american and sounding irish at first but if you listen to it they all have celtic herritage, you can hear the irish in their boston accents
@LGFUAD21 don't know about all that but you should check out the Rubberbandits, Sharon Shannon, Damien Dempsey, Shane MacGowan, Ronnie Drew, The Dubliners...and maybe you'll start to get the REAL Irish vibe. BTW, I LOVE the DKMs
@LGFUAD21 Voted up for your comment, although im not sure if you realise this but The dropkicked Murphys had a song by 'Rob Kelly' (A born Irishmen) removed due to the fact they use the same song 'Dropkicked' and wrote a form of it before Rob Kelly chose to use the beat. Due to this the Dropkicks removed the song from youtube, itunes and made him remove it from any sort of profitible business/media, even though he ofered 100% royalties to the band.the song was actually an old melody many yr old
I'm of Irish heritage, but had never been there until a layover coming back from Iraq... I remember how different and better the Guinness tasted... Good interview, doesn't matter what the view is, as long as you can hear what the band says... DKM, Flogging Molly, and Young Dubliners forever
You guys argue over the most senseless crap. Look, everyone that's born in America is an American and should be proud to be an American and at the same time every single one of us Americans have our heritage and don't forget it. They're American, they have Irish heritage.
is it fair to say they are FROM america, but ARE irish --- and fyi accent has nothing to do with your heritage. Two of the band members have strong irish accents, some dont. All are proud to be irish. All are proud to be from boston.
