I started listening to CCR when I was 7 years old. I had the yellow cassette which was live in California. I have been listening to them ever since. 10 years hard to believe now, but this song I have only really discovered lately, I love it soo much I love their music soo much. It is what really keeps me going lately.
and now we have these jews frothing at the mouth with these new sanctions that put iran in a corner. They got what they wanted. I am A 13 year old girl and my favorite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival. I love John Fogerty he has one of the best voices.!! i know all of the Creedence songs by heart. All of my friends listen to pop/rap. but i listen to Creedence.! the creedence spirit will live forever !!
an hour ago ,dad showed me his vinyl collection and told me about CCR and how he was a great fan of them when he was yunger...vinyl is 31 years old...and its awsome ^^
I never liked this song... Then I heard the lyrics on a version done by another band (on Sons of Anarchy), now this is one of my favorite songs by CCR...
Why do I get the frigging goose-bumps when this song plays? My father never left me. I never left my own son. And yet, every folicle on my head is reeling and tingling like an S_O_B. I don't get it and I'm not wholly convinced that I like it, although I will say it must be some damn fine song-writing by Johnny F.
@jeffreyneltner I agree. I still have my father and my grandfather. I've yet to lose someone who is terribly close to me. But still this song give me goosebumps and makes me think about the inevitable future. I'll embrace it when the day comes I guess. I'm only 19 but it puts things into perspective for the days when I have my own son (something you don't get from a lot of modern music). Great song

This will always be my favorite Creedence song, and has been since the moment I heard it. Im only 23, so CCR was one of the many bands passed down to me from my dad. As a kid he'd show me one band at a time and give me their entire discography. I remember as I listened through CCR's I knew a lot of the songs, everyone as amazing as the last. Then I heard "Someday Never Comes"... I cant explain it but its one of those rare songs that induces a goose-bump trance lasting for 50+ consecutive replays
@PrairieDon1021 I get what you mean. I've been listening to Long As I Can See the Light. I'd say that one song for me has always been The Doors Moonlight Drive.
All music is influenced by all other types of music, you have to listen to some Beethoven to create some Zeppelin. Add some heartfelt sentiment (the blues) and you have music that rings a bell in every soul.

this is my favorite song ever written.those old days on the rez somebody was always awake enough to flip the record over as long as it was ccr and t-bird
Time has passed and not a single bit of truth has gone from this words. May it make it less sad by thinking in all the strong man who felt it before us.
the vietnam war was more than 25 years ago, more like nearly 40..the rest of the troops we're coming home in 1973-1975..The Nixon-Ford years when i was a young teen..
. Bieber lady gaga and all the others will be forgotten over time.
And CCR won't be around forever either. so start recording, dowloading and buying tracks. And never forget these guys. My grandfather grew up as a dear friend to jhon. and the music wont be here much longer.
I never thought of this song as more than a good song to listen too. Then i headed to college and ended up with some problems and through talking with my father i found my solution. There is no quick way out. someday never comes and its always a space ahead of what you want. you try and live a good life and you do the best you can. and in the end it really is up to you because some day never does come.
I am 60 and owned every album these guys put out. Great music and gave me a lot to think about. I wasn't a "Fortunate Son". After surviving the army, music has been my muse, keeps me grounded and tuned-in.

SONGS NEED MEANING AGAIN!
@DementedMutt Amen and Amen to this. CCR is still popular wherever music is discussed. By far the late 50s/60s produced some of the best bands & music that is still appreciated and listened to even by the younger set. A little strongly put, but I do wholeheartedly agree regarding lady gaga & justin beiber; I just hope they don't try to redo some of these "old" songs, and really louse up the rendition. Please just leave them alone, enjoy your short lived fame and fade away. Thanks again
@Syzygy60 Ok, Troll. I'm glad I make you sick. You just keep losing sleep over other peoples opinions. Have fun wallowing in your ignorant existance with the rest of the mindless trolls.
@DementedMutt There are good musicians today. You are just not willing to look past the obvious names to see them. Back then, a lot of the popular musicians sucked. Some popular ones were good. And some obscure ones were good. And some obscure ones sucked. The reason people don't see it is because they are not willing to look beyond the obvious names, like you.
@DementedMutt You are not looking in the right places. Many people believe there is no good music being created today. And i suppose that may be true.. If you are so blind that you only listen to mainstream music.
@sh7th3ad there are 2 kinds of music: good music and crap music........and our tastes . My father used to tell me: stop listening to that crap (beatles, led zeppelin', the doors, etc). there's no good music anymore, what was good music to him, for me was crap, and viceversa.
1st criteria to be an Obama voter is to be an ignorant indoctrinated Green Energy Nut,because ur brain is mush and Commies want to mold that mush brain into Stalin's image!
it,s awesome to be in the same mode as those who write good responces . i think that thy were one of the super groups of their time .all their stuff is great.
still amazes me that i just found out about this band less than a year ago (novemeber 2010). Best. Band. ever. this is probably their best song. if i had to rank their top 5 or somethin it would be
@rjhuffuscg yeah, allright. i listened to this one cause i saw it on a few top ten ccr songs lists. Had never heard it before even when i started listening to CCR. now its my favorite song of theirs! so yeah I'll definitely be checking out more of their songs. any suggestions?
@myfacesp I only discovered them around that time too. All the songs you mention are great but the fact is they never wrote a bad song and if you search around for some of their less known stuff its all still brilliant.
@myfacesp i remember 25 years ago when i first heard them, when our boys where dieing in Vietnam there music was fighting a war back here. Alot of bands music did the same thing.
@dtbecerra1 thank you for pointing that out instead of listening to what i said, now that you have made it very clear that your more intelligent than i am, go fuck your self.
Despite being CCR's ugly duckling, with the exception of this and Doug Clifford's wonderful 'need someone to hold, I gave this album MANY listens trying to like it and eventually, I did.
I started listening to CCR when I was 7 years old. I had the yellow cassette which was live in California. I have been listening to them ever since. 10 years hard to believe now, but this song I have only really discovered lately, I love it soo much I love their music soo much.

The reason people don't see it is because they are not willing to look beyond the obvious names, like you.
myfacesp 3 months ago
@DementedMutt You are not looking in the right places. Many people believe there is no good music being created today. And i suppose that may be true.. If you are so blind that you only listen to mainstream music.
sh7th3ad 3 months ago
@sh7th3ad there are 2 kinds of music: good music and crap music........and our tastes . My father used to tell me: stop listening to that crap (beatles, led zeppelin', the doors, etc). there's no good music anymore, what was good music to him, for me was crap, and viceversa.

@DementedMutt I got a song with a meaning. It's the world's tiniest violin playing the world's saddest song. Play some Against Me!, and shut up.

still amazes me that i just found out about this band less than a year ago (novemeber 2010). Best. Band. ever. this is probably their best song. if i had to rank their top 5 or somethin it would be
1. Someday never comes
2. Have you ever seen the rain?
3. Who'll stop the rain
4. bad moon rising
5. down on the corner
Best band ever!

@myfacesp I only discovered them around that time too. All the songs you mention are great but the fact is they never wrote a bad song and if you search around for some of their less known stuff its all still brilliant.

Despite being CCR's ugly duckling, with the exception of this and Doug Clifford's wonderful 'need someone to hold, I gave this album MANY listens trying to like it and eventually, I did.
