hey guys, i have this mixer and when i turn it on it says "Adjust vr24 for best readability" and nothing works, so i have to turn it on and off till the red lights at the top turn on first for it to work... does anyone know how to fix this? pls inbox or reply to this
@DJLazBoz Hey I just bought the DDM4000 and had the same problem. No idea why does that either, but I kept turning it on and off till I barely was able to see anything on the FX screen, but then also you need to turn the nob that is on the right side of the effect area to move the contrast of the screen up till you are able to see whats on the screen.. good luck
can i also control the fader and the crossfader with the midi control? does the midi control als walk with "virtual dj" and "ultramixer pro"? thx for help :)
I have the same midi to USB adapter my comp is saying it is working fine but I'm not able to map anything nothing happens when I try to assign it. Is there something on the ddm that I need to set up so that it will let me do so? Or am I having a problem with the mixer? Thanks any help appreciated
@SeratoTutor How to fix the light problem because i have one and when i turn it on, it says: Adjust VR24 for best readability, and during that time period, all the lights are on, steady....I need help pls, thx.
@SeratoTutor How to fix the light problem because i have one and when i turn it on, it says: Adjust VR24 for best readability, and during that time period, all the lights are on, steady....I need help pls, thx. I mean, if you already encountered the same issue.
@jeanviarel Hi I recently bought the DDM 4000 slightly used i had the same issue. "VR24" particularly means the system is going for a system self check. I had switched on and off several time but did not pass that point until such time i had let the unit to do a full system re-test.. Just On the DDM4000 and Press only Once the OK knob (Console Set up knob) and let it go on by itself, after a while the system will start to test all its lights, buttons, knobs etc.... let it complete then restart..
@MrDjiceq Thank you very much for the info....I think i will try it even though the self-check is supposed to last 2 days. I was going to send it back to Behringer for repair, thx again. I'll do as you said.
Is it possible to midi map the buttons in FX1 and FX2 section in the center of the mixer to control scratch live. I want to be able to midi map this section of the mixer because of the layout.
If you can send it email it to djslimnasty@yahoo.com. The problem is I'm using the Alesis MIDI to USB and it's not responding so maybe I need to order the M-Audio UNO
Ive got The berhringer .. i sold my pioneer djm600 for it... and as u would expect it doesnt work!!! i have had 3 midi djs round and they cant get it to work!!! Stick to the pioneers lads coz this is a dissapointment...
@SeratoTutor Sorry, correction, the midi start/stop button only turns on/off the MIDI clock output. Actually turning off the MIDI control involves a few extra steps, but nothing major.
@crimbob69 Yes again, you can turn on/off which sections do MIDI on the fly mid play. You just go into the console menu on the mixer (push the knob in the very middle of the mixer) and select/deselect which things you want as MIDI or normal mixer function (audio channels, mic area, sampler, etc.).
@crimbob69 The DDM4000 can be both mixer and MIDI controller at the same time. I use the middle channels 2 and 3 for audio, and everything else is pretty much MIDI controls.
so im gonna be buying this mixer and i have a serato and macbookpro and i have a external harddrive... so afer the midi to usb plugs in to my mac. and serato usb to my mac.... and how can i plug my exeternal harddrive cause macs only has 2usb

I have the same problem as Cahs09..I hook it up and nothing happen. It seems pretty cut & dry, hook up midi out and usb? Nothing? Any suggestion would be welcome?
do i need a soundcard, even if i have 2 dns 3700....and de dmm4000...and i want to use as a midi controller...for ableton o virtual dj.......thank you
The stock crossfader is ok. Not bad, but not great either. Luckily though, you can install an Innofader in the DDM and then you'll have a great crossfader, and I recommend this if you scratch.
Traktor has no simple MIDI learn functionality, you must manually map each function you want to control individually in Traktor's setup/preference menu.
Your the reason why i wanna buy the DDM4000 !!! I wanted to buy the DJM-800 but so costly and i own PIoneer CDJ-400 and wanted to go all pios but no sir you got me on this video with the midi. i dont scratch alot just changing to the next song, but watching this and it has inspired me to purchase a DDM4000 and save my body parts with costing arm and leg lol thanks dude -DJ BRYAN ONE
Yes, when you select an area on the DDM to do MIDI, the LEDs go out for that section, because the DDM can support MIDI feedback from the program so the LEDs can light up when pressed, but Scratch Live doesn't have MIDI output, only input. Traktor though, has MIDI output and the LED can light up when pressed in MIDI mode.
I'm unnable to set up my Serato with the same setup your using. Although I'm using a Dell 32bit not Mac. Could you help? Oh, cannot assign midi buttons.
Can this be set via midi to completely control serato or virtualDJ. What i mean is can you program it so that the only hardware you would need is your laptop with software and this mixer, so you could choose track, cue it and then play it via a button on DDM and then use other buttons on DDM to pitch bend and also increase/decrease pitch, so in essence doing away with mp3 compatible cd decks ?
Also once midi is assigned to do this how easy is it to revert back to normal to use with vinyl decks
I found the Pioneer DJM-800 was terrible for midi controls, based on my experienced djing out and about with serato. I couldn't believe how much better this was when i used it considering its about 1/4 the price. pity about where the headphone jack is located....
can you set the quick keys on your mac keyboard as well? i started using serato and i would like to have the quickkeys set on the keyboard so whenever i play in the club with different equipments it would be nice to have it set up on the computer rather than setting up on every equipments i have to play on.
i have the pioneer djm-700 with serato and i cant seem to assign any midi controls to it.. i also have it connected with a m-audio uno.. i am running it with a toshiba satellite..
With the new video sl 1.1 being released soon, serato are eliminating the need for a ttm57sl. but as the controls on this mixer (ddm4000) are midi assignable, does that mean that you can use the crossfader etc with the new vsl1.1 and be able to "cut" between videos. just a brainwave i was mulling over in my head..... will this fufill all the same functions that the ttm57sl does with the vsl application??
Yes, but if you're going to use the DDM's crossfader as MIDI to crossfade the videos, it won't fade the audio. So you'll have to mix the audio with just the channel faders, and the video with the crossfader, or visa versa. Either way, there's no way you'll be able to scratch both audio and video at the same time and make it sound/look good. If you don't scratch then it's fine I suppose.
That's one of the advantages of the 57 is its crossfader crossfades both the video and audio.
I always wondered how to do this and finally I know how. I can't wait to map out my DJM-800. Your videos are very intuitive. We really appreciate you taking your time to explain and show us new things!
hey my friend, thanks for such a good video, i just bought the ddm400,the midisport uno, and already have serato, following those steps in that video and i just can't set the midi. after install the drivers from the cd, after i get to midi learn from serato, i click to assign controls but nothing happends doesn't change green after i press a button or knob on the mixer,....any help?
Have you assigned which sections on the mixer (mic, sampler, crossfader, channels, etc.) you want to use as MIDI. You need to do that first in the DDM's MIDI console panel/menu.
yes, today i download the 1.8.3 version of SSL and i got the green light after i assign the button, do i need to save something after that to make it work?....after i have it assing doesn't work, its weird works with the 1.8.3 version but not with the 1.8.2
mine it is not function well means i assigned it and then it doesn't work may be i'm missing step the way u show its easy but not with me do u have to set up on the mixer or somewhere please i need more info
Well, I did forget to mention that you need to set which areas of the mixer (channels, sampler, mic, crossfader, etc.) you want as MIDI. You set that in the console menu on the DDM4000.
IT does not work for some reason!!! do you know why? I have the correct cable, mac and it won't work....

I thought that would be fairly obvious. Scratch Live doesn't work unless you have one of the Rane hardware interfaces (SL1, SL3, TTM57).
SeratoTutor 2 years ago
Ive noticed the LEDs dont work anymore.
MakaShino 2 years ago
Yes, when you select an area on the DDM to do MIDI, the LEDs go out for that section, because the DDM can support MIDI feedback from the program so the LEDs can light up when pressed, but Scratch Live doesn't have MIDI output, only input. Traktor though, has MIDI output and the LED can light up when pressed in MIDI mode.

Well, I did forget to mention that you need to set which areas of the mixer (channels, sampler, mic, crossfader, etc.) you want as MIDI. You set that in the console menu on the DDM4000.
