The bands whose names are being thrown around here only helped popularize the genre. They did not invent it.

I was lucky enough to be able to bring my band (Possessed) on tour with Megadeth a few times and hanging with Dave was one of the all-time highlights of those tours. Dave is a fucking GOD SHREDDER!! I am looking forward to playing this year's Graspop (GMM) metal fest Belgium with Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus and Possessed opening up 4 Sabbath!

Dave just liked to drink and he liked to fight, and those pussies in Metallica couldn't stand it that Dave was kicking their asses all the time, so to keep themselves out of the hospital they took him to the bus station on their way to a concert and left him there. Good thing too. Thank you Dave Mustaine for being too metal for Metallica!!!

Phantom Lord, The Four Horsemen, Jump in the Fire, Metal Militia. All those were written by Mustaine. Of course, the rest of the band did a great job with the other songs, but Mustaine wrote the classics!

@kirkmancometh No one band did. If you go to wikipedia and look under the "History" section of "Thrash" you'll find a fairly accurate description of what was happening in the mid- to late-seventies which led to thrash's birth.
The bands whose names are being thrown around here only helped popularize the genre. They did not invent it.

Cool song! Zakk is a really good musician. As far as Dave Mustaine..well everybody in metal knows that Dave is the "real deal" and a die-hard metal mainstay. I was lucky enough to be able to bring my band (Possessed) on tour with Megadeth a few times and hanging with Dave was one of the all-time highlights of those tours. Dave is a fucking GOD SHREDDER!! I am looking forward to playing this year's Graspop (GMM) metal fest Belgium with Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus and Possessed opening up 4 Sabbath!
