If you're running on a high resolution AA becomes less and less important. AA only benefits the game when it's running at a lower res to make up for the lack of available pixels.

When you run a game a high res there are plenty of pixels on screen to make up for what the AA would do.

Go run a game at 1680x1050 or higher and turn on AA; you won't notice any difference between 2x and 8x.

The Singularity effect is just a combination of various alien fx, you can find them in the editor by opening the database view and then go to the tabb that says patricles, then loead alien fx, the effects is then put into a track in the trackview and you make them blew off after each other. The whole video is a sequence :D
