Do you perhaps know Sifu Fogg in richardson Texas? He is my Sigung. Sifu jones from Tyler Texas is my Sifu. I've fallen in love with kung fu. It's my one passion.
@jamesbowden55 Not personally but he has a great reputation in the community. He is one of the most well-known and established grandmasters in the US and the world.
@MartialSkillDotCom Yeah that's no lie. He's the most amazing person you could meet, and not just because he's phenomenal at kung fu. Thank you for responding to my comment.
Beautiful form. Absolutely beautiful. I train in shaolin kung fu and also the 5 animal kung fu and i do drunken as well and i have never seen this form acted so swiftly. (Y) great job.
Damn You're great. Ive been doing Seven Star for 8 years or so, though I've never been able to move so softly and pure like You. Unfortunately I had to quit it for school and stuff. Watching this video makes me think I did the wrong thing.
Like always thank u for another well done video.I commented on your Waist Chopping Palm Chain Style video clip(Theorto88) This is my brother in-law Youtube log in name.I will set mine up when I get back in the States(Monk101) Im on my way to Russia for 5 days of training Im doing a 7 star Mantis Seminar n DC its titled Learn the most deadliest form in the entire 7 star Mantis system.Come out on me I will take care of your door fee KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK I make all of my students watch your video
@MartialSkillDotCom Ahh ok, So if ever I was interested in learning Mantis, i could learn pretty much what you just did in that form from this DVD? Sounds tempting :P
@Dillagent Depends on the style, branch, school, and even teacher. There is no set answer.. I have seen as many as 130 forms and as few as 4 taught. I'd say the average is probably around 15-20 in most 7 Star Schools, not counting any non-mantis forms that may be taught in the curriculum.
I like this style. I like the speed involved with the hand movements. The jab video is very fast. Though, what exactly is it you're wearing(what it's called)? I've seen it in some games. Looks like a suit kinda.
@xSpiz91 Thanks for your comments. Northern Praying Mantis is known for its emphasis on speed of the hands. The uniform worn is a typical/traditional northern kung fu uniform -- typically worn for demonstrations, performances, tournaments, etc. Southern stylists will often wear ones that are sleeveless.
beautiful, graceful, powerful. great performance of praying mantis. quality kung fu at its best! regards to you from a fellow kung fu brother from norway!
Thank you Jochen, I appreciate your feedback as I have a great deal of respect for you and your school. Also, my very sincere condolences on the loss of your teacher. Mike Martello was an amazing martial artist and someone I had the utmost respect for. A true loss for the mantis community.
