I have to say that for the fact Peach PLAINLY TELLS Mario that there is a demon beyond the door. Mario still has to place the star before the door... If he was smart, he would have just gone to search for Peach and kept the star he found. This way they would not fall in to the wrong hands. Even if the bad guys found the other stars, they couldn't do anything without that star.... Nintendo logic I guess.
