  • Hc you didn't show yr element allocation on Guile or Kid. Help?

  • "Bubba Beeba, here i go again BU-BBA, how can i resist you? Bobba Beeba, does it show again? BO-BBA, just how much i've missed you"

  • Beeba Los Vegas.

  • when golem farts deos it count as poisengas attack?

  • The best thing about that wingapede is that if you leave it for later you can doppel it. Full size. 'Nuff said :D

  • omg! its a yellow globox!!! (from rayman)

  • a good soldier never dies...they just fade away...

  • @carfo Old legends never die, they just lose weight.

  • ITS A TRaP!!!

  • I don't understand why so many games have characters say "Disappear" instead of just straight up saying "Die" or "Perish." It really gets annoying in games like Soul Calibur with Taki constantly saying it.

  • The censors dont like "Die" or "PErish"

  • well the FCC/censors are a bunch of pussies, so I guess its to be expected.

  • What, no Solt and Pepor tutorial battle explaining trap elements?

  • I just found out that you can steal the Earthquakes from those centipedes.

  • Golem=DOMO

  • So I tried to get the three earthquakes, but I had my ass handed to me. What was your element setup for this?

  • Yeah, I liked the Save Kid path better long term, cause I could so some serious damage.

  • YAY!!! Level 5 attack magic!!! (and really, Meteor Shower deserves to be counted as a level 5 spell too).

It's too bad you couldn't get the 11th star before fighting Fargo, as I believe he can cast the green element Carnivore and if you had 11 stars you could trap it!

  • I don't believe you can buy Carnivore traps until after the ghost ship sequence. Unless you can win/steal it from someone, but then it's probably a rare one at that.

  • @HCBailly how did you get the book of poems so early bro?

  • Ehhh... I like the Advance version of FFIV. Probably for the same reason that I like FFVIA more, it's the first version I played.

  • i dont care what you noobs say, this game is great. it gets me pumped up! I got this game from csadmin. info

  • Serge is actually doing quite well, slightly less hp (about 36) more attack +3, more RES +7. More MR by 2, less magic by 5. So, those random stats are really good since he'll be able to take out things more easily, albeit less hp from big attacks. That isn't much worry though.

  • Hasta la beeba baby!

  • Man, Serge's HP is REALLY starting to fall behind everyone else's.

  • Man, that look like it hurt XD

  • The fierce hit percentage probably uses the Eagle Eye element as a boolean, but Pilfer does not check if Eagle Eye is active. This would create a situation where the base attack percentage is now an invisible value. It may be a programming error.

When Eagle Eye is active, it may still be possible to do 6 weak attacks to build up the base hit percentage, before using pilfer.

  • Responding to Xeodiac:

Actually, I've observed that, without EagleEye, hitting with a fierce attack right off the bat boosts Hit% more than 3 weak attacks, so I would think that with EagleEye active, doing 2 fierce attacks would give Pilfer a higher success rate than 6 weak attacks.

  • Oops! I meant "Xoediac"! Sorry for the typo!

  • A strong attack boosts hit% exactly as much as 3 weak attacks. A fierce attack boosts hit% exactly as much as 7 weak attacks. I would suspect the same is true of boosting Pilfer's success rate.

  • IT'S A TRAP

  • I'm glad someone enjoyed the reference in the title.

  • Didn't notice my comment 9 hours earlier than this one ;-P

HC, watch out for that old age sneaking up on you, heh.

  • Whenever I use EagleEye on Kid, her Pilfer seems to miss, so I forgo EagleEyeing here at all.

  • Tales of the Abyss, Final Fantasy IX and Valkyrie Profile 2 have some of my favourite save points. They look very stylish.

  • Heh it was great when, right at the moment you said you'd get two more Aerosaucers off screen, you scored two of them from that battle you just stole one from. TIMING!

  • Responding to Begaria:

He said he was getting AeroBLASTER elements offscreen, not AeroSAUCER.

It's an understandable mistake, though, with some of the element names being very similar and all. I often confuse ElectroJolt and ElectroBolt myself!

  • 1:22 Hahahaha... you got lucky there... i don't know why it didn't most likely KICK YOUR ASS OFF

  • Thanks for the videos, HC Bailly. You've convinced me to get this game. I found Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy Orgins at a Black Friday Sale. SCORE

  • What store could possibly still sell playstation 1 games????!?!?!?! I'm very curious.

  • It maybe a local chain, but I have two stores in my area that sell old NES, SNES, Geneis, N64, PS1 games. One is Yellow Dog Discs and Game Giant. Game Giant is where I found Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy: Origins. They said they had VII, but ran out like a week. Defenitly a good place for nostagila gamers. Check to see if it's in your area. I live in NC

  • Weird. My comment was supposed to be on The Ungrateful Dead video not here.

  • Where does she get this stuff!!

I've been waiting for another beeba opportunity, but no one's going to get that one, are they, Blamire's more obscure than most LPers, but HC does love the B movies, who knows, maybe someone out there has met Beeba...

  • I have experience on blowing on flutes.

My dirty mind just had the wrong impression.

  • Ah, so that's when the Centaurpedes cast Earthquake! I kept waiting for several turns, trying to trap Earthquake, and they just weren't using it (because I never let the field effect become all yellow). I eventually decided to start stealing (since it's also a rare steal), and eventually got my three Earthquakes that way.

  • hey do you get paid to do these?

And if yes.. How did you get this job?

  • No one get pay to do LP, through some LPer have donation set up in case someone like them enough to donate. (One case I saw that the donation was there in case someone wanted to buy him a beer =p)

  • Sonic Boom!

  • Not much of a cliffhanger HCBaily

  • no razzly? T_T

  • I'm still expecting a 'we need a bigger boat' reference, but it just hasn't come yet...

  • VIII = 8

  • I figure he's going to do the rest of them in order, after FF8. I can't imagine HCBailly doing FF12 though..lulz.

  • Last time I checked Final Fantasy VIII was Final Fantasy 8.

Seriously, though. Learn how to recognize Roman numerals, you'll confuse less people over which Final Fantasy you're talking about.

  • 1:36 - *cue Monty Python's Flying Cicrus theme*

  • Noooooo

    Razzly! :(

  • Hey, HC have you tried the DS final fantasy iv?

The only thing I liked about the advance version you mentioned was the fact you can switch your group around at the end an I can have my favorite charecters:

    Palom and Porom.

  • I've played the DS version once, but am going to again to try the New Game +.

The thing I liked about the Advance version was how close it stayed to the original. Granted, the bugs were kind of bothersome, so it's certainly my least favorite version of the game. However, it was still a thoroughly enjoyable game.

  • Most of the bugs (Notably the ATB bug) was fixed in the EU version of the GBA game, if you want to try to import it

  • The ones that bothered me were things that I don't think were fixed.

    1) The controls seemed sticky. On the SNES, I could enter commands very quickly, but on the GBA, there seems to be a little delay or slowdown .

    2) Slowdown on the airship, probably due to emulating the Wonderswan version.

    3) The back row bug. From what I heard, in the US version, ranged weapons still deal half damage. In the EU version, I heard they "fixed" it so that ALL weapons work form the back row.

  • Is the DS version fun? I was turned off of the DS ones with the DS III, but I heard that the new version of IV was better. I also heard it was tougher, which boggles my mind, since IV was probably the last really tough game in the series.

  • Personally, I loved the DS version, though I'd want to play it again to rank it as a version of FF4. I'm not saying that it was perfect, but I can't think of anything bad about it.

  • I really want to play FFIV for the DS, but I don't have a DS, and for this particular game, emulation doesn't seem to help. =(

I just really like the idea of being FORCED to use strategy in FFIV. And unlike FFV, it's not like if you neglected to do something earlier in the game (like level up your characters to get certain abilities) you're more or less screwed (although then again, I don't know anything about the new gameplay elements). I would avoid grinding and guides at all costs.

  • 1:35 - You go squish now!

    It's A TRAP!

  • I thought it was fun, but it is defiantily harder. I don't think you really notice the difficulty though until the Tower or Zot and from then on I just felt it was a challenge and I was around level 33 when I got there. Also the puddingway side quest you can do is just annoying.

  • Don't tease the Pentapus, kids! XD

  • Nice FF6 reference.

  • Yeah, apparently seafood soup really ISN"T on the menu on this path.

  • i think it's just 'Kid'

  • This is just nitpicking, but you always refer to Madam Pentapus as a "he"...

  • i had a migrian yesterday from all of the turkey

  • love the hydromarshes

  • Yeah, despite all the poison and death, the artwork is so vibrant and full of life.
