The writtings of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and James Madison (them in their own words, their own writting). American History in Black and White, a book about African American HEROS from the Revolution through the mid-1900s. The Federalist Papers. The Road to Serfdom by F.A. Hayek. No Google searches neccessary for me.

I think your main frustration stems from the fact that you can't really draw a direct corallary between the "left" and Hasan or even establish a modern tolerance for bad behavior regarding ideological preference. @taosimplicity Their is a huge link with progressives and Hasan the Ft Hood islamic terrorist. Progessives protect Hasan with affirmative action and hate laws to protect islam, gave it shelter, Code pink and the groups that protest military funerals belong to progressives.
