This cheat explains a lot. You couldn't reason with the Vorts because they didn't understand human language. When you play this cheat, all the spoken language is on vortigese.

@97rogue Nope. Combine was never on Xen. You got it all wrong. They can only travel from one universe to another. They don't have a dimensional, or a local teleportation technology until Half-Life 2. There's a prototype local teleporter in Nova Prospekt, but they lost it. Nihilanth's demise doesn't stop portals, but cause portal storms all over the planet. Combine accidentally discover earth during the storms. Xen, on the other hand, is in another dimension. It's like a bridge between worlds.

1. I know the combine have no teleportation devices, and that they just used the storms.

2. I know that Xen is a bridge dimension, even though I never mentioned it. If you meant that the vorts are native to Xen, then I didn't know that.

3. I never said that Nihilanth didn't stop the portal storms or that he made them either. He just sent his little mini-nihilanths (forgot name lol).
