  • Are the fonts similar to the fonts in ms word ?

  • does iwork do word powerpoint etc... or is it something way different

  • If you export those iWork files to Office files, does the formatting (style, theme, font) remain when you open them in Office?

  • Just a ripoff of microsoft office

  • 169$ are really cheap price....get on....

  • before i buy pages, i was wondering if i can use auto-spell correction?

  • I cannot say iwork is better than MS office

But it looks so nice and its more easy to make things

  • Just wondering, if you can export in microsoft office format can you edit/convert from microsoft office documents. E.G, if I was working on a document with a friend, he was using office and I was using iWork, could I open his document in iWork/convert the office document into an iWork file? Please somebody answer if you can.

  • @jordansmacintoshhd so? What, are we gonna freak out everytime we see the numbers 9 and 11 together?

  • Did anyone else notice that pages photo letter was dated in 9/11

  • iDeath is coming soon just letting you know guys.!

  • I don't know because if there is one program in Windows that I have really gotten used to and have already mastered it's Microsoft Office, especially the 2007 and 2010 versions. I can't imagine using any other office suite.

  • @pstaisabel can you install MS Office for Mac the same way as on a PC?

  • @aishaxoxobela There is MS Office for Mac 2011, it's the latest version. It's interface is quite different from Office 2007 or 2010 for the PCs but I think the features are more or less the same, the difference is in the look and feel of the program. However, if you really want to use the Office suite for the PCs, you can just run Windows on your Mac (Paralles or VMWare) and install the MS Office for Windows there or a less convenient way would be just to use boot camp.

  • @pstaisabel thanks! I hear the keyboard shorcuts are different. must be annoying switching back and forth with Macs and PCs

  • Not Impressed. Very basic

  • Can you crack it ?

  • got my answer soz xD

  • Is it compatible with Windows? I mean can we show this presentations on a Windows computer?

  • @MrMeTubePT You can export the files in Microsoft Office formats. So yes, you can.

  • Comment removed

  • pretty much like open office with a focus on design. but there are no additional features, right?

  • How are the graphs and diagrams on this?

  • Nice overview, but calm down, it's a productivity suite...

  • how do u customize ur top bar

  • im so happy that i bought a macbook pro ^-^

  • @IFyOuClicKThisuRgAy1 me 2 !! :P

  • Nice video. Thanks.

  • @nicknet18 IN THE COMPUTER WORLD, DUMMY!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • iWork DOMINATES Microsoft Office!!!!

  • @brocksteady84 In which world?

  • what are some more features of keynotes?

  • this is really really nice guys, i'm telling you, nice, i mean nice guys. yea.....really nice.

  • What the hell r u talking about word is years ahead of pages

  • Nice presentation

  • Some genius you are. MS Office and iWork aren't comparable.

Office is simply the best. If you wanted to compare them, then wait till Apple adds applications like, Access; which is the main app used by professionals!! Not to mention, Publisher, OneNote, Visio. If you are falling for eye-candy effects, I can see that, as you appreciate icons, and have no idea how to work the apps; you really have no idea what you are talking.

  • @nicknet18 Remember Microsuck office is not the best! i torrent microsoft office while i bought iwork 09'

  • @boyuchuadaniel In that case, YOU suck.

Given, many reasons. You fail to comprehend that a MS Office suite can do a huge number of things that iCrap can't. Bloating about illegal software consumption on YT? You BOUGHT mediocre office applications, while you got that and other office applications bundled up in torrent? Just like this guy here, in the video, you think he ever used office apps in his life? He couldn't even give a goddamn demo! Could only tell that iWorks has better icons.

  • @boyuchuadaniel

As a physics undergrad, I must say that iWork quickly falls short when compared to Office. From Word Processing (Much nicer interface in inserting mathematical type) to Excel (FAR easier to generate complex graphs), Office definitely outshines iWork, by a long shot.

  • is there a template on iwork to do trial briefs or legal court documents?

  • apple is a buissnes Computer and windows is a family / home Computer ; nothink more

  • Woah where did you get that background? I want it!

  • Wow! This looks way better that Microsoft office!! I can't wait to get it!!

  • 1:20 there is no software exists at the name of microsoft 2008! asshole its 2007 and 2010...

  • @Shariqwaseem the Mac version of Office 2007 is called Office 2008. Just like how the Mac version of Office 2010 is called Office 2011. Maybe do your research before you call someone an asshole, asshole.

  • Ok so does keynote export or has the capability to coke out as a powerpoijt file?

  • should i get iwork or microsoft office

  • just got a macbook pro and the lady told me to get this and i did and im glad i did cuz i had no idea the macbook doesnt come with a thing that lets u write papers!!

  • is this software good for a student who would be writing a lot of reports and things like that?

  • Can you export a Keynote presentation as a powerpoint?

  • When I bought my imac os 10 in January, I had to return it for credit as their tech support could not fix it. However, I did like the imac and am thinking about purchasing it again. I had them load Word 2010 for mac's but I did not care for it as it is very different from the Word for pc's. Your video tutorial is very good. I am glad I found it on YT. When I order my next imac, I don't think I will get Word, I think I'd much rather have Pages! Thanks for this wonderful video.

  • how do u do double space on page?

  • can i download this software in torrent???so if can i,why we buy this stuff!

  • @djziprn We buy software 'cuz we have respect.

If you really don't have the money (student, poor country, ...) then download your torrent.

  • @louisvl10 the heck you saying.. i think the people behind torrent ate more nuts than you......hahaha

  • @louisvl10 we don't get software cuz we don't go around and suck the companies dick unlike all you other queers.

The new generation of internet is here TORRENTS

  • @D4N13L831 Maybe you think Apple is rich enough, OK. (my opinion too)

But smaller software makers can't grow or 'die' because too much people download their software.

    Again, it's all about respect.

Btw torrents are slowly dying, with Hadopi in France as example. But there are a lot of other ways to DL stuff undetected ;)

  • @louisvl10 well i respect ur way of thinking and you do give a really good point of view, but for now I guess I'll download some more torrents :)

  • @djziprn lol...cuz torrents are illegal

  • 2:30 - i sometimes uses this.. haha

  • he said uh 81 times :)

  • @davidclaudiu2 Good to know!

  • Office 2007 offers the same features (and more)... How would this be cool?

And Office 2010 (and Office 2011 for Macs) is even better!!! The in built templates are limited. But if you hook up to the Net, you have millions!!!

    "They have nice icons," really???

  • I decided to buy a mac, and I have no idea about its additional software.

So just wondering, is iWork basically same as Microsoft office? And if so, do we still need to get Microsoft office for mac???

  • 169 dollars is what microsoft should have charged for windows 7, and 2010 office, for vista users. That would have been a smash hit

  • more options than office??? are you kidding? it's certainly easier and cleaner to work with but don't kid yourself office is definitely a more professional suite....track changes, pivot tables etc.. and you say that the fact iwork can save in word format proves it's better than office? If you only need this level of complexity then google docs will do, hell, even microsoft office online is a better option as it is also free!

  • hi thanks alot for the vid , does i work support other language like arabic language thank u

  • so the new MBP has Snow Leopard and iLife pre-installed should I also get iWork pre-installed or buy the software apart?

  • @CherylKKst It's cheaper if you buy it preinstalled.

  • definitely getting this with the new Macbook.

  • @g0rsk13g4n9st4 why buy iwork when google docs is free?:) really don't understand you people, there are 2-3 products free as good as iwork and ms office... but it's your money

  • @fulgatgv because my campus network is unreliable I genuinely need dedicated software for word processing and presentations. I use google docs as well, btw.

  • i think apple should make a home security system.. :D

  • ohh looks so good, now i wish i had a mac . but number can u like still do al the formula and stuff like in excel?

  • thank you mann!! ;D

  • iWork, youWork, we allWork for iWork!

  • i'm thinkin of buyin me a macbook in a few month. as a student is iWork09 or Ofiice11 better? What do you think?!

  • 5* i like it that you do it on an  computer!!!

  • I use microsoft office 2011, I tried iwork too but i think office 2011 is better than iwork by far

  • i guess im going with iwork after all

  • Can you export presentations in power point format

  • Was a very utile presentation, even if you do say 'nice' and 'guys' SO much! :P

  • i love your wallpaper! can you link it where you got it from in the description?

  • personally, i prefer microsoft when it comes to word processing and spreadsheets, but keynote is king when it comes to presentations

  • @theswimmingfishboy1 you,sir, are a complete and utter retard

  • what is better iwork or microsoft office mac 11

  • if i make an elaborate presentation on ilife, will powerpoint distort it and vice versa?? I know that open office distorts powerpoints and vice versa. It was a huge problem when I went to present at my school

  • how do u double space??

  • im thinking of getting a macbook pro...but my current PC have a lot of Words and Powerpoint documents coz im a student...can all my documents transfer into mac, and will mac read it exactly like Word and Powerpoint ? how can i share my Pages document with my friends and lecturers if they're using PC Word ? will their PC Word read Pages document ?

  • LaTeX is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better

  • I have a question. Is iStats Menus worth paying $16 off of the Bjango site or can you get it somewhere else for free?

  • Hi i have two questions

    1. What for a programm is the blue square in your dock ? There are the two letters "Ps"

    2. Did you pay anything for windows office programms ? And if i had iWork, would i need the windows office programms?

  • Very well done. I don't have a Mac but I've been wanting one for some time now. This really helped to show the benefits of iWork over MS Office. I want a Mac sooooo bad now that I see how good they are. Even just the way things move makes me excited. Keep making videos, man!

  • Is there a print-view as in MS word? (Pages)

The one where you can see the lines of an A4 sheet?

  • GREAT VIDEO.

  • I emailed a story to myself at home so I could continue working on it at home. In the email I opened where the story was. I copied and pasted this so I could put it in work document. I had a really hard time pasting the entire story. What did I do wrong?

  • a question do i need to pay 79$ just to write some work for school!! does the mac doesent come with any kind software to write some kind of work!!!

plz answer cuz i dont want to pay 1199$ for a computer that i cant do something that i can like in microsoft word

  • @TechThoughts well you can use Textedit for writing like you can with word pad.You can save textedit writings as PDF without any software when you certainly need a PDF converter like cutepdf or something to do so on windows.Apparently windows doesn't come with Microsoft word or office and it will cost you £109 where iWork will cost u £65.I've Ms office and iWork both for my mac.I own a PC also but i must say mac is a brilliant os.if you don't want buy word for mac then you can use an emulator

  • Hi there I have a new Mac for my business. There are documents that I can't access off of certain websites. I'm guessing they need Microsoft word to open, but I want to buy IWork not Microsoft word. Will the documents open with iWork or do I need word? Thanks

  • you said "guys" 25 times lol

  • @jagger701 did you count for him? you must been bored lol

  • how old are you?... just curious

  • thanks for the video overview. Nice job. My only comment is (and I'm not trying to be mean) is to try not to say the word "guys" so much. It's implied.

  • I would like to create an online tutorial with photos and step by step instructions. I want to be able to email this to people who purchase it. Which program would I use.. Iwork or keynote? I have both and can't really get around it well enough to figure it out. Where in these programs would i find instructions on how to create what I want. I tried the help section and it just takes me in circles.. I guess lets start with my first question which is what program is it..?

    Thanks for your helpl

  • This tutorial was so awesome I've been on the fence between office and iwork but I think I just made my decision, iWork it is, thanks man.

  • Can you import MS office documents to iWork?

  • @bluegreypenguin of course

  • Question? I am getting a Mac for highschool and have never had a Mac. Is iWork like Microsoft Word? Can you type documents and print them? I watch some of the video and got confused. please respond

  • @SoCalAirs0ft yes its like word, just laid out differently. you can print, edit, and copy documents..the entire microsoft office is on there..except for access and maybe a few other programs, but its really easy to get accustomed to, trust me you'll love it!

  • @fishraw Wow thanks! Very helpful. Im soon getting my Mac so thanks!

  • why my export feature is missing?

  • Ive recently got a macbook pro 13" the 2.4 ghz, but ive got a quick question, could I use my 22" monitor with it? or would the video card cont be eable to handle it?

Also, if i buy the software and for some reason I have to reformat my mac for whatever reason, would i be eable to re-install the software i bought?

thanks for the tutorial and for the answers =)

  • Hey, I'm new to iMac's and I was wondering before I bought this;

Could I use the word document to write essays for school and print them normally? Just like Microsoft Word would do?

Or should I just go and get microsoft word to do that.

  • is there anything excel can do that numbers cannot? Also, can we open microsoft docs and xls, ppt using these applications? Thanks

  • @jcfaby Photoshop :) no one uses Paint on Macs or PCs

  • So Im planning to get a mac book pro. But then I was worried to hear that MS office for mac is poorly developed. Then I was thinking that if its possible to install MS office 07 home n student for windows to a mac. Or do I have to dish out an extra $80 for iwork?

  • @jmar0015 You will have to purchase it

  • Can you save or transfer your work into office or Microsoft format for example email your work to your teacher and have it sent in Microsoft format so when they open it they can open it in word or power point or publisher?

  • @fehnfan95 Yes, just export/save it to a different format

  • @AppleGenius0921 so after exporting it, the document is still in the mac version right? so can we convert it to windows version in order to send the document to windows users?
