True, Richard didn't crash into the car behind him. The car behind him came from the back, tried to take the inside of the BMW at the entry of the corner and blindsided him e.g. using him like a barrier.

@nationwidejazzman95 if you look closely, hammond wasn't on the racing line and the car behind him was traveling much faster, meaning hammond had to let him pass by rules, however, he must not have seen the car and turned to his left to get back on the line, closing the door and the other driver
