@SoulPsych Unless they've drastically changed the game since I last played, KF does not have realistic ammo management and no ammo is wasted by reloading.

I find that with the 9mm aiming is easier with a single weapon, but with the .50DE I don't lose much if any accuracy by going akimbo, partially due to the less-obstructed view. Aiming with akimbo in KF is a learned skill, and with practice you can be very good at it.
