Good ear! I wouldn't have picked up "petit chien". Though it's certainly "didn't feel far apart". All in all, a beautiful song about people slipping away and the pangs of anxiety we feel when we try to run away from the knowledge that we're fooling ourselves about where the next big change in our lives will take us.
