my sister was at Finger Lakes Community College for this. The entire are was shook by it and I know the college had been put under lock down for a little. I know my sister was going home for it from Geneva General Hospital and had a chance to sort of see it
this was scary but I am glad it did not turn in to another Columbine type of case
To all the people commenting saying stupid stuff like they overreacted, just shut up!!!!!! I was in eighth grade at the time, and was scared to death that my sister (a highschooler) was shot. The way the handled it made me less worried then, and a he'll of a lot less worried about going to highschool. Still, have respect and don't criticize what happened!
like i said before it is none of your business stop trying to overstep your boundaries and exactly what the other kid said he didnt just go in the bathroom and shoot himself
The Town is haunted. Read about the treaty of the stolen place. The crooked it has always been. Stop de smoke but build the biggest winery. Hyps you are
im going to tell you right now my friends parents are not going to want to talk to you... it is none of your freaking business if he was or was not on any drugs... you need to stop asking such stupid question because we all want to remember the amazing days we had with our friend and their son so step back and stop trying to over step your boundaries... please allow our friend and their son rest in peace ....thank you
again.. I am sorry I meant no disrespect. Only maybe to shed some light on what "could" of happened. if the story was similar to mine. I won't be on again..however if you would like to ask me anything..I am here.
Considering the worst.. i almost want to say that his decision was the right one. it didn't have to end that way... but he was so much stronger than most people gave him credit for. The media was completely outspoken and really need to apologize for the things they asked during that time.
I work for the local school district and about 6 years ago a girl at a local highschool commited suicide in her car. The local media and the school district did everything they could to NOT disclose this information. Kids in the school didn't even know it happened until the rumour started, but it's just crazy how they are treating this situation. We must fight back and stop the tyranny. These parents should be livid!!!
I have kids in those schools. When you say, "We must fight back and stop the tyranny. These parents should be livid!!!", I genuinely don't know what you are talking about. Please tell me what's going on.. Please? Michael
Did you listen to the audio Stormedd1? They locked down the school, wouldn't let parents in, searched every locker and evacuated 1 by 1 each class (to search the kids) What gives then the right? They used this kids suicide to bring down more control over the school and the students. If my kid went to this school, I'd be freaking!!
I think we'll learn more about this as time goes by. Someone had told me that there may have been a 2nd kid in the bathroom with the gunman. If he was involved in the (foiled) plot, the cops would have wanted to search the lockers and vehicles.
Parents are rightly pissed about the cell phone confiscation. I personally believe the police chief over reacted, but I wasn't there and it wasn't my call either, so idk.
It's not even so much about overreaction as much as it is a standardized procedure that police across the country are following using 9/11 and Columbine as the excuse. However, I have never heard of them impounding and searching random cars, an extreme violation of the students' fourth amendment rights -- I don't care what the situation is. Yes, what happened was terrible, but that does not give the police the right to usurp people's constitutional rights and search cars without probable cause.
Yes, and my condolences go out to you and the rest of his friends and family. However, the way the media is covering this, even a day after it happened, is ridiculous! I am sure the family does not want their son blabbed about all over the news. I am talking about the media's coverage of the student's death -- not what is mentioned in this particular video. However, it all ties in with it because the media exploits and sensationalizes EVERYTHING!
It has happened at every school in our area one year or another. It is very sad. Kids need hope and a safe world, but I do not think the others are cheerful now with cellphone removal and car impoundment. Also: Who will pay to get the cars out? They created a safe environment, to not take phone pics...
Talk about hysterical. This is fear mongering. How can a suicide victim be a danger to anyone else? Notice how everything now is blow way out of proportion, searching students, impounding cars, lock downs, huh? Panic, panic, panic.
