  • Gold rings are always great finds. A few weeks ago I found a real big one in a forrest while I´m metall detecting. It´s a 14k yellow gold ring with the initials "HR" in white gold. The ring weights 23.5 grams. Looks like it´s made back in the 50´s or 60´s.

  • DID YOU FIND IT IN MID FOOTBALL FIELD ,, OR NEAR THE CHEERLEADER SIDELINES ?? hmmmm

  • @ARCHERY61 Neither, It was found in a park a few feet off an old sidewalk.

  • Aahh thats something new, thanks for the info. The one from 50 must have been the korean war erra, I find this verry intresting. You have peices of history in your hands

  • You found them at the same park? Hmm musta been a tradition to burry class rings. I never heard of such tradition

  • @doncabron23 Reply The place ended up producing 5 gold rings, 3 were class rings. The area was a sports field from the old school named on the class rings. Women use to bury there rings when there boyfriends went off to war WW2 era

  • That's great i'm planning to buy my metal detector soon...i hope i get as lucky as you! well i hope i do...i live in PUERTO RICO so maybe i might

  • awesome for trying to return the ring. Makes owners happy

  • I found an old class ring water hunting about ten years or more back---had no name or initials visible so I sold it for scrap--I think it was from around early 1940's

  • Thanks for the reply, you sounded like a nice enough person, I had no doubt. Wonder what was going on there years ago to have two rings lost from the same school? Anyway, nice detecting! Good luck in the future.

  • Have you ever tried to look up the original owners? (If they'd be still alive) I found a class ring in Florida and managed to find the owner through HS yearbooks. He was so happy that he gave me a modest reward for finding it.

  • @Docdaugh I always try and return a ring. HH

  • @sscindercoop Me too--it's the ethical thing to do--HH

  • @Docdaugh heh, its like a quest.

  • you guy are really lucky

  • You said the ring is from the town you live in? Would that make you a fellow Upstate New Yorker? I'm in the Fingerlakes Region. HH

  • @outlawracer2229 Sure would. Thanks for watching HH

  • It was kind of standard practice back in the day, kids that were getting sent off to war to bury class rings in (good bye, make out, last kiss) spots.

  • @Connected2U2 I don't think that's the case here because it was found along a sidewalk that's been there sense 1920

  • @ThePenguinProduction The date is on the side of the ring. Its hard to see in the video but its plain as day when its in you hand.

  • That is too cool! 2 1939 class rings. What are the odds of that, I wonder? Thanks for sharing.

  • @Daddydigger1 Thanks HH
