@iandiTODAY Sorry, but Arnold had Nubret beat in pretty much every department. Serge did not have the legs to challenge Arnold or the back. Very pleasing physique, good pecs and arms, but those ere Arnolds strengths too. Take an honest look at the 75 footage, only one winner if you're objective.

@BiodegradeableMan Arnold has poor upper legs, no hamstrings, and poor lower lats. There are only a couple of pics of Arnold doing rear lat spread. This was not Weider and Arnold's favorite pic.

Nubret was 4" shorter than Arnold and he has a natural small frame.

@Naturalhit In 73 & 74 and 75 Arnold had sensational quads, ripped from knee to groin with the best separation in the competition. His calves were show stoppers and his back was incredible. Everyone jumps on the rear lat spread but Arnold’s back was wider than Nubret’s and far more muscular. Louie didn’t have a good lat spread himself and looked smooth next to Arnold. When Arnold carried extra weight like Louie, Sergio et al his legs and hamstrings were huge as in 74.

@BiodegradeableMan I met Nubret quite a lot during the early 90's when Denny Kakos was promoting his Serge Nubret Classic. In 1992 he and I did back together. His back, legs, hamstrings, arms everything was big and rip and I believe he was 50 something at the time. He was still in great shape. Both of us worked with juvenile delinquents so we had a lot in common. The only problem was that he spoke little English.

@BiodegradeableMan What I want to say was meeting Nubret in person was way different than looking at him in pictures and getting a chance to workout was awesome. He does everything in high reps. I met Pearson, Christian, Gaspari, Paris, Davis, and Tinerino because of my friend Denny Kakos and Nubret was far better than them when it comes to phenomenal shape and muscularity.

Now Arnold was much taller than him so naturally he would have a bigger frame. With big frame comes bigger muscle.

@Naturalhit I met both men in the early eighties and make no mistake I liked Nubret's physique. However once my naivety wore off I could see how poor he was in the back and legs compared to Arnold. In the compulsory poses he had no chance against the Oak. Serge did hide his flaws well to the untrained eye, always positioning on leg in fornt of the other and such but stood next to Arnold it was game over.

@BiodegradeableMan That's cool you met both men. I never met Arnold, well only when he was running for governor, but that's not the same thng. I met Steve Davis and Dennis Tinerino and I missed Mike Mentzer when he came down as an honored guest at my gym. I'm not saying that Nubret could beat Arnold, but to me Arnold's abs, hamstrings, and lower lats were his weakness. It's hard to find pics of Arnold doing rear lat spread. Even when he was doing free posing Arnold would avoid that.

@Naturalhit Well if Arnold were any better my God everyone else might as well have stayed at home, as it was in 73, 74 and 75 they should have! Yeah, Arnold never nailed the rear lat spread but it’s a muscle control thing. Serge Nubret did use it in free posing even though his lat spread was really very poor and his back not nearly as detailed or thick as Arnold’s.
