I bet you have the best dentures money can buy because the are so nice. the money I have to spend I will probably wind up with someones set the dentist repossessed!!
Here in Canada dentists are real gangsters. They seem to have this unwritten rule about never pulling teeth so you have to come back over and over. I always had bad teeth and i spent thousands of dollars for about 20 years to end up wit a really ugly mouth. In the end there was nothing else to do than pull them all out.
I finally have dentures and i can now smile without shame for the first time since i was 18. I am now 39. Is it the same thing with dentists in USA?
@photon72 wow thats terrible. I thought that medical and dental was free in canada.. Was that a misconception. Well obviously it was. But I can sympathize because I spent so much money on dental work. in fact I finally got my teeth pulled but are still paying on them.. Can you imagine having to pay for work on teeth you no longer have? Ugh. I'm so glad I finally got rid of them otherwise i would have spent 50,000 and still ended up with dentures.

I got full dentures in 1998 at the NYU Dental School.when I was homeless. I'm still wearing the same dentures. But, I found a product that I will begin selling next week that will grow NEW teeth in my mouth in five to eight months. Those new teeth will look just like the ones I had when I was 10 years old. are upper dentures tough to deal with? Id hate the fact that the roof of my mouth would be covered up. But, i heard lowers dont have strong support to eat beef jerky and nuts

I definitely wouldn't have known that you had dentures. Good for you that you are helping others who already have dentures or are contemplating getting them. My mom (may she rest in peace) had dentures and the dentist who did them didn't do a good job at all. She looked like she had "buck" teeth - it was horrible! With technology, dental implants are becoming a better way (for some) to replace teeth, they are more expensive though.
I'm glad you had a good experience with yours. Who did your teeth? I've had nothing but horror. After 7 months,still wearing temporary teeth,(had two implants on bottom). My only advise to anyone, is make sure the dentist you go to, has experience and TALKS to you and let YOU talk to them . Sometimes they just don't listen. I haven't eaten a meal in 7 months! It's been a nightmare!
just got my partial dentures a couple of weeks ago and its taking a lot of getting used to. when ive got both top and bottom sets in i find it so difficult to talk - sounds like ive got a mouthful of gobstoppers so ive stopped wearing the bottom ones as thats the only way i can talk normally. and eating is a big problem. dunno if ill ever get used to them but its nice to be able to smile like a normal person for the first time

Are your Dentures- snap on or glue on???? I am getting ready to obtain some & I'm on the fence deciding which would be best- I like the Valcast (flexible) Denture- but i noticed that the mini implant concept has its good points as well.... as in no glue.
I would never guess you were wearing dentures. The only time I can tell is when people who have them don't take the time to have them re-aligned.
Even though I am on day 1 .. unless you know me .. you can't tell .. although I still haven't mastered talking ! But I certainly am NOT going to advertise the fact that I have them.
@bob8mike I feel better telling people up front about it also. It is easier to get it over with than to constantly stress yourself out about it. I mean I hid my teeth for ten years lol I can't do it anymore not to mention how awkward it would be to have a mishap in front of someone who had no idea LOL!
For me personally, I just tell everyone that I am getting dentures. In a little over a week I am getting them. I have been putting off doing it for a while. Having seen your videos they have helped me to feel less fearful of dentures. I know I will look better and more importantly feel better.
I was in the hospital from december til april. got my heart in march And didn't get my dentures until may. They knocked me out like i was going in for surgery when they took out my teeth, and it was horrible my face was so bruised. and they had to have a cardiologist on standby in case anything happened to my weak heart. I had cardiomyopathy and heart failure. I also had adult stem cell therapy before transplant. I live in jax too, i was on the news two years ago. :)

I went to the ER because I really thought something was wrong. The swelling and bruising was the worst. But hey, I admire you for going through all that you did! How are things now?
You look awesome with your teeth! I have full dentures, and they make my upper lip look funny, they have changed the way my face look a bit. I had my teeth pulled in january 2010 because my bottom molars were infected to the bone. And i had to have everything taken care of before I could get a heart transplant. The doctors told me it would be better to get full dentures instead of partials, so i wouldn't have anymore problems later.
@Karoger1987 Could it be that the teeth were not set back far enough? Mine looked funny the first couple of weeks because they just protruded too much and it was REALLY noticeable when I smiled because my lip wouldn't stretch properly over the teeth. So when he did my reline he REALLY pushed them bad boys back in there so I haven't had a problem since.
Hun, I have to say that if I met you in the street I would not suspect that you have dentures, at all! I love your videos, as they give me such hope. I am losing all my teeth, due to the menopause, & it's taken me 5 years to get the UK NHS to agree to giving me implanted dentures, as I have a swallowing problem & can't wear normal dentures. So you can just go ahead and skip the whol adhesive thing altogether lol. I can't wait to get my implants. While dentures don't bother me at all, I want to save bone as well as have stable teeth at ALL times lol. You will do just fine! Are they letting your gums heal before putting in implants or doing it all at once?

I'll keep you posted. I've been cheeky with them & asked if it's possible to do hybrid dentures, which are implanted dentures, without the plate, but I doubt they will go for that one.. Lol... I am a smoker, & I am trying to give up, or they won't do them at all, but I will get there. Lol x
I think you are awesome:) Well, made it through my surgery! 17 extractions! Took 4 hours! Thought it was horrible at the time,but have been doing pretty well. Very little swelling,and can't talk worth a shit. I go back today for my 24 hour check-up,and they will take them out for the first time. I'm scared for that. What if they won't go back in!!!! LOL I'm going to try and friend you one facebook, wish me luck:) Not sure how to do all this computer crap,learning as i go.

@bgirl0608 Most medical fees are free in Canada but does not cover dental problems since it is considered more estetic than medical.
