One of my all time fave songs....reminds me of growing up in the 70's. A much simpler time. Kids now don't know what real music is, kind of sucks for them......
Have totally fallen in love with this song in the past two days, and I'm fifteen! His ability to appeal to numerous generations shows Paul McCartney's unique magic :)
Good music back then...think back to what you were doing when this played.. Not worrying about bills, guns, gas prices. 30 was over the hill and you have three months of Summer. Cut off blue jean short not these long short kids where today and hair parted stright down the middle with wings...........When a slice of watermelon and some salt could do to a kid attitude. Life
@iVoLcoMxHD Nah, without the sax- This would not have gone to Number 1- The sax makes the whole record. It's the reason this is my favorite Wings song
I was nine when i first heard this song.I remembering hearing it during a holyday trip.I couldnt understand the lyrics cause back then i only spoke portuguese(im brailian). But i fell in love with this song imediately.Thanksthanksthanks!
This and Silly Love Songs have to be lamest songs of Paul's Wings/solo career. Strictly formula. Of course it was a top 40 hit. The sax bit is good, though.
Natural high music , this song is among the best . Driving on a road trip listening to this and other Paul McCartney songs and music like this life does not get much better than this .
I was nine then and could sing every word to silly love songs, let em and this one..also alot of disco that summer and Kiss destroyer with Detroit rock city and Beth, music has changed, but some of the newer generation tunes are ok.."
@Nigelxman1 i only meant john was so heavy in a way to where paul seems so over happy go lucky. john questioned obladee oblahda.maybe thats where i got it. nixon is the man.
@actfray You're right. The summer of '75 was a magical one. I had just turned 16 and was in the process of falling in love with a young man who'd become the absolute love of my life. But...heart ache's a part of youth--he graduted from HS & went to college &d we lost touch. Got back together 9 years later; broke up. He got married, had a child. I persued a high profile career & 25 years later, he got divorced; I got tired of my career & we got back to gether. Will wonders never cease?
@Alikah1 Yes it is. Unheard of really. I don't exactly know how things will turn out this time, but I'd like to think we keep getting back together for a reason. He's an amazing man & we have a good time together. True, we've grown up while apart & life has offered different experiences for us both--we're both still reeling from some of them, but I think we'll work things out one way or the other. Still, that magical summer of '75 when we created "us" was incredible. Unforgettable.
For my money, easily Paul's best post-Beatles single. Sure, the lyrics aren't very challenging, but musically this is a kaleidoscope of pop, jazz, and r&b bliss. The ending part when it all slows down is superb. Always a joy to hear this one!
This takes me back to a lovely summer long ago. It was AM radios then, and what a pleasure to hear the depth and harmony of this wonderful piece of music once again. Thank You!

@disco4ever Pompous?? you missed the sixties. Get your Disco Ball, platform shoes, polyester shirt, cotton candy hairdo, hubcap jewlery and spin your Donna Summer Disco synthesized crap. Crap music, crap styles, crap era. Did I mention crap? Oh yeah I did. pathetic crap generation.
Any artistic criticism coming from someone calling him/herself "disco4ever" strains credibility right outta the gate. *rolls eyes*
That aside, what specifically has he ever done that you find it necessary to call him "pompous" several times? I've detected a bit of self-importance as he got further on in his career, but I figure he's got so many people around him who wanna kiss up & hitch their wagon to his star, he probably feels the need to create some separation.

@katydidscorner Considering the fame and fortune that The Beatles and each of them had as solo artists, they set all set *the standard* for how to handle fame and fortune. No they weren't perfect people, but they always seemed to want to grow and be better. To me that's their definition. And of course their talent.

@disco4ever
