@MzzLyricBaby Sorry for such a late response but Im just checking in on you and making sure that no one has convinced you not to get the surgery. Dont pay attention to others and do what your heart tells u to do. I hope you got a surgery date.
@skymoon1982 Hey girl. Had problems with my insurance so had to schedule another appt out of town. But I don't have to go to the seminar. And from then to now without the lap band Ive been loosing weight. But I when I get a chance to get out of town to go to my first appt. out of town, I don't know, well see, I will keep u posted :)

Good Morning, I just wanted to let you know I went through with the surgery and I am 2 days post op. I must say I have a lot of pain where the port is. Is that normal? I was running low grade fever around 100, but slowly getting strength back. I just want the pain to go away. I have a lot of gas as well. I think that is normal. Wow, that's a great video, thank you for posting. So how are you doing now? My daughter's care provider (daughter has CHARGE syndrome) had this done a year ago and has lost over 115 pounds. She's almost at her target weight and while she does have some loose skin in areas, she's been able to continue walking and light weight workouts (no power lifting! lol) and is in better shape than she says she's been in 15 years.
Kudos!!! I AM Most DEFINATLY GOING FOR IT. I was KINDA APPREHENSIVE B/C I have two cousins that had the surgery one of them had the surgery September 2009 and has only lost 40 lbs. And the other has not lost much weight either. I am trying to make a game plan for me to be successful. I am committing myself to working out for two months if i can do that and get in a rhythm I will defiantly proceed with the surgery December- January .
@msjdevbright You said the keyword.. it takes commitment. If you dont have the chances of being successful are very slim. This is in no way a quick fix. You have to work for it and diet and exercise everyday. Keeping my fingers crossed for you on your surgery.
@msjdevbright i have had lapband surgery too, it looks all good at first, but after a few years later, u will gain back ur weight that u lost, dont be fooled by these people, they only try and make it look good, believe me, its not healthy for ur body, just try eat healthy and go for walks,

@TasteDisRaynebow With any type of weight loss if your losing 100+ lbs, you will most likely have excess skin regardless. The best thing to do is to workout everyday and tone. I think you should still go for it.. you will be healthier, but make sure your ready for this big change in your life.
I'm still weighing the option between Gastric and Lap Band. So glad to see your vid up here it's a real help to know there are others out there willing to share their journey's like you have.

i had this surgery on monday..... on tuesday i was in heaps of pain that i regreted it but by wednesday it wasnt that bad and now im happy ive had it done, its been 5 days and im very excited to start my journey :)
I am thinking of having this surgery. I have PCOS and I now weight 275 lbs. I used to be 130 lbs. I now have fatty liver disease, depression because of how ugly I look. And infertility, time to do something about it! I think you can try and get pregnant 6 months after the lap band...

i was lucky. because i stacked it on really quickly, i had the procedure done and had no problems with loose skin whatsoever. but there's no definitive answer. everybody's different, u can't try and guess the outcome. my advice? go to the gym regularly and tone up. in extreme cases, further surgery might be necessary. i still say the procedure's worth it - go for it.
I found out I was approved for my lapband on Nov 30th and my surgery date is set for Dec 11th....i'm so excited. I watch your videos all the time for inspiration. Your videos have been such a help. Keep posting them!!!

Great job.... I had my band placed on Oct 5, 09... starting weight 272/pre op weight 262/ 2 weeks post op 246... 24 pounds so far... Mspamperedchef... stay strong... we can do this... I got banded on 05/06/09. So its been about a month and I am 14pounds lighter. But, you have lost so much weight how have you done it. What kept you from reverting back to old habits. I still crave sweets and have eaten them when available. I just feel like such a failure.

I had so many clothes that went to strangers. I love giving them away! It is my nature to be generous.
Do you have a St Vincent de Paul near you? I did get great bargains there. It is not that I needed to shop for bargains. I just was not in sizes long enough to pay even Walmart prices. And, I could give them back within weeks!
I dont think I have one of those near me but one day, probably spring cleaning, im going to clean out my entire closet and donate all my clothes. It was nice to hear from u again linda. Keep in touch!
Its a jouney about determination, motivation and strength. Your mind has to be totally focus to conquer your gols. Congrats on choosing that lapband and there is nothing to be afraid of. Make sure you write all the questions you have for your surgeon on a piece of paper. Good luck!!

@TasteDisRaynebow With any type of weight loss if your losing 100+ lbs, you will most likely have excess skin regardless. The best thing to do is to workout everyday and tone. I think you should still go for it.. you will be healthier, but make sure your ready for this big change in your life.

first of all congrats u are awesome n look beautiful!!!!! a quick q how many years into it can the band be reversed? removed?..... i want to get it down but my doc said that my progress in losing it naturally is good for now.. to check back in 2 month to see if i really need it i am 20 n weight 218 my goal realistically is 180 but my real real goal for the future by march 2011 is 140... its soo hard

First of all let me say YAYYYY CONGRATULATIONS, i was wondering... if i get this lap band surgery, once i lose the weight will my excess skin start hanging losely all over the place? under arms, thighs, stomach>? etc?? i had this surgery on monday..... on tuesday i was in heaps of pain that i regreted it but by wednesday it wasnt that bad and now im happy ive had it done, its been 5 days and im very excited to start my journey :)

I am thinking of having this surgery. I have PCOS and I now weight 275 lbs. I used to be 130 lbs. I now have fatty liver disease, depression because of how ugly I look. And infertility, time to do something about it! I think you can try and get pregnant 6 months after the lap band...

Wow! I'm so impressed! I had my first consult last Friday. I'm a self pay patient so I'm a bit different than most, I can get the process moving much faster than most. I'm starting at 280 and do excited to start my new life! Congrats on everything!

i was lucky. because i stacked it on really quickly, i had the procedure done and had no problems with loose skin whatsoever. but there's no definitive answer. everybody's different, u can't try and guess the outcome. my advice? go to the gym regularly and tone up. in extreme cases, further surgery might be necessary. i still say the procedure's worth it - go for it.

I found out I was approved for my lapband on Nov 30th and my surgery date is set for Dec 11th....i'm so excited. I watch your videos all the time for inspiration. Your videos have been such a help. Keep posting them!!!

Great job.... I had my band placed on Oct 5, 09... starting weight 272/pre op weight 262/ 2 weeks post op 246... 24 pounds so far... Mspamperedchef... stay strong... we can do this... I wouldnt go back for anything in the world... the band was my best choice ever... great video and very encouraging...

i hate the way I look .. and no matter how much I try to lose this weight I cant get it off...I would lose alot of weight and tha get right back up there again. it blows...and i cant affor insurance so I know I cant afford this. :(

You don't need health insurance to get the lapband.
They work it out with you, payment options.

I just want to say that I have just subscribed to your video. Great job in making the video. I am so inspired by your blog. I had my surgery on June 8, 2009 and it has now been 5 weeks for me. I so far have lost 23 pounds in total but it seems like my weight is either slowing down or going up and down.

I got banded on 05/06/09. So its been about a month and I am 14pounds lighter. But, you have lost so much weight how have you done it. What kept you from reverting back to old habits. I still crave sweets and have eaten them when available. I just feel like such a failure.

So, Melanie...dontcha wish all those fashionable clothes were somehow magically transformed into the newest size...
I had so many clothes that went to strangers. I love giving them away! It is my nature to be generous.
Do you have a St Vincent de Paul near you? I did get great bargains there. It is not that I needed to shop for bargains. I just was not in sizes long enough to pay even Walmart prices. And, I could give them back within weeks!
I give most of my clothes to Rosie's'Place. Linda

Its a jouney about determination, motivation and strength. Your mind has to be totally focus to conquer your gols. Congrats on choosing that lapband and there is nothing to be afraid of. Make sure you write all the questions you have for your surgeon on a piece of paper. Good luck!!
