  • many of the old stars appearance looked dated, but she seems so modern somehow. like she could step out of the pictures and into todays world seemlessly. wish i could find a girl now who has that bobbed hair !

  • To be pedantic: "Our Miss Brooks" was a radio and television series starring Eve Arden. Still, it's a grand joke concerning Louise Brooks, and a terrific video in its own right.

  • Splendide hommage (choix des images et belle chanson des années 20) à une grande actrice du cinéma muet.

    Merci à vous dakota521,

    Dick

  • My great grandma's sisters daughter. Wow! knew i liked her for some reason!! Thanks for the share!!

  • beautiful.

  • Very well done !

  • LULU - Femme Fatale Ultimate, all times. Symbol of FREE Woman.

  • wow she sure is a beauty.love the hair style

  • Stunning natural beauty, nothing like the fakes of today. High quality production, you should be proud of this one.

  • This is so awesome - the pics and the music fit together perfectly. I esp. love the one at 56 secs (she was such a natural beauty without makeup) and the one with the fan. Beautiful - great job.

  • lovely montage!

  • She was beautiful! louise brooks is one of my favourites silent ladies

  • She is my favorite in the 1920's. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos. Enjoyed very much...

    Laurie M.

  • What is the movie in which she's wearing all the feathers on her clothes and hair at :32? Thanks.

  • @utterlyviolet That is Lulu as the Canary in the 1929 Philo Vance mystery "The Canary Murder Case." Originally shot as a silent, Paramount decided to release it as a Talkie with the dialogue dubbed in. Louise Brooks, known to be stubborn at times, refused to come back to Hollywood to do the speaking parts. Movie moguls didn't take no for an answer very well back then, and for the most part, "she never worked in that town again."

  • Al Bowlly and Louise Brooks. Perfect combination.

  • She was absolutely gorgeous...

  • My Grandmother liked Louis Brooks.

  • Photographies greatest brunette.

  • well done!

  • whoever decided on that hairstyle for her deserves a medal. Not the greatest haircut and she was very pretty, but put the two together and WOW, the sum is greater than the parts. But I think she was copying Mary Ann from the Our Gang series. (just kidding. but which one had the cut 1st?)

  • Louise Brooks. So beautiful, so enigmatic. Thank you for posting these pics of the girl who has replaced Marilyn in my heart.

  • yes yes yes and yes!!!!!!

    ahhhh so beautiful!

  • Simply marvy ! :)

  • The video from Breton2Robert called: Colorful And Irresistible Clara Bow. Its very good and colorful

  • good music choice for some fine stills, though the movies are the real thing.

  • Louise Brooks had so much style...

  • Lulu Brooks and style go hand in hand...

  • Criminal men and women want Stretford too remain criminal and the police only deal with things when it is to late if at all.Police officers can go home after a shift feeling smug they have nailed some criminals. TV overdoes reality cop shows which is not a true account. It is weird but I feel some empathy with thugs when tv does ambulance, fire fighting and cop reality shows all the time when it is only reality too them and false too others.

  • I remember someone like her visiting near the tsb in Irlam in the 90's with her kids. Once again when I visited Gorse Hill and returning too Irlam playing some fantasist role. Does You're kind really think you controlled everything?

  • This song is one of Al Bowlly's best. Or rather one of my favorite songs.

  • I am going too fcuking bed now should she have excisted?

  • Bloomin heck?

  • "Our Miss Brooks"

    LOL!

    I got the irony.

Eve Arden, aka Constance Brooks, was the greatest, but she would never be mistaken for Louise Brooks!

  • Thx to youtube these ppl will live forever.Ty for posting.

  • Both Tunes are similar, perhaps a copyright issue to alter the melody sightly. Both from the same period too.

    Brooksie - Hotcha!!

  • Can you please tell me the label and number of the recording?

  • Released on HMV-6154 in England and Victor-24149 in the states. recorded on3/3/32

  • Thanks for the tip! As luck would have it, I found a Victor Canadian pressing on ebay a couple weeks ago. Just listened to it on my RE-45 Electrola!

  • I'm almost speechless -- WOW! That tune and that girl!

  • Can you tell me who wrote this song? I can't find the info anywhere...

  • It sounds like "Dancing on the Moon" a 1935 Fleischer cartoon. I guess the song wasn't original. Is such a warm tune.

Anyways I have not seen a Louise Brooks film yet. What would be a good recommendation

    Thanks

  • Pandora's Box, I love that film. I have it on dvd and Diary of a Lost Girl. love them both.

    kichnwitch

  • Love that hair style..

    She was absolutely Gorgeous..!

  • Imagine if--both at their height--Louise & James Dean had been able to make a film together!

  • Loved the video of the beloved Louise! I have my hair like hers! I just wish I had been born in the right time. I love the song! :)

  • Beatiful pics and music fits perfectly! Very well done video!

  • Thank you!!!! She is the perfect image of that time. Love her!

  • Very nice Tribute to Brooksie!

Good choice for the pic's and music.

    Cheer,

    Thank for sharing,

    See you soon,

  • Thank you for commenting. I love that time period....and she is just stunning!

  • Louise was a rebel and ahead of her time an original. everyone copied her trade mark hair style. read Louise Brooks a biography, it's good reading as are two otheres I've read.

Lulu In Hollywood and Louise Brooks Portrait Of An Anti-Star.

  • I love her - there was no one like her back in those days I agree...a true classic...along with the likes of Harlow and Monroe...an true icon who represented an era.

  • I fully second these coments; thanks a lot for the superb tribute.

  • So happy you have enjoyed the video...thank you!

  • you know I've had the terrible luck of not being born in the right year, i'd be right at home being say at that party in the shinning but with hope I can afford to have a home like the old upper classes socity of then when I am older

  • if you dream it you can be it...remember that. ;)

  • My God you are quoting Walt disney but I agree hope you are well.

  • Thank you! ;)

  • Great music great clips includes everything that I love about music!!!!
