Any financial decisions since he became the minister was taken by various people and not just himThe financial situation was so fast changing his opinion in this interview was best he could do.Also he was terminally ill here.If he didn't care he would have spent his final months with his family more.He really did care and was trying his best to fix a mess banks caused.He didn't cause the crisis

@adammac999 — you need to read more. Ultimately, the book stopped with him because he was 100% responsible for guaranteeing the banks.
