This is probably the stupidest app idea ever. First of all, there are already notebook apps for these notes. Secondly, it wont work without gyroscope technology. Third, it looks absurd to do. Fourth, you still have to go through the trouble of unlocking the phone and opening the app just to use the app - might as well use the notebook app. Fifth, the examples they gave are examples of why notebooks are needed, not why this phone-pen app is needed.

Keep in mind that this is a prototype. As with any prototype, it can be extended to other applications and is not a final product. Imagine a small pen with accelerometers that can write in the air... well that's kind of nifty in my opinion. The phone was simply used because it already had the accelerometers and the APIs in place. Also, the large exaggerated motions were probably mostly for demonstration, but I'm sure the pattern recognition will become more precise. Good work guys!

That is a good idea, but you must realize 1) that it would be a danger to people around you "Let me see Aaaa... Oops. sorry I was wrighting with my phone" you could very well wack the person next to you. and 2) you have to make those huge motions, it's pretty useless. It's simpler to just type on a Blackberry.

I think you should work on something more useful, like more affordable solar panels. If more people can afford them, more people will use them. Thus, less pollution.

The idea might find applications in some special situations. But the carpark example is definitely not a good one. In that case I would simply take a picture, however bad the quality would be, it just does not matter.

great idea guys, its the beginning of a new way of thinking. i like the way people who don't have fingers, or don't have detailed movement may one day be able to use their phone with ease.

or a way of typing which involves moving the hand in many different ways, rather than just punching keys.
