  • sooooo detailed!!!

  • Nice animation. Did you manually keyframe the animation or did you rig first then animate?

  • Wait, the chest peice, the one that rotates and flips over? Just a small suggestion, but it might be cooler if it sliped to the side and fliped over. just a small suggestion

  • aaaaan what is it ;:/

  • i like how everything makes no sense

  • -hey what software u use? hey what software u use? hey what software u use? hey what software u use? hey what software u use? hey what software u use? hey what software u use? hey what software u use?

-Lightwave Lightwave Lightwave Lightwave! LIGHTWAVE!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!! I USED F*%#ING LIGHTWAVE!!!!

    -......hey what software u use?

    -FFFUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

  • @jag9998 but what software does he use :P

  • what soft ware do you use?

  • @snazzygabe Lightwave

  • this looks like a train only on front. however, good job:P

  • .....applesauce?

  • sauce?

  • @dandeentremont lekker

  • Wow, are you working with a CG company? Where did you go to learn animation. Just incredible!!

  • try college or university lol

    i do it at college

    we use 3ds max

  • did you use blender?

  • please please please, make a tutorial, please please please!!!

  • dude, theres already a tut for transforming. just watch that. then get good enough to change the modeling etc.

  • @Lukutyzz it's modeling and animation dude. TUT 1) learn to model 2) learn to animate 3) spend heaps of time on it

  • that is amazing, can see were yr going with it, plz look at my transforming stapler, theres no way that mine is better than yours, i have only benn doing 3d animation for 2 weeks :P

  • DAMN you have freakin awesome talent!!

  • programe? pm me

  • maya

  • lightwave

  • WAY TO RUIN THE MAGIC!!

    MEANIEPANTS.

  • Who gives a crap about all that. Do you think that the movie was any more "realistic" in transformation. If thats the case then wheres Bumblebee'driveshaft and exhaust system when he transforms? This animation is Godly! Look at his Train on tracks former. HOS optimus prime I believe. Anyhow...awsome job!

  • If the floating parts go together to be one thing then come apart and rebuild themselves to be another, than it's transformation.

  • urs r just as good as the movies!! hav u ever applied for a job with Michel Bay yet? ur good enough!!!!

  • what kind of program is that?

or is it just a drawing made frame by frame and put together with movie maker?

  • Of course it's not that...

  • man can u do a tutorial or something plz!??!:D

  • cool, nice work

  • Wow, great anim job! I have a feeling that lock-in parts of animation somehow have to be ephasized a bit more, but it's still many times better than the movie.

  • It's AstroTrain!!!

  • good job!!!

i m an architecture student in Mexico... and we need to use some 3d programs, you know... to make our virtual models and renders... and i really appreciate you job!

which program... or programs do you use??

for my little things hehe i use programs like sketchup... archicad... and my friends use v ray, artlantis and 3d max studio... could you tell me what program do you use, or , could you recomend me something... or some tutorial???

    thankyou!

  • Did you used a "pathway" tool to move the objects or you used a special software for this? Were some of the objects were following a set up path?

  • I'd like to see a guy who tries to do a transformation animation using traditional 2D... A nearly impossible work

  • some people do transformations in after effects on youtube.

  • After Effects? You could do that? cool.... I'm crap in After Effects :-P My last project with it was a bomb!

  • will you do the head test? I wanna see that!

  • Actually, the head doesn't have any moving parts on it :P I didn't bother since it was so far away in the final shot. You can see a closeup of the head near the start of my September 08 reel (in my videos)

  • Yeah, Pity No one Else Does..

    lol, jk

  • you should have the other side of the front circle(that flips around in the begining) have an autobot or decepticon symbol

  • Actually, at the moment, it has a hole that leads to the glowing orange core (this video is quite outdated.)

  • oh wow!

  • I'm studing 3d, 9 months ago. And I want to became to make anything like this!!!

  • ohh!! it looks really good!! All that pieces are animated!!! May you do a tutorial explaining a little of your work??? It's very interesting!!! And the results are wonderfull!!

  • praise to the graph editor

  • May the graph editor be with you, my son.

  • I'm a noob to 3d, currenly using noob to pro on blender, on wikibooks. What does the graph editor do?

Also, how long did it take to prepare the chest? (Including objects, materials, animation, and rendering?)

  • please complete this as soon as possible.really good job!

  • thats awsome! how do u do it? do u actually animate every single object with keyframes? or is there an easier way like using expressions or something?

  • I like my models to be in one layer and I use bones to animate them. A huge lifesaver for animation is making bones animate symmetrically using the follower tool, so I only have to animate the ones on the right side and the left follow them (symmetrically of course).

  • Anyways, if you have any idea what I'm babbling about (I know i wouldn't) the formula for symmetry in follower is:

    X -1,

    Y 1,

    Z 1,

    H -1,

    P 1,

    B -1,

I understand this is a horrible description. Please say so if you want me to elaborate.

  • thats hot :D
