@TheChrisMcwhirter He uses the Cockney dialect - a dialect used by the poor people living in London in the past. I think some people may still use it nowadays. A lot of characters in Oliver! speak in Cockney - Dodger, the rest of Fagin´s gang, Nancy, Bet, Bill Sikes. I´m not quite sure about Fagin himself. Have you seen My Fair Lady? Liza Doolittle speaks in Cockney, too. Professor Higgins tries to teach her proper English.
