  • Actually, Vin wrote this song. He wrote most of the songs on Daisy.

  • best song i've ever heard on youtube, too bad their new cd sucked balls and sounded nothing like this, jesse if you ever read this...daisy sucks a cunt plz go back to deja entendu style or just acoustic, <3 thx long time fan

  • so good, why couldn't they put this on the album?? :(

  • @Skillz00

it is on the album? or do you mean you want THIS live version?

  • one time, jesse lacey was playing a few blocks from a bus full of kids in Utah. This was during the winter on 2008 and the roads were terrible, and the kids started sliding and they flipped and were mid-air, spinning, but the sound of jesse's voice slowed everything down, and they were slowly placed upright on the ground.

  • Jesse is a lyrical genius and the emotion in his voice blows me away each and every time.

  • i was gonna go to this. but i couldn't find a ride. then at the next brand new concert i talked to this guy who went to this concert. and he said he met jesse and talked to him for an hour. fml.

  • this is lightyears better than the album version... too bad.

  • agreed, not even the same lyrics...

  • agreed

  • I agree :( this is a lot better .. was a bit dispointed with the album man. Sad times, I'm a huge fan

  • it's called bought a bride

  • I know this guy called Tucker, and he told me, he said he once punched Jesse Lacey in the face, and when he looked at his hand, all that was left as a stump, and Jesse Lacey had eaten his hand off in that split second. Then he told me Jesse Lacey punched him so hard he woke up from the dream with like wet pants but not from peeing himself, I think you know the rest, it shows how Jesse Lacey turned my friend Tucker gay, thanks a lot. If his music didn't kick so much ass, I might actually be angry

  • is that just a really bad chuck norris joke with 'jesse lacey' inserted over 'chuck norris'?

  • pretty much, i think jesse lacey is cooler than chuck norris though

  • that was the single most truthful comment I've ever read, ever.

  • Amazing.

and one head can never die

    ...will be amazing!

  • at 1:59

all i can say is amazing. the way he sing his emotions is just amazing

  • I heard from an inside source that right now they're calling it "My Bride of Blood Cells"

  • and who the hell would that be.

  • close friend to the band, helped with their tech for the first cd

  • sweet, would u possibly know an estimate of when the next albums going to come out?

  • as it stands now, September 22 but that is mos likely going to change.

  • yussss i cant wait. this is going to be one of the few albums i will buy

  • ive heard "montauk bride", "bride", "trees" and "blood cells"

can anyone confirm the title? thanks

  • Haha i heard it was brick house or something :P

  • trees (brickhouse)

  • at a loss for words

  • anyone tab this out? i think hes in standard but i got most of it in halfstepdown, just not the chorus

  • so so so so so amazing.

  • the song is called 'through the forrest'

  • Source?

  • Ahhh so excited for the new cd!!!

  • nipples.

  • apparantly this sond is called "montauk bride"

  • The setlist for the shows had this one listed as "Bride".

  • i really want to know what this songs actually called?

  • wow.

  • awesome, reminds me of kurt kobains old stuff. Cant wait for em to come bk to england

  • This sounds good, but I was really hoping the new album would have some hint of 'Deja Entendu' or 'Your Favourite Weapon' even though I know it won't - the last album was artsy and such, but sort of boring live. I just got tix to see them on my birthday and of the 3 times I've previously seen them, once they ONLY played stuff off TDAGARIM, and even though they're one of my top 3 bands I hated it. =( Hope there's some more upbeat songs to go with this!

  • i didn't like those albums. sounded too much like taking back sunday. devil and god brought a new, unique sound to them.

  • I agree with this. Well, I like the first two albums but Devil & God showed them going in a new direction and it definitely was a lot different from TBS.

  • i kind of liked TBS, but when i heard devil and god, i was like "oh my devil and god!" lol

i realize how horribly cheesy that joke was. please don't comment on it. lol

  • A great scream, AND a great voice.

  • your favorite wepon was best, but i like deja and tdagarim i prefer your favorite wepon cuz iv listened to it longest it's the first album

  • this songs like an unused nirvana demo. it's really something to look forward to

  • There's this weird Tom Petty feel at 2:39. Hm?

  • YES! I totally got that vibe too.

  • "Deja Entendu" quickly became one of my all time favorite albums, and I listen to ALOT of music. It pretty much inspired a turning point in my life. But, I think TDAGARIM was added to that list even faster. it's amazing, it's the best out of Deja taken further, I fell in love with it the moment I heard it... I just don't get it..

  • This band has accomplished what few have, they have become tremendously better over time and gained fans who were foes before. I just don't see how anyone could like "Your Favorite Weapon" more than "The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me"? Don't get me wrong, I love them for what they were then and always will, but we all must admit it was lacking a bit of real depth, everyone knows that.

  • You're right, YFW was very angsty but lacked much else.

  • YFW is there roots and the pure essence of Brand New.

  • sorry love but i think they can decide that better than you can.

  • @Emilysmurf11 i used to think that. i still love Devil and God the most.. but i have a friend whose life is literally Your Favorite Weapon. it's all about what you connect to personally.

  • i really like the bit where he shouts, powerful stuff.

  • What...you think the video is photoshop?

  • lol

  • I think you're photoshop.

  • hahaha wow you are stupid

  • I dont know much about playing guitar, And i know this song is almost brand new so he is not experienced at playing it. But at 2:56 there is a really bad transition between guitar tabs, he even seems to 'scrunch up' his face at 2:57 as if he knows he screwed up a little. Just thought it was funny :)

  • yea i saw this too, i'm pretty sure he did.

  • hahah thats awesome... i have much respect for Jesse, he is an incredible talent and this is one of my favorite bands ever... wish i was there to see him mess up, makes it all the better

  • Some of you guys need to broaden your musical horizons. Don't get me wrong I love Brand New, but that doesn't mean I can't like me some Papa Roach or Killswitch if I want.

  • Yes. Yes it does.

  • Anyone know when their new album is coming out?

  • theyre shooting for a summer release supposedly

  • Man i miss brand new's old stuff like kind of like some of the people below. I could pretty much enjoy any song on their first 2 albums. I only like Jesus Christ, archers, and fork and knife from their new stuff. Archers is almost a stretch though. I hope they don't completely dark and slow i miss their fast paced songs and there amazing beats from the songs Tommy gun and sic transit glory.

  • this coming from a person with your screenname...priceless.

  • haha yeah, I guess most of us can agree with you in that the roots of brand new lie within punk rock, but I guess no matter what direction they go in, if you're a true fan, you'll support them. I feel the same about devil and god, there's a few that I really enjoy, but the rest is just hard to get used to. brand new will never fail to amaze me, no matter how "dark" or "slow" they get.

  • You can change your own opinion even if you are a "true fan".... should the people who supported Hitler when he got into office keep supporting him after he developed a final solution?

  • you're comparing musical phenomenon brand new to the dictator who performed wretchedly heinous acts towards a group of people... why are we talking about hitler again?

  • if you've been a fan of any band since even before they had more than two songs written and after years supporting them they come out with an album that sounds completely different, would a "true fan" really say, these guys suck. I hate them? of course not cos you'll still love the band and their music itself. ultimately, if you're smart and genuine to the guys of brand new, you won't ever stop listening to them.

  • it wouldn't even matter if you love the band... if the music is amazing, you'll support them no matter what... and that's plan fact with brand, their music always gets better, more real, and more amazing with every album... i mean look at all the psychos that still love Michael Jackson... it has nothing to do with him as a person, it's all about the music... and that's all that there is.

  • well that makes no sense. a band is just a band. it's all about the music. you can't just like a band even though their music is totally different and not what you're into. I've seen many a band be incredible, then come out with a shoddy record. a REAL fan likes music, not people.

  • ...not really. the point is that, when you really dig a band for the first time, and you start getting into them (like most if not all of us with brand new), that's when you realise that you love the band. the guys, the music, the MINDS BEHIND the music. which is what we mean by supporting the guys of brand new no matter what "shoddy" shit they spit out. just cos one album turns you off, doesn't mean you'll stop listening to them. a true fan loves the music, yes. who makes the music? the band.

  • Of course i will still listen to them. I just do not enjoy these newer songs as much as the older ones that's all. I'm hoping they get better i never said i was going to stop listening lol..

  • haha I know what you meant. it's hard to make a good decision about music, but if you're really into it, 'different' sounds shouldn't really make a difference. you know?

  • SHIT SON! GODWINS LAW RIGHT HERE!

  • I was just gunna say that!

  • It's true, you can change your opinion. But unlike hitler, brand new isn't killing people. They're just making music.

  • that's funny. those are sum of my favorite songs.

  • With the new Brand New and their friends in Manchester Orchestra, it should be a good year.

Check out this new song from Manchester if you're not familiar:

    v=0NgUaDh_l50

  • i wish i lived in the damn US

he's never toured solo, to the best of my knowledge, in the UK

i've only gotten to see brand new once...

but it was fucking awesome ;]

  • Dude. This is so promising for their new album. 09 is gonna be a great year for music. new Papa Roach, Killswitch, and Brand New

  • How do you put Papa Roach and Killswitch in the same sentence as Brand New? Extremely insulting to Brand New.

  • I agree, none of them have nearly as much talent as brand new.

  • Papa Roach...are you serious? i like some of killswitch, but i don't love them like Brand New. I'm not sure anyone LOVES them.

  • papa roach? killswitch? did you mean to comment on a BRAND NEW video?!

  • I kind of miss the beginning sounds of brand new. I know jesse's grown and matured and it definitely shows through his new stuff, but I'll always remember the good young days of jude law and shower scene.

  • same here, got to love their old stuff. but at the same time, got to love their new stuff.

  • yeah, I definitely support their new influences and new direction but it makes me feel old when I listen to favorite weapon or deja. like every time I hear soco amaretto, I realise that jesse is far from being 18 and we're all catching up.

  • Jesse Lacey is better than Oberst. Don't get me wrong they are both amazing lyricists...but Jesse is still getting started even with all the albums he has out. He's maturing great, and I think the best from Jesse is yet to come...

  • Definitely.. He's just gonna keep getting better & better.

This song kind of reminds me of Sowing Season, just the music

  • yes this song is very similar to Sowing Season

  • ahh Great yelling =)

  • i've seen him live and he is amazing

i love how silent the audience is through the whole song

he has that effect on people

    i will marry him

  • wow-strong vocals for a live show...

  • I love Jesse Lacey

  • I like it, it reminds me of the Untitled Demo Album

  • I'm a fan of Brand New, but this song really isn't all that great.

  • i am not just saying this because i am some "super fan" of Brand New, but Jesse Lacey is the best lyricists of our generation and one of the best ever. every song has a meaning and then another, under-lying meaning.

  • exactly! its why brand new are awesome

  • I love love love jesse lacy and brand new even more, but you couldn't be any further from the truth. He's a great damn lyricist, but not one of the best.

  • plenty of artists have a way w/ words and many are able to write about tough subjects. however, jesse lacey is able to write about tough subjects and give it cross over value. example: "Me Vs. Maradona Vs. Elvis". this is a song about record labels taking advantage of artists, the extended metaphore of taking advantage of a girl is implimented. you have your opinion and i have mine. mine is that jesse lacey is one of the greatest lyricists of our generation not necessarily of all time though.

  • You're right..he is not "one of the best", he is THE BEST!

  • he and conor oberst, of course.

  • i agree Jesse and conor are without a doubt my 2 favorite songwriters. i like ben gibbard but he doesn't put as much emotion into his stuff as those two.

  • oh yes, but ben gibbard is also a great musician.

  • No doubt :)

  • I can argue that there are a bunch of artists that are far superior to conor. don't get me wrong, conor is on my top ten, but you can't really compare him to kevin devine or max bemis.

  • Umm, lyrical superiority to Conor Oberst is a VERY questionable possibility (may just be impossible, IMO). However, you're on the right track with the above list, I would only add Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse into that mix.

  • oh word. yeah I do understand how most are blown away by conor's unconventional approaches to the "acoustic genre" but I guess after listening to all five hundred tracks of his you start to question whether he recycled lyrics or you've heard the same melody used in three other of his songs. but lyrically, yeah he's great- I guess I was talking more about structure and complexity. but really, who cares about that shit these days!

  • oh I agree, there are more than I can count.

but his music is primarily based upon his lyrics, and no one can really write like him.

  • awesome, thanks for posting this.

  • jesse lacey; most underrated musician/artist/poet/creative wordsmith of our time.

  • definitely

  • i fall in love over and over with every line he sings.

  • agreed

  • this is awesome! thanks for posting.

can't wait for the new album

  • does anybody have the audio ripped from this???

  • the scream is bone-chilling

  • i love this song.

  • awesome song.

  • Usually I hate watching live clips of Bands taken by fans in the audience because its horrible. BUT FINALLY!! I have found someone with a steady hand and a decent camera! Thank you arcaefireohyeah. Cant wait for Band New's work to come.

  • thats also partially cuz noone in the crowd knows the song or else theyd be going wild

  • i love how he can scream the song and it still be in key, hes so talented its rediculous

  • nice

  • hahahaa me too lol

  • This guy could record himself farting into a can in a closet and I would buy it.

  • LMAO

  • hahaha thats hilarious

  • Jesse Lacey definitely hasn't lost his touch. Looking forward to the new album, if it's half as good as Devil and God, I know it will be amazing. ^_^

  • me to and yes they are in the works of recording there new album which is gonna be fucking sick its nice to know there are fans who love the band just as much as i do iv seen the 3 times and each time is fucking amazing when it comes out i don't know but im buying it

  • i love reading through all these comments.

    seriously.

fans of this band care so much, and i think that's a good thing.

they're also (for the most part) intelligent! how radical.

  • does anyone know when they will finish the new album, are they even recording?

  • they've already started recording(a while ago actually)... right now the new album is the first thing on their list... on Oct 25th they were recording vocals for it so sometime soon

  • love this song. Similar to Coca Cola in style I think

  • this sounds so much like sowing season

  • Does anyone know whenthis album will be coming out?

  • I'm so excited for this to come out! and im jealous of the person who recorded this.

  • woo, sweet song. He makes art, not music.

  • New cd can't come soon enough.

  • Sowing Season 2.0, honestly.

  • He does perfect timing on the guitar.

  • This sounds so lame and cheesy, but I never realized how much a little band could mean to me. :(

  • This is just jesse doing a solo acoustic thing. That doesn't have much potential for being wild and crazy. But besides your wild and crazy comment i thought the song was great and I cant wait for the new album.

  • i love how brand new has matured as i was growing up.

its like theyre singing the stages of my life.

  • i totally agree! it's the same with me, too.

  • absolutley the best band in history

  • I remember when I first heard Brand New in 2002. I IMMEDIATELY bought the first two albums and proceeded to label them as my Favorite Band Ever Assembled...a Justice League of greats, if you will. Seeing them in concert was one of the best things I have ever done. I know that their new album will be superb; Brand New does not strike me as the type to produce an album lest it be of the utmost quality and of the deepest meaning.

    Honestly, they rock the hardest.

  • what are you talking about?! the current brand new IS the wild and crazy brand new. go see them live, you'll see!

  • Thanks for the solid input you fuckin knob job.

  • ha you miss the old "wild and crazy" brand new also? do you prefer buttsex as well?

  • Givin it to your mom I sure do. Wouldn't want an unfortunate accident to happen and produce another piece of shit like you.

  • wow, you're so wild and crazy man!

  • is wild and crazy your favorite phrase.

    you fail hard.

  • there new stuff is good too

  • yeh!

  • This back-and-forth made me smile. :D

  • all of brand news albums are awesome.

  • i first saw brand new playing with dashboard confessional and mxpx many many years ago.

i fell in love with them ever since.

uutf happened to the other 2 bands?

i was wondering how they could top that last album, i was seriously scared for this album cause i wont settle for anything less- and this song makes my soul happy.

    -weappreciatebrandnew-

  • Not only does he have a great voice, and can sing...but he has a great yell too. POWERFUL song

  • i love brand new almost too much.
