Superb footage again Warren, In answer to your query a loading wharf was constructed near the reverse curve as seen in your video to allow reclaimed duff coal from nearby mountain tips to be taken away by rail over a 5-year period until about 1994/5. The land now been completely remodelled....Bob
I wasnt born when this happend, but the mine closed in the late 80's I think and there was thousands of tonnes of coal still left at the site, so, the council at the time ordered for the removal of the coal by rail, this happend in 1991/92(I was born in 92, LOL), and seemed to last for many years. The council wanted to move the coal as cheaply as passible without causing any enviromentas disturbance so rail was the only answer, it wouldnt have been viable to use road transport and still isnt now
