P.S. When I tried to put the link for the instructional videos in my response, I got an error message. Anyone know how to get past that? The user name for the Instyler company is "InstylerHair".
Thank you very much for the well-done demo. You have beautiful skin and a really cute way about you. I just got my Instyler last week off EBay for $60, NIB, including Thermal Guard and free S/H. In the booklet, they recommend not to use styling products unless you have fine, thin hair. If you go to the 5th video in their 2011 instructional DVD on Youtube though, she recommends using products for thick/coarse/curly hair too. Confusing...
Hi I plan on buying the Instyler in two weeks. I have been seeing reviews on youtube and not on youtube. My questions are How does the style last? Does you instyler still work after a year? and Do you still use the instyler?
@jlowmanjal yea! I just got mine and just getting the hang of it, but I agree it would be better if the barrel changed direction when u switched sides! However, I THINK with more practice it won't be so bothersome:)
so u can put product on it and it wont damage the iron or your hair? I love it i have 2 and they are the best but i never used any product while using it just my washed hair
I Want To Order The Instyler But It Costs So Much. Everyone Says That It Is Worth The Costs So I Guess I Will Get It. By The Way I Loved The Video But I Didnt Like How The Steam Made It Look Like You Were Burning Your Hair Because It Was A Lot And It Looked Just Like It Would Look When I Burn My Hair At Times. And Its Crazy Because You Said That You Just Washed Your Hair. But I Liked The Results After You Were Done (^_^)
i am getting the instyler for my bday and my hair is the same texture. since the results are based on what products you use then what will not be a good idea to use. cuz before i straighten my hair, i use olive oil shampoo and conditioner. Do you think my results will be as good as urs?
@21497valentina I think if you keep the products you use beforehand simple, then you will have good results. My hair was just washed, and I had some butters in it, so just simple stuff.
i have an instyler too and i read the instructions saw the video it brings and the infomercial and they all say not to use any liquids on ur hair before using it no oils to protect or anything and i do that and my hair gets amazing results anywyas tho she used some oils and still got the results so i guess its ok o.o but i use the oils after i iron it..
I dont know bout yall but i burned the hell out my forehead with that thing!!! Lol But it is a great product and it does give you good shine you just have to be careful
Amazing results!!! I bought this from Ulta last spring and was highly disappointed so I took it back. I have natural, thick, shoulder length hair and usually use a flat iron to get rid of my kinky curl. I couldn't get to my roots with the InStyler, and refused to pay tht much money because of it. My grandmother just got me one for Christmas yesterday not knowing of my dilemma... Watching this video, I now kno how to attack my roots! Imma give it a second chance... Thank u!
Gorgeous hair! I was planning on buying the Instyler today, but wanted to see some reviews and see it in action first. This video made up my mind. TO THE STORE!!!
@kweenybee Good luck with it. I did see them selling it in Walmart as a Christmas set so you may be able to catch it discounted today. All holiday stuff was discounted.
@jadenight0 sometimes the products you use beforehand can have an effect. If you have some butter or something, try adding that only to your hair before you use the iron. And doing it in smaller sections help too.
I wanna suggest something. When you straighten your roots you might wanna hold the iron together so that it rotates as it does on the rest of your hair. The rotating is what keeps the iron from damaging your hair.
@unkmostunknown I believe the rotating is for the smoothing and shining. I move it quickly so rotating wouldn't really matter IMO but I will keep that in mind for the next time. Can't hurt right?
Why do you use the barrel to smooth your roots? Why do you go over it twice? I think that is over kill. If the product is as good as they say, you should not have to do all of that.
@carebear576 I use the barrel to smooth my roots because it doesn't get close enough to the roots without burning me. And I go over it twice because eventhough its gets straight in one pass, it get super straight in two. Even on the commercial for it, they use two passes so it not being advertised as something its not. It does work.
@carebear576 Most people have do to two passes, even with the top rated, most expensive flat irons. Remember, a person's hair texture (kinky vs. curly) can also dictate how easy it is to straighten. Personally, I am relaxed and I would recommend the Instyler because it doesn't damage my hair at all (important since relaxers are damaging in and of themselves).
@williams8410@MSEBONYSEDC it was on the highest setting but remember i had a heat protectant that was like a gel so it was kinda wet and also had oil and butters in my hair so it was just reacting to those, it didn't burn my hair, my curls reverted right back.
Stuning your hair is beautiful. Best review I've seen on the In-Styler. Girl, you did that. Your hair was so healthy and had a natural shine. Now I wanna get one. Thank you so mush 4 the tip on how to use 4 natural hair.
Well I am completely natural. I have never ever had a perm or a relaxer in my life and i want to know if my hair will be as str8 as urs and as pretty if i use the instyler instead of using a hotcomb!
@jlake18 If you wash and prepare your hair right, your hair should be perfectly straight. I don't get perms, I'm 100% natural also. Just use the tip for the roots getting straight and you should be good to go.
@jlake18 it's expensive but I will say that it was worth it for the price, now if you don't use a flat iron and you want to try one, you can check my other flat ironing video where I use the Tigi Bedhead flat iron and I still love that one... you can try that one first and if you don't get the results, try to invest in the Instyler, what hair type do you have???
@mzmillion Natural FIne hair, its nowhere near as thick as yours but it is not thick enough that you can see my scalp! Its a pretty good grade of hair
@tweetybabygirlR my hair was in braids for a braidout but I did this instead. I would recommend a good heat protectant or you can use oils that have a high heat point so it can help protect your hair. I used a little thermasilk heat activated gel that I rubbed in. Also things that have a lot of silicones, help protect, so a glistener or serum helps to. Remember you want to use WHATEVER protects your hair regardless of ings when heat styling your hair....
@slimredsz I'm guessing your getting hot while you are doing your hair. A good way to do it to seperate your hair into sections like 6 maybe, and after each section, you can do a quick pin curl and secure it with a bobby pin, you can see that on the top of mine while I'm doing, a little curl, it will help with your hair being hot.
@tweetybabygirlR lol thanks... 1.5 hours is actually long to me but I guess considering my hair was extremely straight, it wasn't wasted. You should give it a try, just make sure you use a heat protectant.
@PrettyBrownEyes718 its a really good iron! The best I have used and if it can get my natural hair that straight just imagine what it does to people with already straight hair.
Do u have a perm because my daughter does not and her hair didn't look near as good
