you are so right brother I was at WLC and was told to pull my BIG RED ONE patch off and make it black and told them that this is the combat patch that was given to me to wear in Iraq, and this is how the unit wears it, was told that the policy changed so had to change it. I think it shows how history is very close to being lost. I have very fond memories of this unit and always will....
I'm a former Dagger myself. I had to go to reclass school because of some medical crap. 1/63 AR all the way. I agree totally with the 'Big Black One' BS. The army needs to take some heritage and esprit de corps lessons from the USMC, as shameful as it sounds for this soldier to admit it. Stay safe, soldier!

I was with this division during desert storm. We were called the third brigade of the 1st infantry division. I witnessed some real heroes out there.
