@wayawsome168 In reality, armor doesn't really slow you down at all. People in full plate armor can backflip, do cartweels, and pretty much anything you could do without armor. Accept maby swim... but still. Full plate is actualy less restrictive than chain mail.

Lehran, better known as Sephiran, became Zelgius' new master after Greil left Daein. At some point, Lehran had Zelgius infiltrate Daein, becoming one of its 4 Riders under the identity of the Black Knight.
@tranhax666 Lehran wanted Ashnard to become interested in his medallion, since his goal was to release Yune, causing Ashera to destroy mankind. He sent Zelgius, as the Black Knight, to retrieve the medallion from Greil. That's all Lehran instructed him to do, but Zelgius killed Greil as the result of his own ambition to see if he had surpassed his teacher.
When he fought Ike in Path of Radiance, Zelgius found out from Ike that Greil had crippled himself, making his fight with him empty.

Some gameplay updates to the next FE installment would be cool. Like in FE8 where you can train your characters outside of the story. Or allowing different types of battles to be available (one on one, battalion against battalion, group on group,etc).

look critically at SD my friend. the character development was SHIT, the plot (baddies come and take your kingdom, you go away, come and take you kingdom back) was a 10 year old's, and the graphical enhancement wasn't even that good. just look at it seriously, its one of the worst to me
It was a remake. The first Fire Emblem had the same plot. All they really did was add new mechanics and characters (I never used class-switch, but it was a good idea). They didn't touch the plot at all. Back when it first came out, you didn't NEED a plot. Seriously, look at Mario. The plot for every game that's been released is "The princess has been kidnapped by a turtle. Go save her." Yeah, real character development there.
I have to agree with you there, RD was my first fe and in rd you didn't grow a connection with characters like boyd if you havn't played por, and because RD is split into parts, you don't get much time to train your people from part 1

Fire Emblem always had a good plot...but backstory, character development, and plot should not be the determining factors in whether or not a game is good. I play the game for gamePLAY, not story. Story is just tacked on there to give you motivation...now, it seems that a game can't be good without a story. I don't know about you, but in Fallout 3, I had more fun just roaming around and shooting anything that moves than I did fiddling around with the 'plot.'
How do I not understand? Game plot is not something that you play a game for. The one exception to this rule is any JRPG in existence, and even then, most of those don't have an incredibly good plot.
The gameplay for Shadow Dragon was really good. The game itself was a bit short, but at least they tried something new with class-change. My only complaint is with the multiplayer...there's no possible way that there's fair ground in that. If you have an overpowered team, you don't need skill.
No-one plays mario for the plot, FE:DS was a horrific game, and If I was aware that it was lacking so much character development, plot and a bunch of other things from the GBA/GC/Wii FE games, I would never have bought it. The other games are far superior, and all I can say is it sucked that they didn't give that an overhaul to bring it up to the high quality set forth by every other english translated FE game.

And what did it bring new to the table? Broken online due to forged brave weapons and nothing new in any other mode or gameplay feature in the game. Other than loljobchoices [sucked]

No, I expect my video games to entertain me. Fire Emblem SD failed at it. Hard. Being a remake of an old game does not give it any free pass to smooth over how bad it is.
Being a good game 19 years ago does not mean it is a good game now. And as for plot heavy vs final fantasy 1, in that case, FF1 on the GBA must have had a complete plot rehaul since it was much better than the virtually non-existant "plot" in FE SD.
The game was entertaining for me because it was a good SRPG. The plot of Final Fantasy was just..."You're the chosen warriors. Go save the world." Not exactly complex. Fire Emblem was more compelling than that...exile from kingdom, retaking the kingdom, then stopping the dragon. A bit more complex, but not by very.
I also couldn't care less about the supporting characters. In FE10, I only cared about the Greils, and not about anyone else except how useful they could be.
Except for Edward. I spent a lot of time on him, got him up to a level 20 Trueblade WITHOUT Master Seals (though there was a lot of bonus xp), he turned out as one of my best units. But I agree for the most part. You don't get the Dawn Brigade long enough to really develop them, which sucks.
i don't play the fire emblem games for the plot but you are right, i don't like the DS game alot despite how much fun my friend say it is, its just the same thing as all the other FE games, heres a war, go win it. I like the GC and Wii ones because they had a new perspective to them in class and weapon system. DS version didn't do much of that. beside i don't really like marth, he looks like a homo.

It was harder in this game then in the one for the GC I owned the BK in the GC game two attacks was all it took in this one it kept going back and forth with the specials Ike and the BK kept healing themselfs to full health using there specials Aeather and idk the name of the BK.
The black knight is basically my role model in life. You just gotta love being an 8-foot unstoppable hardass.

I am actually very impressed with the story in Radiant Dawn. If you can make me say after killing an enemy character; "I cant kill that sonuvabitch enough," then you are as unto a god among mere storywriters.

I was angry when it got 6/10-8/10 on game reviews because it lacked "originality" and "confounded even the most experienced tactians". The freaking reviewers were complaining and giving it bad reviews kuz they got pwned while playing it!

But it's true that in comparison to other Fire emblems it was... not as good.
While I play the other games about ten times, or something I played Radiant Dawn only two times (One time normal, second for the extra)
There are too many chapters, it doesn't matter if someone dies, in the next chapter you will fight with other characters anyways.
The support system SUCKS, that has to be said.
Did I mention that it's too easy?
I'm a real Fire Emblem Fan, but RD didn't really get me.

LOL i always skip maybe 9/10ths of all the cutscenes where they talk because its always about (literally) 20 minutes of reading between fights so i understand. It's really political with drama slapped between a few characters.

What was wrong with Shadow Dragon? Ripping on SD is pretty much like ripping on the original game. They only changed a few things, and even then the changes they made were pretty good.

look critically at SD my friend. the character development was SHIT, the plot (baddies come and take your kingdom, you go away, come and take you kingdom back) was a 10 year old's, and the graphical enhancement wasn't even that good. just look at it seriously, its one of the worst to me

It was a remake. The first Fire Emblem had the same plot. All they really did was add new mechanics and characters (I never used class-switch, but it was a good idea). They didn't touch the plot at all. Back when it first came out, you didn't NEED a plot. Seriously, look at Mario. The plot for every game that's been released is "The princess has been kidnapped by a turtle. Go save her." Yeah, real character development there.

I have to agree with you there, RD was my first fe and in rd you didn't grow a connection with characters like boyd if you havn't played por, and because RD is split into parts, you don't get much time to train your people from part 1

FE is a fucking tactical RPG, it is EXPECTED that there was a good plot and excellent character development - mario is a side scrolling adventure game for which nobody gives a shit about fucking plot! get your shit straight. So by your argument that it was a remake, then I say that the original FE sucked, and every one after it has been increasingly better

Fire Emblem always had a good plot...but backstory, character development, and plot should not be the determining factors in whether or not a game is good. I play the game for gamePLAY, not story. Story is just tacked on there to give you motivation...now, it seems that a game can't be good without a story. I don't know about you, but in Fallout 3, I had more fun just roaming around and shooting anything that moves than I did fiddling around with the 'plot.'

How do I not understand? Game plot is not something that you play a game for. The one exception to this rule is any JRPG in existence, and even then, most of those don't have an incredibly good plot.
The gameplay for Shadow Dragon was really good. The game itself was a bit short, but at least they tried something new with class-change. My only complaint is with the multiplayer...there's no possible way that there's fair ground in that. If you have an overpowered team, you don't need skill.

No-one plays mario for the plot, FE:DS was a horrific game, and If I was aware that it was lacking so much character development, plot and a bunch of other things from the GBA/GC/Wii FE games, I would never have bought it. The other games are far superior, and all I can say is it sucked that they didn't give that an overhaul to bring it up to the high quality set forth by every other english translated FE game.

...how come everyone acts like FE: SD is supposed to be completely new? It's a remake of the very first Fire Emblem, with updated graphics and class system. They can't really expand on a story that's already been locked into place.
The first true Fire Emblem DS should be good, because it will actually have new characters.
I said this in the first comment...you're hating on a remake, and that's kind of like hating on the original. Also, story shouldn't be that important in a game.

Being released in 2008/2009 for full price means it needs to compete with other games on the market that it's competing with, and given the DS has several very good tactical rpgs, fire emblem ds was a huge dissapointment.
Why do you act like a shoddy version of a game is enough in a series of quality games. Shadow dragon is easily the worst in the series by a big margin.
When Super Smash Bros provided more character development than an RPG about marth, you know somethings wrong.

And harhar, no-one plays RPGs for the plot? Wow, you must be in some crazy dimension, given that ROLE playing games are there to give you a ROLE in the game for which you are to play. Said role is normally part of a STORY which consists of CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT and PLOT, both of which are hugely lacking in FE:DS.
And what did it bring new to the table? Broken online due to forged brave weapons and nothing new in any other mode or gameplay feature in the game. Other than loljobchoices [sucked]

I don't. Most of the plots have been done so many times before that it isn't funny. I play the games for gameplay, not plot.
Again, the game is a REMAKE of the ORIGINAL FIRE EMBLEM. So, by saying that, you're saying the original Fire Emblem lacked plot...it was one of the most plot-heavy games of its time, moreso than Final Fantasy I.
(To continue) This generation has spoiled gamers. Most expect a rich plot and story and graphics, I just expect a fun game. That's the only thing that matters.

No, I expect my video games to entertain me. Fire Emblem SD failed at it. Hard. Being a remake of an old game does not give it any free pass to smooth over how bad it is.
Being a good game 19 years ago does not mean it is a good game now. And as for plot heavy vs final fantasy 1, in that case, FF1 on the GBA must have had a complete plot rehaul since it was much better than the virtually non-existant "plot" in FE SD.

The game was entertaining for me because it was a good SRPG. The plot of Final Fantasy was just..."You're the chosen warriors. Go save the world." Not exactly complex. Fire Emblem was more compelling than that...exile from kingdom, retaking the kingdom, then stopping the dragon. A bit more complex, but not by very.
I also couldn't care less about the supporting characters. In FE10, I only cared about the Greils, and not about anyone else except how useful they could be.

and even then the greil mercanaries is overally the best "group" u will be playing with over the span of the entire game,
everyone from part 2 is ok to me, and everyone from part 1 has potential but usuallly end up being outclassed by the time part 3 ends

Except for Edward. I spent a lot of time on him, got him up to a level 20 Trueblade WITHOUT Master Seals (though there was a lot of bonus xp), he turned out as one of my best units. But I agree for the most part. You don't get the Dawn Brigade long enough to really develop them, which sucks.

i don't play the fire emblem games for the plot but you are right, i don't like the DS game alot despite how much fun my friend say it is, its just the same thing as all the other FE games, heres a war, go win it. I like the GC and Wii ones because they had a new perspective to them in class and weapon system. DS version didn't do much of that. beside i don't really like marth, he looks like a homo.

I remember this fight! It was harder in this game then in the one for the GC I owned the BK in the GC game two attacks was all it took in this one it kept going back and forth with the specials Ike and the BK kept healing themselfs to full health using there specials Aeather and idk the name of the BK.
