  • It is good to see you working your students this way and really working to help them. Keep it up

  • the street fighter has potential his instincts are sharp i'm impressed he has natural ability. Also he blocked some of his opponents attacks someone should take him and refine him good stuff.

  • great stuff. the only thing i'd say is the student needs to commit a little more to some of his attacks.

  • Very impressive. I like the contrast of fighting styles between your student and the street fighter. Some of my kung fu brothers who have competed in San Da credit Xing Yi for bringing them victory on the Lei Tai. Mantis is also a lot more effective than people give it credit. My Tai Chi Mantis sifu is one of the best fighters I've ever seen. It's good to see you promoting traditional MA.

  • @pestshield Thank you for the kind words. I still training and learning.

  • LOL. my man was dropping D's on 'em!

  • Damn BT thought u was 40 sumthing.Still quick on ur feet keep doing what ur doing.Peace

  • @slimadocious1 42 years young brother. I just train my martial arts everyday, tai Chi, BaGua . Xing yi . praying Mantis , Qi Gong. and eat right these days ..lol

  • @blacktaoist That's what's up i got 5 years til i'm 42 hope i can stay in great shape.

  • @slimadocious1 You just keep training brother. There a lot of cats out here in this world that love to talk a good fight game but in all true reality many of them are out of shape. Why you see many of these kind of people always posting on the the tube or forums on the net like they masters trying to give so called advice . When in fact they don't do any kind of training. Yet these kind of people will set back and try and belittle other people , because they don't train they self. To funny lol

  • @blacktaoist Thax bro.I'm starting to see it all.Like u said imma do me peace.

  • whats this boxing?i wanna see real xing yi, baby!

  • @dragob732 @dragob732 I don't box. I just know how to move when free fighting . My student is a novice and my goal is to help him learn how to deal and use his Beng Quan freely in free style sparring. In a fight you can't use Xing Yi Quan postures as if you training classical solo form brother . In free fighting your posture must be free and alive not classical posture..lol

  • @blacktaoist hmmm the sparring you do with him looks a lot like boxing, do you watch a lot of fights and incorporate that into your martial arts?

  • @itsabird as I point out all I'm doing is free body movement which I'm using some basic praying mantis fist attacks. , I just executing the techniques in a free style manner not classical kung fu postures. But using more freedom of movement and attack. I watch a lot of fights (boxing & mma) and yes I incorporate some ideas and tactics I feel that is useful for combat.

  • @blacktaoist you look at most Xing yi , BaGua or tai Chi players many can look good doing classical forms but soon they step on the mat to spar or mix it up with someone they can't hang or get beat easy in free fighting . Because many limit their self in to trying to fight or use their techniques classical as if they playing solo form trying to pull off a one two technique.Forms train Qi . Root , Mind, body technique which are all base off principles But in fighting one must be free for change.

  • @blacktaoist So I follow the teaching of my BaGuaZhang teacher that there is no way to characterize any Chinese martial art because they all are based on principles. Which mean any style that is base on principles strategy can change as the situation state and its technique can change to a certain extent with each martial artist who practices their art.

  • @blacktaoist Because when free fighting or real fight its best to be formless and spontaneously. Not try and fight classical kung fu with preconceived beliefs in mind brother...lol In the end it not going to matter to you how you look when you fight, what going to count is if you can adapt to fit the situation . One of the principle in Xing yi is bridge and finish . now how one execute this principle depends on ones own individual expression of their style they follow.

  • @blacktaoist yeah i know this ,but your student is a bit insecure before attacking , a bit like a boxing match, with time he will learn how to close that distance and to end the fight as quickly as possible, good luck in your training, lol

  • @dragob732 Brother this was just a friendly sparring match I set up for my student to learn from. As I already point out my student just started to learn free fighting so yes he going to be insecure as anyone thats is new to free fighting practice. Everyone have to start from some where. Opinion are opinions but in the real world of combat close the distance is easy said then done in real world reality with some one attacking back at you no matter what the skill level ...lol

  • seems like the student couldve benefited from more circular motion

  • @veuvecliquot true in deed brother. But he a novice and he learn in do time.
