what gear are you on when ur performing this? because at this license test we got here they ask u to do this on a loose gravel surface and on 1st gear only... so i have this problem or fear or stalling the bike when im trying to rev the bike on n off with the clutch in.. it only happens with the lower cc bikes and i have no clue y they stall on me :-S any advice?
Amusing video and good points to hammer in to those riders who don't have the benefit of the MSF course. I didn't have to do the weaves and stuff at the DMV because I took the MSF course, but I'm now 3 years or so later putting rings in my little bike and am scouting out some good parking lots that are empty on the weekend to do some parking lot practice to keep skills sharp and improve!
ok crash.... i did fail on just the off-set weave alone! i did everything u show in this video NOT to do.... didnt realize it... but i WAS looking down...took it to wide like u show.... stoped & ask if i could restart... DONT DO THAT...automatic fail! nervous of going back.... practicing, but was STILL looking down! ( 20 oz. water bottles? cones) now after this video & having just that fact pointed out... did it no prob, thanx man!! feel good, doing test today!! let u know how i did..
Hey Crash . . . dipped out first time I did the MOST test and then discovered your vids! Presto . . . common sense advice for the common man - thanks buddy.
Absolutety love this video. Just practiced this at the MSF BRC. keeping your head up is the ultimate key. 1st time on a bike in 15 yrs, breezed through no prob. Love the commentary, Capt.
I destroyed this test this pass weekend. I felt like crap. I freaked out even though I practiced this like crazy.
I think I know what I did wrong after watching your video. I was looking at the cones, using to much throttle, and just nervous as heck as I had a bunch of on lookers.
Going to practice tonight! Keep the vids coming!!!
Hey crash, after over six years I put my MC back on hre in Minnesota, Arden Hills has a tough test pad, and almost forgot I did this with a full dressed GL1100 not had graceful has some large bikes, but Ok, it can be done, the sharpe left turn hit the outside cone right side coming out, not much spc there, just watching ride like a pro Vid's and practice slow speed alot! would like ta see some bike bike skill stuff here thank's!
Thank you so much Crash! Thanks to this video, I passed my MSF range test this weekend. I look forward to watching, and practicing, more skills as you present them. (Except for wheelies & stoppies.)
No. You just need to practice some, I used to do this on a GSXR1100 and I've seen R1s and GSXR1000s pull it off without issues. Goldwings can do it, so can big Harleys. (Here's a trick I didn't mention: Late Apex the cones...)
LOL Ive watched ALOT of videos on youtube about motorcycles and you are the best and funniest! Keep up the good work!

The garbage thing is awesome! Be sure to warn people in Season 2 not to use sharp objects. Duh, but some people might forget and pop a tire.

In Kansas they put them about 1/2 a foot away from each other (width). No joke. I actually almost failed because I was planning for the 2 foot width.
