  • id land in the feild right next to it

  • @mattw331 and you would collapse the gear, flip over and die. Plowed fields are death traps, and the landing gear on a beechcraft is more suited for paved runways.

  • HIRED FOR NYPD!

  • Those truck drivers are awesome.

  • It's nice to see an intelligent & professional law enforcement officer...

  • @hugetacoman I deserves 10 squad cars because it's a plane landing on the highway. They don't know if it has a bomb on board or highjacker or a drunk. They are doing their job.

  • Yeah... A fully intact single engine plane that is blocking one lane of a minor highway really deserves 10 police cars. Fuck the police.

  • @hugetacoman tax dollars at work

  • american truck drivers = awesome xD

  • Good job Trucker drivers holding the traffic back!!! Nice landing Ace!

  • I wonder what was going through the minds of the people who were drinving past!

  • @ LethaIHobo I think thay will dissasemble tha plan and put it overs some truck..

  • Police: Do you know how fast you were going?

    Pilot: 120knots @ 70% power sir.

  • Another reason to carry Duct Tape onboard. and Super Glue.

  • One of these vehicles doesn't belong... hmmmm

  • Hello everyone :) If anyone is getting emails or responses from a user called flapsdwn I would higly suggest not responding because his only here to piss people off and all he wants is to start a shitfight with someone. Best to ignore and let him be in his pissed off life... :) Enjoy the video everyone

  • @GTAIVPOLICE Fuck you. I noticed YOU were hear to watch it. I'm sure the aviation community in "your" country (you sure didnt seem to "brag" about your heritage when dissing us). Can you even attain a civilian pilot's license in "your" country? Suck my American COCK.

  • lmfao He spelled Greg! Who doesn't know how to spell Greg!!??

  • @wimbriemooreatgmail

if you are talking about the interview of course i know how to spell it.it can be Tom and you still have to say & spell it for the camera

  • @7089540230 You could just say Greg without spelling it out. I want those two seconds of my life back that I wasted hearing him spell out Greg!

  • omg i live there

  • Is that a Bonanza?

  • hope the truckers got soem kind of reward for helping the piolt. they saved so many lives.grest video

  • A mfreind of mine landed his RV-6 on the same highway. I don't know whether this north or south of us because I don't know where Dwight Il is.

  • I WOULD OFF LANDED IN TOP OF A 18 WHEELER N KEEP IT GOING ON THE ROAD TILL THE NEXT EXIT...LOLZ

  • where did u land, dude?

  • holy shit, thats like 20 minutes away from where i live

  • @xBulletInABible

is that S**t Really 20 minutes away....you live near a church,or the bible screen name told me it is kinda strange that you would post a swear word...just wondering

  • @xBulletInABible along with 1000000 other people

  • i think this is a Piper Bonanza F33

  • @hk15 DUDE UR WRONG ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY ITS A BEECH NOT PIPER

  • @JamesSkylarLaneRushi holy f...... ahhahaa

    you is right

  • @hk15 , Piper bonanza?? that doesnt even exist, Ther is a Bonanza, But this is Bonanza A36

  • @hawker445 i know it's one mistake!

  • how much does those off stip landings cost?

  • man that officer was dry wasn't he?

  • how did he get out of there? fix the wing and take off ;-)?

  • @LethalHobo Because it was a low-wing and impacted a reflector post, it could not be fixed at the side of the road. A C-150-172 wing can be taken off really quickly by an A&P and helper but the Piper is a little more problematic. As far as I know, the entire aircraft was trailered to a hangar where it could be fixed. As small as it was, that fix was not something that happened overnight but it is back in the air again.

  • @LethalHobo more then likely they had a mechanic remove the wings and used a flatbed to take it back to the field. That is not something you could fix on the side of the road and have someone take off.

  • @LethalHobo That wing damage isn't what brought it down. That occurred on the ground. Even then its gonna need to have the wings pulled off and be trailered to an A&P's hangar to be fully repaired.

  • Comment removed

  • @rubber314chicken This most likely wont occur since the aircraft is on the small side and airport is in close proximity as stated in the video. Removing the wings is quite laborsome for to do on the roadside. law enforcements overall objective is to get the roadway back to safe travel as soon as possible. but they are waiting on the FAA to make an appearance 1st.

  • @LethalHobo most probably troopers called a rollback tow truck and escorted it off the roadway once the FAA made their initial inspection. Derek's Towing & Recovery

  • @LethalHobo Yup!

  • How'd the truck drivers know to block the road?

  • @FROZYO

most truck drivers are more aware and alert of the roadways than the average car driver.

  • it seems lately, there have been a lot of emergencies that involve aircraft landing on highways. Seen it quite a bit on the news the past few years

  • Not really. Incidents happen. It only seems more common because the media is more aggressive to get more news and pack it into smaller slots. You might not believe this, but we actually had a time when the media was somewhat more credible than they are now. Not by much, but there was a difference.

  • Actually, the guy was setting down to pick up a drug-smuggling task force of pygmies. They'd just scored a baggie at the 7-Eleven near the offramp. The pilot spilled a Slurpee on the autopilot and fried everything.

  • Pretty sure my brother & fiance were on this call!!

  • "Your brother and fiance", Firefightersfiance??

I sure hope your brother isn't your fiance!! ;o)

  • Did you not see where it says Brother & Fiance?

    Salu2!

  • hey i live there and i saw it my brother went to that fire call

  • from what i know as a pilot the A36 Bonanza is a pretty solid aircraft. He made a great landing on a highway. Often times cars don't move.

  • Hats off to the two truck drivers

  • Though T-34s wings fall off in flight, bonanzas do use the same wing as the T-34 if im not mistaken

  • yeah they do lol

  • not nesecerly. in general there safe ish planes to fly. its not always the planes fault..

  • Nien. Know what you're talking about. Maybe try flying them. Trust them more then an underpowered Cessna.

  • I got about 1000 hours in Piper Apache pa 23-160 (older plane) and going on 80 hours in a Grand Caravan.... The only thing I can tell you BeechCraft should only be piloted by experience pilots with many hundred of hours. The aircraft (beechcraft) is sooo powerful it has a tendency to want to roll sometimes.

There awesome aircraft dont get me wrong but many pilots even experienced pilots crash em, just look at the beechcraft that crashed in Nevada a few days ago.

  • @thermoid The OTHER poster DID know he was talking about. Nein? I guess they got the label "Dr Killer" by accident? The "underpowered Cessna" means a slower ground track and more time to set up, etc. for a low time pilot. All the other poster meant is the inherrent qualities of a Bonanza (NOT being underpowered) mean the airplane can get ahead of you quick if you aren't on your "A" game ie an experienced pilot. It is also why you can't insure one unless you have an IFR ticket. "Trust," huh?

  • @flapsdwn You can't insure a monaza unless you have an IFR qualification? I did'nt know that.

  • @Vyppaaa11 Getting insurance is more and more difficult all the time. Many aero-insurance companies want to see total hours, hours in type as well as instrument, etc before they will even quote a price. Insuring a high performance with both more than 200hp and retractable gear makes the price go up exponentially unless you have a gaggle of hours in the particular aircraft. Happy trails.

  • @flapsdwn I ment bonaza, sorry did'nt chek what I wrote.

  • The big picture (arrogant pilots and all) is that everyone is ok with minimum damage! This could be a wake-up call to pilots who need to "go back to basics". I agree, even some private pilots who reach 100 hours think they are perfect.

  • AmericanPilot Wrote:

As far as I',m concerned, 100 hrs. is just enough time to gain a bit of confidence that can quickly erode into complacency.

  • @Americanpilot1228 I dunno about everyone being OK with minimal damage but an A36 does land a little hot and considering that the poor bastid' was landing on a freakin freeway, not a wide stretch of concrete with LOW white lighting but HIGH reflector posts, I think its incredible that the guy set it down and walked away with only some sheet metal and maybe some spar work. I think you have a couple thousand hours of turbine time now and are pretty condescending.

  • @Americanpilot1228 By the way, the A36 pilot is a commercial pilot (sorry, not an ATP GOD like you) with an instrument rating and 1100 hours in type. I'm STILL not sure how a miraculous bit of piloting (when was the last time you competed with 18 wheelers for your spot?) somehow got to be a slam on 100 hr pilots who "think they are perfect." I didn't even see any arrogant 100 pilots.. only arrogant douchebag I saw was you.

  • @Americanpilot1228 We have BFR's for a reason, however all too often they get a buddy to just sign it off. If you don't know the whole story how can you assume it was the pilots fault, Could have been an A&P that left a rag near the intake etc. Not necessarily the pilots fault... Then again it very well could have been, if the pilot had enough altitude he/she should have taken a field if there are any around there.

  • @Americanpilot1228 Its awfully easy to pick on 100 hr pilots now that you aren't one. Perhaps the sentiment should be that ANY pilot, a 100 hr newbie or even an American ATP rated hero can get complacent ie failing to do a weigh and balance, improper flaps setting on take off or flying into inclement weather. I'm almost sure every 737, MD80 or Citation I've heard about being flown into the side of a mountain in IFR conditions was not piloted by a "100 hr private that thinks he is perfect."

  • Liverpool crew hahaha some stupid pommy ass,

  • nice cop car lol

  • Yes, the Bonanzas were known as Dr. killers...Drs. used to buy them without instrument rating, get into IFR, get vertigo and make a big hole on the ground with it...Now without IFR rating you cannot insure them at all..

  • bonanzas have a bit of a bad rep cause of stupid people. Its kinda funny how we rely on docs for our health, yet they cant understand basic airmanship. I really wish people would stay proficient at reading the weather and realizing when they are pushing the limit. I work at my school's FBO, and you would be surprised at the stuff that happens. makes u wonder if people even think at all... lol

  • Draon1985:

One problem with doctors, & other highly paid professionals is that the confuse financial means with proficiency.

I think a major problem is the lack of requirements for recurrent training in order to maintain proficiency.

When I earned my PPL, the flight examiner reminded me that in reality, it was a "license to learn". Those words registered strongly with me.

Now, with an IFR tag, 30+ yrs. and 14,000+ hours later, I am committed to continuous learning.

  • anyone who is a pilot has made that commitment. If someone thinks that they are "done" when the written and flight test are passed, they are very wrong. I am currently working on my multi rating and will continue on withe the multi IFR. I am learning something new everytime i go flying. and that is a very valid statement about cofusing financial means with proficiency, degrees and high salary dont replace brains

  • Dragoon1985 Wrote:

Unfortunately, Dragoon, there are all too many pilots who simply won't go back to basics. Professional standing, high incomes, being decision makers, these things can breed arrogance.

I am still amazed at the number of highly educated pilots that I talk with who consider such emergencies as "fuel starvation" (nice phrase for "the idiot flew the plane until the tanks were sucked dry" as being "just one of those things".

  • I use to work a customer service job. And from that experience, i can honestly tell you that most people don't think...... Ever. lol

  • lol...You would think if you had your own plane you would have enough gas in it & not have to land it on the interstate because its on empty

  • @7089540230 What crystal ball did you pull out of your ass that the aircraft was "empty?" The pilot was approaching the runway and "experienced mechanical problems." You obviously know very little about emergency procedures or aviation. At least you had an "lol." I'm glad it made you laugh... an incredibly talented pilot that mitigated an incredibly dangerous problems with very minimal damage and no injuries. I wish you'd limit your replies to something you know something about. Moron.

  • @flapsdwn

flapsdwn....i am hoping your comment was not directed at me

i never said the plane was empty....i was there, there were 2 people in the plane

  • @flapsdwn empty as in no fuel

  • @thefloatingcheese2

Yea I did say empty as in no fuel as i was told when this happened that it was low on fuel and was the reason for the landing

  • @flapsdwn Hey everybody isnt it great we have such talented pilots like flapsdwn to tell us everything about aviation...HAHA My best guess at most u r a flight instructor or a keyboard pilot same thing really.........

  • @cessnaclub "Same thing really?" lol I never made any bragging statments about my piloting skills. In most all of my comments, I took exception to all the armchair quarterbacks that critiqued this poor pilot's experience when I doubt they've ever mitigated an emergency procedure themselves. Whatever i am or am not, I am not so fuckin lazy that I can't spell "you" or "are." My guess is you are some high school punk making shitty comments towards me between texts to "ur" little homies.

  • @flapsdwn Well I guess I Just proved my point. LOL My question to u is how does a 45 year old man have so much time to comment on youtube all day??? Dont u have a job os something? PS Im not a homie or whatever u called me I FO for a regional airline in AUS.Cheers

  • @cessnaclub hey cessnaclub what airline in AUS do you fly for?

  • @cessnaclub I don't "comment on YouTube all day" as you asserted. I also have no idea to what you "proved your point" about because it had been months since I gave a shit about your drivel. I digress. Thanks for being so concerned with my time, your concern makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I am indeed a 45 y/o man RETIRED from a public service job w/ two checks a month, bitch. I'm impressed with your FO in AUS (really). Too bad "kids" make any mutual professional courtesy impossible, huh?

  • @flapsdwn Ok but whats the point of getting two cheques a month if they are only for a tiny amount???? Your still as poor as a church rat..... Its obvious you have never had any career in your life or any advancement from public school. PS yes Im proud of the position im in because i worked hard for it and achived alot more than most people like you but is that a crime or something? WHY ARE YOU SO PISSED OFF AT EVERYONE?? ALL U DO HERE IS START SHIT WITH EVERYONE...

  • @cessnaclub LOL.. I don't "start shit with everyone," here but I terribly resent the armchair quarterbacks not just in aviation but in any number of areas that critique some poor bastard's emergency landing "like they could have done better," yada yada. As far as my "two teeny checks" as you put it, if you feel Arizona's State Retirement System's checks to retired public servants is small, then so be it. Advancement from school, herol?I have degrees in Fire Science, Paramedicine and JC AAS's.

  • @cessnaclub "Piss everyone off?' Not so much but I terribly resent the armchair quarterbacks in all areas of videos that minimize accomplishments like "they could have done better." You assert I have two teeny checks?" I guess "Arizona's State Retirement System for Public Servants" is small in your eyes? Ok, whatever, big guy. Never had a career or education? I have advanced degrees in Fire Science and Paramedicine w/ 3 addt'l JC - AAS's... and your education is? Poor as a church rat? LOL..

  • @cessnaclub Rather unfortutate that we all, as pilots, are not pseudo-respectful towards each other but all the keyboard rambos talk alot of shit behind the anonimity of this imperesonal medium. I'm sure you are all "yes sir, no sir" and "yes ma'am, no ma'am" in person but get pretty brave on your computer, huh. Does sending shitty comments off topic make up for a little dick or what?

  • @flapsdwn I couold'nt agree more. I'm a pilot myself at it just agravatesme to no end when people that have never flown an aircraft say the pilot did a bad job just because his plane was damaged. Because all pilots know that the damage done by a deliniator post is going to be alot less than the damage done by a semi nailing his aircraft going 65 mph.

  • @cessnaclub

seems to know it all ha?

  • @flapsdwn

just seen this...who the fuck you calling a Moron? I filmed this incident Im No Moron lets see you get a Camera and post some stuff so i can comment on it

  • @7089540230 I was calling YOU a moron. I could give a shit about the fiming of it. Cool. The "film" portion was excellent.. well done.. bravo...super... swell - so fookin' what? My comment [moron] that you "just seen this," (I'm sure your english teacher is really proud) was the original bullshit about the aircraft being "empty" and so many people "armchair quarterbacking" an aviation incident when you know nothing, apparently, about aviation. I'll film - right after you get a pilot's license.

  • @flapsdwn

I Most Certainly Hope your Comment is Not Directed at me....Cause i Dont Know What you are Talking About

with Empty...And im No Fuckin Moron Someone Else Commented and You Replied to me

  • @flapsdwn I couldnt come up with any other comment. Nice comeback towards this moron. I know alot about aviation. This pilot probley had something break or malfunction in the Engine or panel gyros... Thats my guess. Or the fuel system was wacky. Who knows. At least he got on I-55 safely.

  • At least the Doctor Killer lives.

  • lol..Liverpool crew.I didn't know you had gangsters in Britain..What a name..Liverpool, sounds fucking nasty.

  • Haha

  • Shut the fuck up fucking dumbass, looks like you dont have a life, since you dont have a future lazy ass motherfucker. Pilot's are one of the hardest jobs on this planet and also the top payed so don't talk loser.

  • Bollocks...

  • So people that enjoy planes have no life? Please do not be bitter because you are misinformed.

  • thats a piper sagato

  • a piper sagato! i think you meant saratoga. and as roblor1500 said, your a dumbass. it is an a-36! LMAO. some people are soo freaking dumb!

  • i was actually on 55 when the plane came in for a landing on my way to bloomington.

  • The N number is on the top of the vertical stab.

  • Why is there no tail number on this plane? Haha. Damn.

  • they couldent get in the sidewalk that is dwight airport

  • woot i live in dwight :D happy to see my town on youube

  • Good video! Im glad it was still out there when you got there....I wasnt sure if it was when we talked on the phone. We get weird stuff all the time in Dwight...this didnt suprise me lol!!!!!!

  • I cant thank you enough for all your help with this one Scott!! stay safe ts

  • What another great video!

  • hod do u get that of the highway

I was always wondering how they would do that???

  • Large flatbed tow truck

  • or simply fix the plane and take off

  • In this case it was a large flatbed. the aluminum on the plane was bent enough that it had to be grounded completely. The damage was not too horrible but just not flyable. It has since been fixed and she is still a beautiful bird that I see in the sky from time to time.

  • Nice video ... looks like this is your week for aviation.

  • LOL..its been quite a week in chicago for things coming out of the sky..thank god no one was injured in all 3 crashes
