  • Awesome tire, I had these on a Saab 99 decades ago. Now owning a Honda Fit I am using a set of four General Tire Altimax Arctic's. I can't say they are better than the Nokian Hakkapeliitta but they are very good.

If you drive any distance in your commute, a winter specific tire is a must, you simply will not believe the difference they make. I was stopped by a sheriff, and was going to be issued a ticket for to fast for conditions, I stopped so short that he had to go around me, NO ticket

  • Any experience on ice? There is sove very intricate siping-design on the outer/side tread blocks on the R - similar to a WS60/70 Blizzak. For ice I'd imagine. The RSi does not have that. I hear the R is better for Ice and the RSi is better for snow. In fresh snow the RSi is great. Has trouble with inclines on ice/snow from a stand-still. In that situation on powder, get's right up. RWD, open-diff., no traction-control.

  • Beautiful camera work. Nice music too. Would love to seem them in action. I have Hakka RSi's. How do these R's compare?

  • @1984AP well i haven't used RSi but now i own some nice brand new set of nokian hkpl R, never got stuck this winter, even though that I would often check my quattro capabilities by driving into snow. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to have myself towed out, would always escape myself. Thanks to Nokian hkpl R.

  • So sentimentale
