  • Buy a Thinkpad. Nearly indestructible.

  • My Mac has been flipping out too. Random application quits...won't open microsoft work...and now the snow leopard won't work...I am so frustrated!

  • lol.. 14 months and suddenly Apple sucks because your keyboard/trackpad stopped working? It's probably just the single connector in your top case. It doesn't mean it's a bad product.. Things break.. I've had Apples, Toshibas, Dells and custom-built PCs all fail in or out of warranty.. Good luck finding that immortal piece of technology you're looking for.

    ps, buy Applecare

  • I had the same issue, it had something to do with the plugs behind the battery not being connected properly, I had to fix mine with duct tape and change.

  • ehhh Apple. they fight tooth and nail to keep these kind of stories from ever going public. good for you to come forward and show the truth about apple hardware. cheap shit glued inside shiny plastic.

  • I have this problem since i bought my MBP but never thought it was such an issue because it only happened once in 2-3 months. Now 2 months over warrantee it happens 2-3 times a day! Im really getting pissed since i am not the only one and i expected much more from an 2300 dollar machine. Im gonna send it back tommorrow for repair, i hope this wont be an issue every year! Good luck to you all having the same problems.

  • lol.. your laptop is now a desktop with a nice screen and uild in web cam..get a PC i got a pc and a mac book pro 13"

  • I've got a MBP (about 14 months myself), but so far no issues with trackpad/keyboard. Just the fucking thing in the last couple months has decided that when on battery power, when it's only drained about 50%, it will up and shut down without warning.

Wheeee. My father is going to kill me (and somehow decide it's my fault, of course). [he bought it for me]

  • Yup, and guess what? There it is, a response from my father, that it's operator error, that I have no one to blame for anything I may have lost in the crash, as since I commented that it happened one other time (one!) that I shouldn't have been using battery power. Bastard.

  • its not the computer its the user.

  • Mmm, thanks, Dad.

he got over it, though, did some research and figured out that, "Oh, hey, lots of people have this problem, must be a bad battery...."

  • just so u know i just have the same problem and its a manufacturing fault. the cables under the battery warp and break internally from the heat off the battery. SORT IT OUT APPLE!!!!

  • made a NEW CLEAN INSTALL OF MAC OS X... and... upgrade all firmwares and smc download from apple website.. i was have the same problem..

and you not was beat the keyboard or give to drink some water accident? xD

    sorry my bad english

  • Mine was doing that. I took it to the Apple store & they said to do clean install of OS X......

  • apple care .... my friend is your solution....

  • Just get a new keyboard only about $30.00 dollars

  • That's awful buddy! Mine works great! Only thing was had the screen changed after 11 months due to cold weather frost. Check it out on my channel.

  • lol my youtube videos seem to only be working when i move the mouse around on the video O.o anybody else got this?

  • USBus problem

  • MacBook Pro only seams to be the MacBook PROblem. I have a MacBook 2,1, quite old, and apart from a broken LCD Screen (Toddler + Expensive Laptop = Catastrophe (For the former owner that is, I got it for free due to the broken screen.)) there is no problem. Well, the Superdrive hates to burn DVD's, but that seems to be a common problem with superdrives.

  • Check your battery, there has been a problem with over heating, thus killing the trakpad

  • go to an apple store get it fixed by the warranty.

    problem: chinese mass production

  • dude are you shure you didn't spill ant liquids on the laptop? T_T

  • Txs for your honest video!!! Often times, Macbook people are so obsessed w/ Apple, that they don't want to admit, that apple is not that perfect as they pretend to be. Yes, OS X is superior to Vista and makes the Macs, more stable, they look more stylish, but the Mac has the same components inside as every other Laptop, and unfortunately the parts inside and the build quality are sometimes mediocre, not up to the big bucks we pay for this machines.

  • os x is not even close to superior to vista

  • My macbooks hard drive crashed only 20 days out of warranty. Shame on apple for putting a filthy little seagate in my poor macbook =(

  • My battery died after a year, my screen got this weird stain that impossible to get rid off and the laptop often overheated and making weird noises. I think Apple doesn't spend enough time inspecting the quality of their products. They just try to get it out into the market for some doughs.

  • take it apart and re-seat all your ribbon cables inside your case. i have had similar problems in the past and this is always the solution when you have multiple items fail at once.

  • It's not very expensive for the Apple Care 3 year warranty, so why not invest in it. I mean things tend to break down in certain environments, also, people tend to handle their equipment without following good maintenance. people... please don't forget to keep the keyboard area clean and free of debris. I have never had problems with my Apple equipment, and I'm very pleased with it's performance to date. Thank-you Apple!

  • G5 quad-core tower: Defective keyboard frequently types double letters (bought a replacement—it does the same thing, though not as badly), CD/DVD drive wouldn't burn discs properly, eventually died altogether. The G5 quit working completely last month. Apparently a firmware issue—thankfully not the infamous "coolant leak" issue!

30" Apple cinema display: screen has been yellowing and dimming continuously since 2005. Soon it will be too dim to use with the lights on.

  • 2.16 GHz Macbook Pro: infamous "exploding" battery, warped lid, lid pops open, screen whine (minor), screen flicker when on brightest setting. Also I'd like to say a big "fuck you" to Apple for not mentioning their drastic, intentional underclocking of the graphics card! Macbook Slo.

"Mighty" mouse: All 3 of them I've bought have eventually become too clogged (mouse-ball) to be resuscitated with rubbing alcohol.

Those are some problems I've had with Apple hardware since late-2005!

  • (first comment didn't post) That was in response to your question "Am I the only one or is the quality of mac hardware declining?" I was once what they call a "Mac fanboi." No more. I've been using Macs since I made the "switch" in '91--in the 90's I never had ONE hardware issue with any of my Macs! Wish it were still true. In my opinion, the folks at Apple should be ashamed of themselves for dramatically lowering their quality standards without a corresponding lowering of their prices!

  • It was probably too cold in Denmark for that Macbook Pro, and the keys got frozen or something. Not to worry. I will purchase it from you with U.S. dollars and put it in my Apple computer museum.

  • Hey, Hellometric, can I have it since you're gonna chunk it anyway? Maybe I can fix it somehow. I can put it in my Macintosh museum with my Mac SE from the 1980s with the dud floppy drive. I'll give you $5 for it.

  • What about Apple Care? Did you get it...

  • lol srry dude!!

2 months after 1 year warranty

  • WOW nice

  • You should have purchased an AppleCare Protection Plan!!! It would have paid for itself several times over. No hardware is ever 100% fail-proof, even the beautiful Apple engineering.

  • pencil, that is so true. I got an Apple Care extended warranty after a year, and I got two more years of no worries. I would not buy something that expensive and not cover it with another two year warranty extension. Man, I feel bad for the guy. I mean, that Apple Care bit him in the butt. :( Sorry, man.

  • Don't really know anymore - maybe I'll just pickup an old PB G4 :)

  • Didn't you get Apple Care extended warranty? That covers such a malfunction as yours!!!

  • bad luck

are u still gunna get 6th generation when it comes out(if it does)!!!
