The truth was misquoted. Exately Alexandra Thidvbanh Bounxouei was born in her mother country Bulgary that is why she said she wish she was born in a beautiful country; what she meant is to born in Laos. The family moved to Laos when Alexandra was 2 years old and people was mistaken her wanting to be born in Thailand.
She really grown up a beautiful very talented lady. I've known Sandra and her family during my stay in Vientianne,Laos for almost 5 years.
In person she is very nice and so her family. She has a talented musician parents and she has a good upbringing and she is a beautiful person even without make up and she is proud being Lao. Hope this will help to those who criticized her.

I think that Alex is great! I'm laos and I love it! I protray myself as who I am...I have an accent when I speak Laos, but then again I was born and raised in America speaking three languages at the same time... I think it depends on the people and yeah there is a lot of haters.. But that's life... Her best friend, Weir Sakulawat, just got his B.S. in Civil Engineer from KU Thailand. He is now 23, and pure Thai. Sandra is 5' 6" and Weir is 6'1". Don't know their weights.

I have one question, in the opening credit of her movie they show her and Weir walking in a festival at the end with dancers. Did that ever show in the actual episode?
She didn't say anything bad about Lao(s). In fact she said the opposite. This girl does more to promote Lao(Laonai) in international stage than other Lao(Laonai) singers/band I know of.
She should be given a award by people of Lao not banned like what Lao PDR goverment did to her for her work.

She speaks Lao very eloquently even better than some adults, very mature for her age. Her tone of voice is like the sound of music, soft, smooth and very pleasant to listen to. Thumbs up to her parents and school. You are very very cute....
