  • i love this scene and music!!!

  • i like it

  • Luv this song!!!

  • Islam does not approve music and even says it is a sin. It is only because of the influence of Persia and Hindustan the music could find ts way in Islamic religious devotion. Sufi's are treated bad by Islam. Only in Hindustan you will find recognition to them. Kwaja Gareeb Nawaj had no ill will against any other religion and people loved him irrespective of their faith. This song is really soul stirring becuse of its immense love of Gareeb Nawaj.

    -Malarmannan

  • Brings tears to my eyes. Khwaja ji Khwaja ji..

  • B-E-A-U-tiful song :D! I love the culture, it is also beautiful!!

  • ARR THE GREAT

  • Nice !!!

  • sitting in a corner of my office and hearing it again and again

i don't know why i have tears, salaam AR Rahman for this giving us a Master piece

  • The actor who sing the songs is Haidar ali , he had the idea of this film and he requested the director to give him a small role of this Sufi singer. He played as shahrukh khan's father in film called phir bhi di hai hindostani.

  • what is the name of the actor who is singing?

  • @SETSETCIRCLE a r rahman

  • Music doesn't recognize Hinduism or Islam. What brilliant music!

  • whats with the flashes of green?

  • amazing Islam is the most peacefull religion in the world, all the islamic festival are celebrated by peace and love,i am a hindu but i hav a hudge respect for islam. Its a wonderful religion but due to some idiot terriosts its is facing critics from the world,Allah bless islam

  • ALLAH IS ALIVE

  • Nice work dude with the english.. Always knew that lyrics are more worth than the wonderful music in this.. and it gets better when lyrics are understood.

  • I can see that whether its Indian or Pakistani we are nice people. Then why such hatred and violence?

  • Very nice song …One should respect the faith ad practice of others .. though I myself am muslim and don,t go to dargahs but I respect the beliefs of those who do and often admire the strength of their love ad faith . for nowhere in islam is mentioned prohibition of such practice and it is as despicable to declare something permissible as non permissible. So be careful in your declarations and learn to be tolerant.

  • I am Hindu, still this song engenders highly devotional feelings in me. Rahman is a genius.

  • Dargahs are unislamic.

  • @ThePseudoBasher

    no no

  • @gizmole123 yes, they are unislamic, dargahs are not allowed in Islam.

  • courtsy

  • Aurangzeb is better lol :-)))))) enjou the music its divine love this song

  • I can't accept musllms...had they not invaded India probably that would have been a different story. It was more of India's own historical problem of never been united under one banner or man to blame than invaders. But I simply can't accept them. I am sorry of sounding so shiv sena type. I hate any religious fanatisms.us..chirsitan judaism or anything..and these kind of movies make my blood boil even more.yet.ironically I have many muslims acquientes who I take them as face value.but no islam.

  • @boiragirules

    oh who cares

  • i love ar verymuch like tjis song. nice music, rythm, lyrics, tone,voice...

  • I love this song it rox

  • nagavi ga iyo yaa ya'a,taa tuni inini yaa indu

  • this is a beautiful sufi song, thanks for the translation in the video..

  • im in a trance!

  • They look like starving santa claus begging for food?

  • Who was LODA akbar?

  • This is a beautiful song, but when it comes to story He never had a Hindu wife and I wonder how people believe it .The story is 70% fiction as the writer of the movie admitted .

  • Beautiful song. When was this movie released?

Peace to all people, of all religions :)

  • THE MUSLIM'SCHOLARS AND CLERICS"ARE JUST THAT ..TOO MUCH NIND ND INTERPRETATION..NO HEART /LOVE OF GOD /SPIRITUAL FRAME OF MIND..LIKE JESUS'S DONKEY'S CARRYING A LOAD OF NONSENSICAL ,ARGUMENTATIVE, BLIND ,LIMITED ,DRY ,BOOKISH KNOWLEDGE.

THEY ARE RELIGIOUS PARAPLEGICS , NO BETTER THAN THE WORMS WHO FEED ON EXCRETA. THEY ARE FARTHEST ..FAR AWAY FROM GOD AND LOVE OF GOD.THEY HAVE MY CONTEMPT AS WELL AS DEEP PITY.

  • This movie was quite funny at some scenes. Like the scene where the mother gives her poison and her ladies in waiting crying behind her. It was just weird.

  • i watched the movie and i liked it, but i dont know who exactly this song is about, if its islam or hindu i am not sure. but i really think this song is beautiful! i love the sound, whatever the meaning is, the music is wonderful. :D

  • @TetrisEva they are talking about Ghareeb Nawaz. or Mouinodin Sahib. he brought islam to this area (the kush), he was like the prophets cousin's nephew or something. he taught in persia, then came to india. xD this is about him and how we are thankful that he brought islam to india

  • @Qmohd1

thank you for that explanation. i am a christian, but i have islam friends and i dont judge. and i just think this song is beautiful :)

  • One of the best sufi songs.

  • Nice

  • mashallah thanks for a good translation so that our non muslim friends can understand and know the status of my gharib nawaz..may allah give you a good and peaceful life for this...aameen keep it up

  • I never understand the people who post rude comments for videos they don't like. It's very simple plebs. If you don't like it, don't watch the video and don't post anything. No one is going to change their mind on how they understand God because you posted a comment misquoting a couple of ayats and hadiths.

Get over it. You are not the light that will lead us out of darkness.

  • LOL that fool with the beard looks like one of the orangutans out of Planet of the Apes

  • Good translations!

  • nice.. oye

  • As a non-Muslim, I find Sufism is quite fascinating. Why are Talibans against music?

  • @mukarung b/c its haram. but i personally do listen to music, but in moderation. im not obsessed.

  • i cant understand what you are talking about. I am a shia and in shia be belive that after our beloved prophet Mohammad(peace be upon him and his family) it should be someone to continue the way of prophet and guide followers till the last saver come. it is well documented in history and it is confirmed by prophet at Al-ghadir. the first one was Ali( peace be upon him) and his sons. after them the best people are in charge. Akabar wasa good person,we only worship Holy God,and just respect them.

  • @earthman80dadash LOL he had an election. Islam is a democratic society. Shariya is the eastern democracy, a direct democracy. and no, Hazrat Ali (r) was not the first Caliph. not being disrespectful to him, as a matter of fact hes my role model

  • i watch this video because its such a great music and brings about such a feeling of god and his kindness. Please do not go too much into technicalities...ram

  • This is intensely spiritual!!!

  • Is this a Qawalli or A Song

  • Qawalli

    but its in a film...

    so...?

  • I do not understand when he goes to bow down at 2:46, who is he prostrating before? Isnt that shirk? Can someone please answer my question.

    Jazakallah

  • He may be prostrating to Allah...

but if he is prostrating to Khwaja Garib Nawaz..

if his intention was of worship=shirk

    if his intention was respect=haram

anyways..its a film...so i doubt they even know about prostration

  • @IslamWarrior786 ITs respect and our love for the awliya of Allah swt, when u dnt know anything about the awliya, dnt say that its shirk.

  • If u are a True sunni, you would realise that that the Fatwa of AlaHazrat where he states 'it is shirk to postrate with the intention of worship and haram with the intention of respect'

Before the Prophet (sallalahu-alahi-wassallam) it was permissible to perform sajda-e-taazimi (Prostration of respect) but the Prophet said it is haram.

I know the love of the Awliya and the Prophet is central to Islam but there is always bounds in love..

(Sajda na samaj Najdi oh najdi

    Sar dayta hoon nazrana)

  • @thaiboxeriffy786 well it does look like hes warshipping the man, but only god knows our intention. we revere ghareeb nawaz b/c he brought islam to the hindu kush...thats all were doing

  • beautiful

  • nice song

  • the 2 men behind the lead singer and the 2 boys behind them.. look like 2 pairs of twins.. hehe. true?

  • الاغانى الهنديه جميله جدا حتى ولو لم تكن مترجمه

  • sorry i don't understand what you mean?!

i just said that i I love hindi songs and all egyptian do

  • this the best song and the best portion this movie ...... it's great

.. this is what sufism provide.

  • Great Britain raped fucked and destroyed our country ,separated us, deunified us, and made us live in hunger, mughals gave india a position and felt india is theirs and evryone's and now britain talk big about human rights and all, i know coz i live in london and reside here but i m an indian. and i love india and its people weder muslims or non muslims. 247 years britain took all our money and left us empty handed making their underground trains and machines.

  • thanks

  • Guys (hindu or muslims whatever), Akbar was just a politician of his time, he tried to content both sides and do you really think he was that into Islam?he only used it as a mean to unite everyone;)

Anyways, enjoy the song, it's nice to see that sufi are now mentioned in movies hehe...

  • Perhaps not that "into Islam" in the narrow sense. . . that might be why he invited Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and "others" to colloquia. . .as for uniting, his descendents did just fine using sheer terror and intimidation. Akbar really was "the great" (although not "the perfect"!)

  • I agree with u akbar was good but not perfect

  • @anissa2007 just like Barak Obama who had a Muslim dad but a Christian mother. Even Barak Obama has a Muslim name which is Mubarak Hussein Obama but converted to Barak Obama to dodge people. Polictians always watch their own interests and not that of religion or anything else.

  • @anissa2007

but keep this in mind that Hazrat Ali Akber (a.s) was also Imam Ali (a.s) grandson and He (a.s) resembled Hazrat Muhammad (saw)....

  • @anissa2007

    yes yes

  • @anissa2007 Jodha was of the Chisti Sufi Order. The basis of this song. The Chisti embrace all faiths and do not require conversion. It is how Jodha would be able to rule as a muslim and not intolerantly.

  • @anissa2007

"Islam?he only used it as a mean to unite everyone;)" Yes Islam does call for unity :)

Syed Moniuddin Chisty was the guide(Mahdi) of his time ... Who then is the Mahdi of our times?:)

  • rahman rocks

  • no one in this world knows the true history. it's all manipulated... so all you people, just enjoy the movie and don't think too hard!!

  • I don't know much abut Akbar but Sufi masters are no different from Zen, Tao, Tantric, Baul masters inthat they are in a class of their own and do not belong to any religion or any godhead, they may attach their teachings to the religion of the masses to wean them off their heavily conditioned selves and programmed version of truth and may appear to be propogating those beliefs systems but the more you merge into their version of Truth religion will fall away as eg. Rumi stated.

  • @BachTantra sufis are muslim, sunni muslim. sufi means perfect, when u call a sufi a sufi..he wont say he is one, he says hes working on it. but sufiism is a means of communicating with old souls who know more about islam than normal ppl do, and being able to give us a helpful nudge in times of hardship.

  • i loved this film so much that i bought the DVD on Amazon. the dvd box is really pretty and even came w/ a stack of postcards. that was a nice surprise!

    loved jodhaa akbar!!!

  • Long live Islam.

    It's Messenger, SAW.

It's revivers, like Data Sahib and Khwaja, ra.

  • I LOVE IT! THANKS FOR UPLOADING!!!! =)

    x

    kwajaji

  • theres a word for ppl like u...Fundamentalist!

  • @deltaforcedf haha i like ur ending, 'in the name of islam'. you dont know what real islam is, take a religions course. open your eyes and separate ideal, from reality. otherwise u'l just be another dumbass in this world.

  • the movies ok and this clip is the best

  • this movie JODAH AKBAR was and is the best movie and i never watch indian films.

  • yaa garib nawaz... this line says it all... the ultimate song to connect to the divine... too good...this was the only song i was listening to when i was going thru a professional turmoil lately, and everytime i have crried listening this... thanks ar raheman

  • Many think Sufism got influenced by Vedanta in India, also by the Bhakti movement with love for God.

Only in India did Sufism really grow. Vedanta has influenced many religions in India. Buddhism, Sikhism and now Sufism.

Akbar also tried to merge Sanatan Dharm with Islam. He followed his own beliefs of Din i illahi! Same with Dara Shikoh! unfortunately Dara was killed and Akbars ideas were thrown too.....

  • Are you sure about "Akbar trying to merge Santan Dharm with Islam" more likely converting infidels with less violence....Read about the true history of Akbar and it will open your eyes.

  • To muslims of today, Akbar is nothing less than Takfir or an apostate. What would you call a person who tried to create his own religion called Din i ilahi. He merged aspects of Hinduism with which he was fascinated along with Islam and others. Many considered it as blasphemy.

In my mind Akbar started what Dara Shikoh tried to do later. Incorporate Dharmic values in a spiritual lacking islamic doctrine. We should celebrate their foresightedness.

  • @munstud I think that describes Sai Baba. Take a second, think about it .

  • @munstud spiritual lacking my ass. were just not gonna warship over a million gods. and yes i took a religions class, i understand Hinduism was founded on monothiestic principals. but u guys have drifted far from thats, its mere idol warship now. and this idiot was a politician, nothing more.

  • @munstud If History was known in India movies praising invaders wouldn't be made.

What about Chittor in 1569. Look it up.

India wouldn't make a movie praising the British would they?

History is not known in india.

  • @blurr1000 indians know history.thats why they made this film.history is history.there is nothing good or bad abt it.they cant change past, can they.??they just tried to remake a piece of history.its nothing like praising or mocking some one.they depicted a situation when akbar was alive.thats all about this movie.or any history oriented movie as a matter of fact!

  • @munstud makes sense.

  • @munstud absoloutely....you have a deep knowledge of Sufism...my kind regards...and may the blessed fall at the feet of Khawaja Garib Nawaz..in him is our salvation and our higher purpose..Dara Shikoh was a visionary....and a great Soul..

    BTW,i am hindu..which means zero!!

  • @munstud Spiritual lacking Islam, dats xactly y hindus wud die to go to dargahs and stuff.....but muslims hardly go to temples.....

  • @munstud no offence to hinduism btw....

  • @munstud hi i liked your comment as you said he was foresighted .. i think he had hindsight too .. because the way islam is practiced its the same way hindu consider the best way to achieve God .. i think akbar really got what is God .. thats why he had no choice but to Love all :D

  • tere darbaar main khawaja sir jhukate hain awliya..... tu hai hindalwali khawaja..... rutba hai pyara.... chahne se tuhko khawaja ji mustafa ko paya......

  • movie wasn't even that good, i don't why people like it that much

  • Ash is perfect for these types of roles.

  • Khwaja ji give peace to everyone...

  • @jzfoyou what you said is haram

  • ya all so dumb...

    jst listen 2 the song...

y make all these nonsensical comments?

    grow up...

  • Khwaja was a true humanist, he helped a lot in the spiritual evolution of muslims in northern India.

  • @anissa2007 sorry to say not only northern india but the whole old india which includes bangladesh pakistan and many more

  • jab mann bahut viyakul ho suno shanti milegi

  • beautiful song....i listen to it everyday almost, before I start work...peace...

  • This is not the true sufism that was practised during the time of the prophet (saw). This is agreed upon by many scholars. Although there is nothing wrong with singing, it should be a song praising Allah and no other. Allah says worship him not saints nor do u need saints to get closer to Allah. Alllah is closer to you than your jugular vein as it says in the Qur'an, seek Him sincerely and Allah will answer ur prayers. There is nothing wrong with Qawwals as long as they glorify Allah no1 else.

  • I understand... in fact I was a bit surprised that it was about a saint... sort of like what Protestants said about Catholic saints. I didn't realize Islam had saints as well.

Out of curiousity - Is it necessary to learn Arabic to be a follower of Islam?

  • Well generally nearly every Muslim trys to learn and read arabic because the arabic in the Qur'an is very old arabic and translations don't do justice to it. Some translations are ok but they aren't a 100% correct thats why Muslims try and learn arabic. However I am not arab, but I can read arabic. I learnt through islamic studies teachers lol. As long as you believe in the oneness of God and the prophet (saw) was the last of a long line of messengers your a Muslim.

  • Arabic is needed during prayer and other things, so in a way you do need it. So you should learn how to read arabic at least - it ain't difficult lol. But if you want to benefit as much as you can learning arabic is probably the best way to go.

  • Well, to read the Quran and grab its true essence and poetic rhythm, u must learn to read arabic. Most muslims like us can read Arabic and hence the Quran.

Yes, Islam also has a history of Saints, both Sufi and Ulema. Hazrat khwaja Moinuddin chisti was a Sufi saint. Sufiism started with if i recall correctly with Muhamads saw's son in law Hazrat Ali.

These Sufi saints through the ages have performed miracles which left ppl baffled and most of them converted on the spot!

  • Islam doesn't have saints. read the post above. No you don't have to learn Arabic.

  • No, Islam did have saints. What do you think these guys were?

And to read the quran, u you do have to learn to atleast read Arabic. Else how would u read the Quran then??

  • @MrFaizan86 u can read it in english, but you need tafseer. also i'd only get older books

  • No you don't! just the reading part so you could read the quran. Not difficult at all.

  • I agree but i dont think one should discuss on matters of Sufi saints, since everyone knows they performed miracles and were much closer to allah than other Ulema and mashaikh of the time, and didnt condemn singing. While islam doesnt encourage singing. So i guess the matter should be left as it is.

  • I love this song. After listening to this, I searched for other sufi music, read more into sufism, and finally into islam itself.

This song showed me that there is another side to islam, the gentle loving side that searches for union with God.

  • so i guess u have embraced islam??

    if yes then congrajulations.....

but i always suggest u always read and research about a religion dont just make opinion by looking few black sheeps.....

read more quran and ahadees...........u will come to more enlightment about true islam............the enlightment ! ! !

  • Let's just say that my paradigm has shifted. However, what do you mean by "black sheep"? Do you mean Sufis? If so, just stop right there - I happen to abhor the narrow legalism of those "in authority", be they priests, ulamas or rabbis. I prefer to think for myself, thank you very much.

I'm having a problem reading the Qur'an because I don't know Arabic, and for some reason the English translations don't make much sense. And what are ahadees? Hadiths? Can you suggest a good source?

  • @wayan - Did I say I converted? I just said I had a paradigm shift, that not all of Islam is fanaticism and blood-and-guts jihadist. I try to keep an open mind, unlike some people whose minds are musty from being closed too long, or rusty from disuse.

  • @dassenach none of Islam is fanaticism and blood-guts jihadists

  • Ok Working for Whahbees Get lost from this site .U do not belong here!

  • Ali ka Dulahara - Beloved of Ali

All Sufi sisalsas(chains) trace their spirituaility through Maula Ali. Prophet said Man Kunto Maula fah Ali Maula. Who so ever I am Master and friend off Ali is also his Master and friend at Ghadeer (returning from his last Haj) - sadly we forgot...

God's blessing on Ali and Fatima's decendent - PIR E HIND PAK- Khawaja Mera Khawaja!

  • India is a rainbow. So many religions under one roof, the the majority of them coexist peacefully. Each one has anchored itself in the many cultures of the country. It's so beautiful...

Song is also Beautiful. 5 stars.

  • thiz film is first hindi film in which hindu director shows truth spirit of islam

  • I am a hindu by practice, but with the divinity flowing into my heart and soul listening to this awesome and inexplicable pleasure giving treat of sufi music from alla rakha rehman....I realize and surrender to the great divine spirit..THE GOD..it is us who choose different paths (hinduism, islam, christianity, jainism or any other religion) to reach the great almighty...it is us who differentiate by religion but he doesn't and looks all of us with equal only one thing he knows i.e LOVE

  • "Those who truly believe (in God), and those who have become Jews, and the Sabaeans, and the Christians, and the Magians, and those who associate partners with God (without having any relation with a Divinely-inspired religion) God will certainly judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. God is witness over everything." [Quran 22:17]

  • just shut up! americans are the real terrorists and osama bin laden is bush ka chamcha

  • what the hell is your problem.

    go to hell.

    how dare you say that

  • we cannot marry with someone who not our religion...

  • Islam is very beautiful religion...if you all learn about muslim more, you all can cry like me..ALLAHUAKHBAR!

  • khawja garib nawaz is the greatest saint of all times, ask from the friend of God u will get it, this is the truth believe it.

  • x 100 my friend!

    Ya khwaja gareeb nawaz madad.

  • guauuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!! por dios como me encanta!!!! maravilloso!!!

  • THis song has great music and heat touching but please dont take the meaning in the sense of asking help khwaja, Allah is the greatest in the universe and only he can help u any where in the world. so please avoid such kind of SHIRK.

  • u guys should take care of the actual teaching of islam, that is u cant ask directly from some Peer or The great peoples that are passed like Hazrat Khwaja and many others. other wise u are counting SHIRK (sharing some one with ALLAH). which is the greatest sin in islam. only u can ask for help from ALLAH, but u can pray for these great peoples and along with that u can say that (Ya Allah, with the sake your this great and loved human being, forgiveness my sins and help me in what ever u want.)

  • They are singing in respect to the Islamic saint in Ajmer Sharif, India.

  • i lovvvvvvvvvvvvve this song.. soulful sigh..

    wht does khwaja mean?

  • Khwaja is referring to Khwaja Garib Nawaz of India. His is a Sufi Saint and thousands of people of all religions come to his shrine and get their problems solved. His shrine is in Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan. Khwaja saab has always helped his followers. One does not need to be in Ajmer Sharif to communicate with his holiness and get his help. All one has to do is ask for help in your heart and watch your problems go away.

  • how can I ask for it for help?

  • "(Those who have taken deities so that they may intercede with God on their behalf should know that) none will have a right of intercession except such as have a covenant with the All-Merciful (by virtue of the quality of their faith and worship, and their nearness to Him)." [18:87]

Forget you Ego - the most redoutable deity and companion of Iblîs - and take the vessel of a saint to reach the island of Unity; be perseverant and just in your prayers to the One ! Don't be afraid of the ocean...

  • Ask what for help?

  • God's friend can help the prayers to reach Him ; but when you ask for help, it is He, and not the men... men are only here to 'facilitate', like Muhammad (peace!): "... your Lord may well raise you to a glorious, praised station (of nearness to Him and give you leave to intercede with Him, as He wills, on behalf of His servants, in the Hereafter)." [17:79] It is because "We have not sent you (O Muhammad) but as an unequalled mercy for all the worlds." [21:107]

  • to Khawaja Darbar, like how can one do it? Im not muslim but I heard from all over world different religions go to this place, since it's very divine and prayers get answered over there.

  • Nope, thats made up crap. The only person who can answer your prayer is God and God alone! Wherever and whenever it may be.

  • God has sent down Messiahs for many reasons, the music can mean either of the two things.

  • But you aren't making prayers to the 'friends of God', but, by their spiritual stations, they are mediators: they are like candle in your way to Him, it doesn't mean that they are the destination...

  • khwaja means lord or god

  • khwaja means friend of God

  • well that's what makes money nowadays.. Indian moviegoers don't give a crap about heroes like Maharana Pratap or Shivaji as much as they care about the Mughal invaders those figures fought against.

  • Beautiful song...thanks so much for posting with the English translation.

  • haha.. you guys are really from heaven.. you can't see aishwarya and hritik here and can't listen to a soulful song. moreover you can see those invisible things ( not shown in video) like, race and religion. i hope you get a good sleep after making such comments. GOD may bless you.
