I love this song and I love Rufus Wainwright. I really should own one of his albums. I love the feel of his voice. Great video; I just watched "Middlemarch". I love it so much. I wish I had the patience to read the entire novel. I love to read but never have found the time for this one. Rufus Sewell is to die for in this film. Oh, those deep eyes and that sensitive look. Thanks so much for making this and posting it. Love this video best.
""I have often thought that I should like to talk to you again," she said, immediately. "It seems strange to me how many things I said to you."
"I remember them all," said Will, with the unspeakable content in his soul of feeling that he was in the presence of a creature worthy to be perfectly loved. I think his own feelings at that moment were perfect, for we mortals have our divine moments, when love is satisfied in the completeness of the beloved object."
A wonderful wonderful video... especially since there are so few Middlemarch videos around here. I have watched it about 20 times during the last wo days and loves every second. (Yes, I am evading preparing for an exam...)
I just read it - it's amazing. Please, everyone, do not be deterred by the length, you will not be able to put it down, and George Elliot's narrative is amazing. (Have not seen BBC version yet)
I found this video in search of a good Rufus Sewell video. It's perfect...and Middlemarch is a best kept secret that everyone needs to see. Set aside a day, because it is a long mini series well worth the watch.
Patrick Malahide played Edward Casaubon the way only he could. His style and portrayal of Casaubon made me feel so sad and sorry that the poor man never had much of a life.
No Knightly, that must make it good. :)

As a teen I looked up to Lydgate, as a model of how to be a man, but later thought that in reality I had more in common with Will.
It dawned though that in fact I've lived much more like Fred Vincy.
Approaching 40 I see now hints of Mr Brooke emerging, and the threat of Casubon on the horizon.
Such a wise book.

Oh no, I love Fred and Mary too. I reread their interactions all the time in the book. They never fail to make me smile with their sweetness.

Everybody should read 'Middlemarch'
but of course they won't - because its a very long Victorian novel.
So, the BBC TV adaptation is a very good alternative.

My favorite version of this song.

Avalon - Dorothea is a very passionate, dignified and selfless person. In the book Ladislaw falls in love with her beauty, and her intelligence.
Great video, by the way, to one of my favourite songs. :D

Hi, I'm so glad that someone is giving Middlemarch that it deserves. The DVD was recommended to me last year on Amazon, and I really enjoyed it.

I think she is in fact a very passioante person herself, although it takes her a while to fully realise it.
