You can effectively use the BC extinguisher on food, then dust the food off and eat the food. ABC Power is designed to melt at 380 degrees, it makes a terrble mess but does really extinguish well. ABC has its place for thouse who dont use extinguishers. Works great on A fires but I like BC for the Kitchen.

It's weird because the only bc rated extinguisher you can get in the uk is 600 grams. Then it's abc powder which is much more effective
