This wasn't 1963. L'Olympia was 1960-61. Sh was too sick in 1963 to have performed.

"La Foule" What a song! What a voice! What a singer! This is Edith Piaf. Many folks would have never known very much about her if it were not for the movie. Thanks to my wonderful French teacher, I've adored her since 1962. I immediately connected with her art and her music. I wondered if there were any videos showing her performances, and I'm delighted to see that YouTube is full of them. Thanks to everyone for bringing Piaf to me--live and on stage. Merci, mille fois!

@Mmmmoaa a lot of ppl dont realize that Piaf 's greatest success outside of France was in the USA. She toured the US several times between 1947 and 1959. She appeared on the Ed Sullivan TV show several times,, as well as on other US TV shows. She also had a triumphant concert at Carnegie Hall. In fact she wanted to tour the US in 1963, but her rapidly declining health made that impossible.

what you said...her voice was not nearly so strong in '63. listen to "a quoi ça sert l'amour" which is one of her last songs, and her voice is much lower and less strong on there. in this recording, Piaf was still in her prime.

Edith sang the last time at the Olympia , 23 Oktober 1962 . About La Foule, the last time taht she sang it on stage was in Holland or in Lyon, both in Decemmber 1962.The voice is lower and the chansons like " Musique à tout va " and "Non,je ne regrette rien" were sang one half-ton down

yes that's not 1963.the image is from her Olympia, in fact recorded by the French TV and the Pathé-Actualités, 2 January 1961 but the sound is from 1958
