@dirty654321 Yes. This is what was called "Drown Proofing" back when I was in way back in the 1980's. They separate the swimmers from non-swimmers with the test you see in the video. Then there are classes on how to make flotation devices out of your clothing, and the dead man's float technique. After that the swimmers play, and non-swimmers get a swimming class. I got to swim to the bottom and retrieve the fake rifle with a couple of other swimmers. Fun day.

Swimming with all that gear is another. Im a airman in the Coast Guard and had to pass my 75 yards and tred water for 2 minutes with full flight gear which includes, flight suit, helmet, boots and weighted vest. Its not easy. Not being confident and having a fear of water juast adds to it.... He'll get it.
