1. Puck is not seen whistle should have been blown
2. Goalie interference
3. If you pause at 15 seconds you can see an Islanders player with his stick and skate with in the crease, that could be goalie interference strictly speaking.
1. It doesn't matter when the whistle blew, the play is dead when the ref intends to blow the whistle (which makes things hazy)
2. It's not goalie interference, but it is no goal because the islander players pushed the keeper into the net. From every angle, and preferably the last, you can see the islander isn't pushed by a sabre into the goalie.
3. You can be in the crease at all times, as long as you aren't interfering with the goalie.
1. The ref doesn't even begin lift his hand to blow his whistle until after the put is in the net. I'm aware of the rule, but you can't be 'intending to blow the whistle' before you've even started moving.
@NYIJK10 For your #1 If the ref says he wanted to blow the whistle before the puck went into the net the goal is automaticly counted as "No Goal" its when he WANTS to blow the whistle not WHEN he does
@NYIJK10 I agree with you. These refs are worse than the refs are in my league. And my refs suck. I was always a calm player. rarely getting a penalty, never getting suspended when i played travel And i got maybe 5 to 10 penalties a season? Which doesn't seem like alot to me when there's about 40 to 50 games in a season.. I go to this new league and played 47 games.. And i get 34 penalties? And i've been suspended 3 games? Ref quality or player quality? To me the ref quality has gone down..

@molongo0 Have you watched hockey since, i don't know? The 1999 playoffs? When the puck is in the crease a player may be in the crease (as long as he doesn't touch the goaltender)
This is one of those BS rules that the NHL thought of when they were high. If the ref has the intent on blowing the whistle, even after the puck is in the net, it's not a goal. Seriously, one of the worst rules. Ranks up there with the delay of game, puck over the glass rule.
It was a goal, blown call, puck was in the net before any whistle, sabre player made more contact with miller than anybody. simply a blown call, refs said first it was because of the whistle, then laster they said goalie interference.
This was not a goal. The New York player hits the puck and it goes under The goalies pads. Then the goalie is pused into the net with the puck. At that point the p[lay is dead as soon as the puck crosses the goalline under the goalie (being pushed) After that the puck comes loose from under tthe goalie. This is not a goal.
Now the rules clearly state that the play stops as soon as the ref starts putting his hand towards his mouth(with the whistle of course). So by the time the whistle was blown they had no video coverage to show that it was a goal for sure..........CONTINUED
oh dont start with the "Sabres have more depth" bullshit. the team that plays harder deserves to win, and look how many games were 1 goal games that series, even though we dont have as much "depth". personally i think they isles got the shaft multiple fans that series, but who am i to say that, im an islander fan
on a lighter note, the sabres better 4-0 the rangers
As a Sabres fan, I can admit that I thought it was a goal. At the same time, the ref may have felt that the goal occured because of the interference on Miller. Stuff happens, refs make mistakes sometimes. The Sabres have never been screwed by the NHL and refs ever, so what do I know (Sarcasm obviously haha)
even as a die-hard buffalo fan since birth, i thought it was a goal and i still do. but bottom line... buffalo has gotten effed by officials too (in hockey AND football) so islander fans quit bitching that they got screwed... even if they get the goal the sabres win the series cuz they have way more depth.
the crease goal got bagged after dallas scored the stanley cup winner in triple OT AGAINST the sabres... turns out brett hull was in the crease but they overlooked it because dallas went crazy celebrating and it was such a long game.
The NY Islanders were clearly jipped on that call. Shame on the nhl and stupid sabres fans for not being honest enough to admit it's a goal. Whenever calls don't go for "their" dumb sabres team however they're the first and LOUDEST to scream CONSPIRACY! F**king hypocrytes. You deserve to be hated and NEVER have a successful team.
rofl JIPPED?? learn the game u faggot..... its not a goal U CANT PUSH THE GOALIE..learn the game before u post shit about my city....FUCK U SHAME ON UR MOM FOR doing drugs before u were born
he didnt push him into the goalie if u can see he was flying in there then he falls down and satan 81 dives into miller so its no goal and its over with
Inconclusive at best. You cannot clearly see the puck over the goal line. The Refs made the right call. Calling a goal when you can't see the puck go over the line would be the real crime.
You can see Witts stick making contact with the goal-line puck before contact was made with miller...where else could the puck have gone...refs had no reservations about using this logic on Vaneks shot which disappeared from clear view
Miller was PUSHED into the net with the puck...that's how it ended up in the net, douchbag announcers. I have seen alot of different videos of this and NONE have shown the puck being shot across the goal line. Where is this magic angle I keep heard the Islanders cry about? Why isnt it all over the place?
That is a goal and the NHL is corrput! Starting with Colin Campbell. That idiot is not qualified for his job and he is unfair and biased from his coaching days. C'mon they even rigged the draft lotto so their franchise in the most trouble could get Crosby. If the NHL ever wants to become a real sports league they have to stop hiring former coaches for real executive positions.
It was no goal. You never see on the video if the puck was struck with a stick. You also could not tell if the puck went in before Miller was pushed into the net by Miro Satan. Islander fans should be epset at Satan, he probably cost your team a goal.
Absolutely no goal. You can't see if the puck was ever hit with a stick and Miller was absolutely interferred with by Satan. Islander fans should be upset with Satan as he may have cost his team a possible tying goal.

@molongo0
1. This I agree with, but the point of the matter was that it wasn't blown, Refs do stuff like this all the time.
2. No goalie interference because if you watch the play its the Buffalo players diving to cover up the puck that hit Miller.
3. Because the puck is in the crease, the Islanders are allowed to be in the crease, so this is not interference.
Should have been a goal, just like that Sabres 'goal' in Game Three should not have counted. but what are you gonna do?

@NYIJK10
1. yea i know, but thats the hazy dumb part of the rule. All the ref has to say was that at that moment, he wanted to blow the whistle.
2. I disagree with you on this one. Buffalo 21 has his back turned and islanders 91 (i think) goes in with his own force.
3. wasn't disagreeing, just clarifying
