Somebody Pleeeeaaaasse tell me they have the Jabberwocky translated into German. ( Sag mir, dass jemand hatten " the Jabberwocky" auf deutsch übersetzt!)
Man, the writer must have gone insane, the fact that most of the wonderland characters are considered "mad" as in crazy. And what an imagination! my god, the chershire cat must have token a long time to make up. What a crazy character!
wow. how did they translate "twas brillig and the slithy toves..."? It isn't even real english. that is pretty incredible. did they just make up words in German as well?
"So irre und so geistgestört der Uhu schreit, der Hirsch der röhrt. So irre und so geistgestört und der Momratz ist fort."
"So mad and deranged, the owl cries and the deer calls. So mad and deranged, and the Momratz is away."
I couldn't find "Momratz" even in an unabridged German dictionary, and it probably doesn't refer to anything real. My guess is it's just the German version of a nonsensical term like "Jabberwock."
What does the cat say in german from 2:40 to 2:47 please ??

*Sigh* No. Walt Disney didn't invent Alice in Wonderland. It was a book originally written by Lewis Carroll. HE was high when he WROTE it.

m1nimoose 3 years ago
Nope. It's real German, and it's a whimsical song about madness, which is appropriate, considering the dialogue between Alice and the cat.

I believe it's a variation on "mome rath" in Lewis's poem.
